Hartley named captain, controversial but then again Martin Johnson was no angel. Makes sense given Jones' repeated mentions of dominating set-pieces first and foremost.

Joke decision to name Hartley captain, he's spent over a year of his career out through suspensions, it goes against what Jones gave as a description of what he was looking for recently.

Six Nations starts today, who's going to win it? Got to be Wales for me, they've got the most settled team. England and France are rebuilding after poor World Cups and Ireland aren't as good as the last couple of years. Scotland probably had the best WC of all the teams so they might be genuine contenders this year, especially if they get off to a winning start this afternoon.

Wooden Spoon match was up first today, so Italy can have that now. England will win the tournament at a canter.

George Ford is atrocious.

Wales to win it for me.

Good enough from England, but I'm not sure other teams will waste good positions like Scotland did today.

Ireland and Wales draw - very good game and comeback from Wales after a slow start.

What happened to the Sarries?!

Lost 64-23!

Leicester struggling a bit too without the big names..

Good 50 minutes from England, particularly loved that defence in our 22 at the end of the half. This pitch is an absolute shocker though especially for an international.

Absolutely amazing effort by England. 16 point margin and not sure how. If there has ever been a better defensive performance as a team I'd love to have seen it. England really look on the verge of being something special.

Awesone defending from England, even Ford was making big tackles. Can't believe we managed to hold on. Eddie Jones deserves real credit for the turnaround in quality from this England side.

Great series win, I think the most striking thing is how well Australia have played and still been comfortably beat 3-0. The likes of Hooper, McMahon and Fardy have been magnificent with Folau and Haylett-Petty looking dangerous. Sure they've had a few injuries, Foley's underperformed and Nick Phipps has been embarrassing but this is no token win against a transitioning Aussie side or anything.

Jones tactically has been superb throughout - even George Ford is starting to win me over. I'd still like to see Alex Goode replace Brown though.

Nearly at half time this has been an insane effort from the Irish against NZ. Been in a similar position before against them but will never get a chance to knock off the All Blacks.

Nearly pissed it away but finished it off.

Aye, was thinking the writing was on the wall when NZ pulled it back to a 4 point deficit but thankfully Ireland had just enough of a cushion to ride it out. Also helped with Savea having that utter moment of stupidity getting caught behind his own try line.

111 year wait for Ireland that. Brilliant stuff.

Very impressive - been close before but finally got over the line.

Think Ireland play the Kiwis again in a few weeks (at the Aviva)

Poor defeat for Wales score line wise -again have a poor record against the Aussise thought they might give more of a game?

Missed the Warren Gatland influence?

Great start to the autumn internationals by England. Outside of the indiscipline in the first 20 or so minutes just ran SA ragged. Ben Youngs has put on a clinic at scrum-half. SA just keep getting done over by that dummy of his time after time. Got to say though SA look in some state, the rugby they're playing just has absolutely no intelligence or skill to it at all.

Fair play to Scotland as well, putting on a great display against the Aussies. Puts Wales pretty tepid effort last week in perspective.

Was really good yesterday.

I went to it, first time at Twickenham as there was no Championship football, but after the first 20 minutes England were much the better side.

Enjoyable experience.

well this isn't much fun to watch. Strength in depth in English rugby is pretty impressive currently though.

great fun watching all these weird Welsh fans cheer deliriously at beating Japan 33-30. Poor side.

Stop pretending you know anything about any kind of sport. Throwing enough mud doesn't work in this instance.

Isn't this also pretty much a completely new Japanese side compared to the one at the WC last year?

You really are very boring. I watch cricket, NFL and both rugby codes, I am therefore allowed to give an opinion on them and shockingly have accrued some knowledge over the years too by watching them. I'm not sure why you have such a hard time dealing with this.

New Zealand look like they are back in form..

Scots having another close game - doubt another narrow defeat will do them much good.
