Yeah we've found that. He's been very good in the Cup games against L2 sides this season where he can get up to full speed and take people on but he just doesn't quite have that quality or cuteness in and around the area for this level like others in the squad have.
Yeah exactly. We’d bring him on with 15-20 mins to go and his pace was incredible at stretching tired teams. But he’d get to the box and make the wrong decision after carrying the ball 50-60 yards.

Paul Digby has signed a two year contract. A lot of interest in him and our most underrated player last season so I'm delighted he's on board next season.

That leaves Mullin, Knoyle, Hoolahan and Hannant. Knoyle is off but I get the feeling we might just get another year out of Mullin and Hoolahan.

Wes Hoolahan confirmed on a 1 year deal. I think we'll get 30 appearances out of him this season which could be huge for us. He set's the standard and I think that helped get the extra 20/30% out of players last season.

It really should help the recruitment side of things too. Mullin must surely fancy another year now.

That'll give your dressing room a boost I'd imagine so a nice indirect benefit as well.

It most definitely will. Apparently he was one of the fittest players at pre-season last year so he set's the standard and like you say it will give everyone a boost going into league one which will be very tough.

It will help with the recruitment side of things too, along with season ticket sales.

Ipswich away should be interesting!!

Nothing from us yet, although our list had to be with the EFL last night so it can't be too far off being announced.

Players under contract
  • Adam Jackson
  • Anthony Scully
  • Cohen Bramall
  • Conor McGrandles
  • Hayden Cann
  • James Jones
  • Joe Walsh
  • Jorge Grant
  • Jovon Makama
  • Lewis Montsma
  • Liam Bridcutt
  • Max Melbourne
  • Max Sanders
  • Ramirez Howarth
  • Regan Poole
  • Sam Long
  • Sean Roughan
  • Tayo Edun
  • Theo Archibald
  • Tom Hopper
  • Zak Elbouzedi
Loan players who will return to their parent clubs:
  • Alex Palmer
  • Brennan Johnson
  • Callum Morton
  • Morgan Rogers
  • TJ Eyoma
Players out of contract and will leave the club when their current deal expires at the end of the season:

  • Ethan Ross
  • Harry Anderson

I'd expect to see Cann and Makama - youth players leave on loan. Remy Howorth may also be loaned out for more game time - Grimsby or Scunny perhaps?

Archibald, Elbouzedi and Melbourne to be transfer listed and leave before the start of the season. Sean Roughan may also depart having had trials with Southampton and Chelsea.

Shame to see Anderson go who despite his young age has cemented his place in Imps history, someone who came up from the National League and grafted as well as adapting to two different styles of play as well as been a thoroughly nice chap. Personally, I think it's the right call and I think we can do better as Harry isn't a real MA winger. I'd expect him to pop up at an AFC Wimbledon or Gillingham and be a solid contributor.

In general, there's a good core there for MA to build on. If he can replicate the quality of loans then we've got a chance although I wouldn't expect as many loan players as we've had.

Jovon already been loaned to Gainsborough, managed by the head of our youth set up.

Would agree with that.

Realistically, I think only 13 or 14 with be in next seasons squad. The rest are either young lads on first year pro deals or likely to be leaving.

Ryan Delaney has turned down new deal as he would be well down the pecking order. Defo not good enough to step up based on what we saw so in quite pleased he hasn’t signed it. Would do a job for plenty in league 2. Gilks has signed a new deal too.

Played for us in L1. Mostly solid, but not good distribution. That said, he is an improvement on our current defence, which consists of a 19yo with no league experience! However as they play the same position (LCB) it's unlikely we'll be back in for Delaney.

Haha. To be fair that’s probably right… it was his distribution that was poor. We were playing from the back and he would just lump it out of play. Didn’t really see the best of him because he was in the team when we were playing badly. He didn’t play after February.

Fair play to him, he could have picked a wage up all next season and played in the Papa Johns cup
Scored the equaliser at Cheltenham will do a good job for someone in lge 2

Definitely wasn’t going to play much like you say. He was one of the more surprising ones for me in terms of offering a new deal. Would still take him over Greenidge mind.

Not surprised at that list, the only one I'm shocked at is us offering Mellor a new deal. Cooney was streets ahead of him in my opinion.

Time to crack on with the rebuild now.

I'm surprised but happily so that Anthony Forde has signed a new 1 year contract with us. Good squad player as decent cover for a number of positions.
