Yeah Apollo was great. I was impressed with PP3D as well. Those spinner-bots are great, but they can become fairly self-destructive when they're given a little bit of a bash.
Yeah, that spinner became no end of a problem when kinked and hitting the floor.

Great move in the match by the other team when he lost drive on the pit though

Spinners and discs have in the main been out robot-ed in this series so far. Want a decent spinner to get through next week's heat tbh so the final ain't just one big flip off!!

That said, Carbide was a beast with his horizontal disc, and will be a huge threat.

Shockwave is a very underwhelming finalists though, he'll get smashed.

Loved Apollo flipping the house robots, brilliant stuff and perhaps harsh that no aggression credit is given by judges for that.

Storm 2 cost 20k to build, and I still have no idea what the point of it was. It managed to get through to the final doing basically nothing. Very defensive, able to push others around a bit, but if you're going to spend that kinda money on a robot make it interesting at least!

Just caught up with this week, best episode so far, some great bouts.

PP3D was pretty destructive but a daft design. I also agree on the comments about Storm, what a dull robot. They talked about modular weapons but don't think I saw them use one once.

I think Storm II was the winner of the last series shown, it was basically a copy of Tornado, which also had the only tactic of ramming into things. It was some flip to manage to turn Dead Metal over, Shunt and Matilda were easy to flip.

Yeah, it was a strange show in many ways. All the robots seemed to have reliability issues with the exception of Storm 2 who was just a bit dull (agree that it was a bit odd that they apparently had weaponry they didn't utilise and that the damn thing was so expensive - why?!). Can't argue with that Apollo flipper though - the overturning of three house robots was a DELIGHT. Think I'd like a spinner or axe wielder to advance from the next one.

Shit judging in that bout. Pulsar looked kind of immobile at the end and they got pitted so a bit inexplicable that that they won. Hope that weird axe on giant wheels wins.

I think if Pulsar sorts out its reliability I think it could be good. The weapon seems quite powerful.

So a team eliminated in the first fight is though to the final, how'd that happen?
All robots in this heat were pretty rubbish and Pulsar shouldn't cause the other finalists many problems.

Shame Ironside 3 didn't get through as that looked the better robot in this heat. Carbide v Ironside would have been an interesting fight.

Pulsar won't do anything in the final but relieved that it beat Gabriel.

Disappointing final with both robots weapons giving up by the end. Overall I think it's been a good series and glad it's come back and hopefully will return again next year, maybe with a longer series.
Next Sunday Battle Bots starts on Spike, which seems to be America's version of Robot Wars. Seeing as they tend to do most things bigger and better than us it could be quite good.

I thought it was a good episode. As I said a while back, there's too many bouts though, the Robots were knackered by the end.

Bit disappointing that the spinner packed in as it tore everything to shreds.

New series started tonight (didn't even realise it was on until earlier).

That Aftershock was a bit of alright, eh

Feel that you'd need a powerful flipper robot to defeat Aftershock, with the ability to get under it before that horrible thing shreds it into next week. Gutted to see Nuts finished with so early, and Jellyfish looked like it'd been made out of a few cereal box freebies.

Jellyfish was a strange one! Surprised it fared even as well as it did. Although last series there was a robot made out of wood I suppose...

Aftershock looks pretty fearsome. Perhaps the most likely thing that could stop it would be it's own reliability, of something that powerful and complex.

Can't believe the robot with the flipper was the most expensive in the series at £25k, then got ripped to bits by Aftershock, brought the rather smug and cocky team down to earth.

Fuck me. Eruption strolled to victory all the way through there...

Effortless.

PP3D was a massive let down, and Behemoth's Team Captain a rate fucking petulant twat acting like that in front of those young uns. What a knobber.

PP3D were also massively screwed over by the judges giving Cherub the win in their battle, too much sentiment in their decision. They should sacrifice some of the speed that the spinner generates as it seems to cause them massive reliability issues.

I've seen some images of what Carbide have been doing to upgrade their robot, should be fun to watch whenever they participate.

Yeah, thought there was some proper bullshit judging there tbh. Like, not really sure how Cherub managed to win two matches whilst a) being taken out together with an arena wall b) getting trapped under a flipper. Didn't realise that having cute kids at the controls was one of the judging criteria.

Shame about PP3D - looked impressive but dogged by reliability issues. Seem to remember it was much the same last year. Eruption's a good machine. Was that four robots flipped out of the arena? Good going.

Yeah PP3D could be immense if they toned down the power of the undercutting blade. Must absolutely batter the internal mechanisms of both robots when that hits. Would love to see a spinner win this year, but I think it will be an ever reliable flipper that comes out on top again. The spinners nowadays are too powerful for their own good which is a bloody shame. The clip of next week looked interesting with some brand new builds and a few enhanced old timers.

Worrabout last night's episode then, lads? Bit good, eh? Carbide looked pretty FORMIDABLE

Not really sure why the two finalists from last year were appearing in the same heat but it made for some good telly (rather more enjoyable than the previous episode in which all the robots fell apart and had to be sticky-taped back together). Wouldn't be surprised to see Apollo back as the wildcard.

Carbide must be one of the favourites to win this now. Perhaps they'll put Apollo through as wildcard then draw them against Carbide again for a 3rd battering.

Yeah, the Carbide boys have really worked on the few weaknesses it had. Looks pretty sturdy, will be interesting to see it against another spinner though. Carbide vs Apollo is a Robot Wars rivalry as good as any other.

Carbide has to be the favourite now after that impressive performance the other day.
It's gonna be very interesting watching Carbide go H2H with Aftershock. Think there's more reliability with Carbide though. After predicting a Flipper would win earlier in the series I've now changed my mind.
