Silly to release him. Global merchandising alone makes him a valuable asset to any club. Just need to sort out a decent image rights deal and kerching

To be fair, he’s one I imagine we’re likely to keep.

Not sure we'll be doing a retained list.

The only 3 out of contract now are Michael O'Connor, Matt Gilks and Sam Habergham. The latter has a meeting with his surgeon later this month to see whether his operation was a success, so he might end up having to retire yet.

Someone put on our forum that Gilks might retire whilst we're probably wondering whether we want to have Frecklington and O'Connor, from an age point of view, taking up two squad spaces in CM. We have the option on his deal.

Ours is yet to be released but we know from facebook Dan Turner has been released... not quite made it.

Manager has confirmed we are in talks to secure Manny Oyeleke who has a year option left on his contract, so out of contract but we want to activate that.

Sadly, there is more to it than a squad just on paper - as you know.

The club and fans alike need to pull in the same direction, and although we have an owner who is willing to right the wrong’s, most of our fans have still hold little faith in the club, overall - which I think is little unfair.

Big summer for Gary Bowyer, but I’m confident we’ll be right up there next season.

Fallen out of favour since Doidge came back, good player but has had off the field stuff to deal with and looks a bit overweight tbh.

Hmmm, not so sure I agree with you, thought he looked pretty bulky when he arrived with us but lost lots of weight last summer when he adopted the vegan diet...unless he has become a regular customer of the former club favorite lunchtime venue, Greggs in Stroud, since he fell out of favour.

Our retained list is basically everyone is under contract bar Mellis and Turner and we are trying to sign a new deal with both, obviously all the loanees have returned to the parent club and we have released Will Atkinson and two youth lads.

Basically if everyone who we have offered new deals to agrees we have a squad of 22 but that includes 5 YT who will probably go out on loan.

Don't think that's harsh enough personally. I would have released 5 or 6 and brought in 2 or 3 most probably. At least we know our team is reasonably strong heading into the season.
