Nigel Adkins should be given a blank cheque to write his salary on.

Was always likely Brabin being under so much pressure. Probably the right decision for the fans but not sure it's right given the league start they had. I would imagine a manager with nouse will come in and get them challenging for the lead.

Think its more a case of Brabin losing the support of the fans.
It's not just that, although there is an element of that involved. He lost some of the fans this time last season when we went on a run of 1 win in 10. However, his run of form this season is shockingly similar and it's pretty clear he's not learnt any lessons from last season.

2015/16: 10 points from the first 4 games then 7 from the next 7. Lack of depth in the squad, players out of position and signing strikers left l, right and centre to make up for a total lack of chances being created.

2016/17: 15 points from the first 5 games then 5 points from the next 6. Lack of depth in the squad, players out of position and signing strikers to make up for a total lack of chances created.

Brabin has had Mangan, Norwood, Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Tomlinson, Connor Jennings, Cook, Stephenson and now Almond (rumoured) signed for him in 16 months, yet we still struggle to have shots and score.

He can have no complaints. Decent enough guy, no hard feelings but he's far too defensive.

If only the Tranmere board had've posted on here before appointing him. Must have been at least ten people that predicted this at the time.

You would've had to watch us regularly both last season and this, to understand why it's the right decision.

From the outside looking in, this seems strange, I mean being 5th in the league after 11 games, is a decent start. Is there something off the pitch happened as well or? like I say, I didn't really follow the league really at all last season.

Plays people out of position; Adam Mekki as a central midfielder ffs. Fell out with Mangan, Margetts, Sutton last season, publicly criticised Norwood(probably our best player) and Cook this, while ignoring the problems in midfield, not least from fellow Evertonian and ineffectual captain Steve Jennings.

Think its more a case of Brabin losing the support of the fans.

He made little at to develop a rapport with the fans, there was even Brabin out graffiti painted overnight.

Nigel Adkins should be given a blank cheque to write his salary on.

Why? Didn't exactly set Sheffield alight and I don't know that he's managed at this level. Don't know who's available and we could get, but it may involve an approach to a manager already in post.

Which is why so many FGR fans were happy when Pennock was shown the door with one game to go last season, having watched his team play regularly. It might sound harsh when we had secured our place in the play-offs, but it was the right decision and I didn't hear many fans complaining at the time, some of the players looked far happier with Scotty Bartlett running the show. On the subject of Brabin and Tranmere, if their board get this one right, they should be serious contenders for promotion.

The guy had a good squad having brought in 70 goals to a team that finished sixth last season yet played with a back four and three defensive midfield players meaning we have scored 12 in 11 and no goals in the last three. The man over saw some of the most boring turgid football in the last 15 months I have seen at Prenton Park in over 30 years. After yesterday's fiasco the various websites were full of fans saying they would not go to another game until he went. Our gates are down 3-400 on last season because of the lack of entertainment on offer and that is probably the main reason he has gone and I for one am delighted he has been down the door as much as I dislike seeing a man lose his job but if he was not up to it, which he clearly wasn't, he had to go.

Gary "Tough Place To Go" Brabin was never exactly popular with the fans, losing so many games at home didn't help. Had a very good away record, but devoid of anything resembling a plan B, Plan A being to grab a cheeky 1-0. Fell out with numerous players and played them out of position as previously mentioned. A good appointment here and I'm hoping we'll be ok for at least the play offs, but another Brabin and god help us all...

No surprise to see Brabin given the boot, started well but like last season seem to be slipping into a spell of bad form, clearly don't trust him to turn it around. With the resources they have and the squad they should finish top 5 minimum, dependant on who they bring in should be challenging for top spot.

Did Danny upset you in some way?
Why do dislike him so much?
Not like we've played you this season and beaten you or injured any of your players.
Confused of Lincoln....

Think its more a case of Brabin losing the support of the fans.

There were loads of angry Tranmere fans rushing down the font of the main stand shouting abuse at Brabin way back last December when we knocked them out of the Trophy. He lost the fans yonks ago or never really had any of them convinced in the first place.

Obviously they shouldn't have given him the job, but after making the decision to keep him in charge at the end of last season it does seem mental that they should then sack him when they are only 4 point off the top of the league after 11 games.

Maybe Tranmere will now make a move for the man who was their first choice last summer.

Are tramere another luton? Think they are too big for conference and going through various managers until they eventually get promoted. So they sack a mamager cos 5th is not good enough. Should be gateshead sacking aspin, looking like another season of nothing, dwindling gates and boring football. I sure whish gateshead got half of trameres gates and were 5th in league.

Shame for Tranmere that Jim Harvey's gone to Altrincham. Would have done a great job for them imo.

Would Adkins really want to take a job in non league?

We've not looked really comfortable in any of the games so far this season, even with getting off to a good start. Without taking anything from the opposing managers' tactical nous, the Lincoln and Sutton games were like a return to last season's mediocrity from our perspective.

We spoke to Mills, but whether he preferred Wrecsum or we wanted Brabin more is anyone's guess. His reputation has not enhanced with the time spent over the border and there's no obvious reason to go back now. Apparently we're after someone with League experience, which suggests Adkins.

So you're an exception to those on here with considerable experience of this league who said Brabin was a poor appointment? I'm not going to repeat all the reasons outlined as to why he should have gone or to suggest Gateshead should be content with mid-table obscurity, tempting though that is.

To be fair he did say after leaving Alty he was retiring from football management so he isnt in the market.
He said that after Stockport too though. He must be easily persuaded. I'd still love to see what he could do with Tranmere's budget. :bg:

Gary Mills has managed in the football league.

You obviously wont really be after him though.

I'm aware of the stint at
York after taking them up, but anything else? Agree he's not on our radar now.

Not at all mate, even after we won our first 5 games we scratched our heads wondering how.... Just ask eastleigh, in our last 4 games combined i think we have had less then 5 genuine goalscoring chances.... Yet he buys yet another striker!

If you looked at the players body language yesterday especially as somebody else pointed out as they entered the stadium they wanted to be anywhere other then playing.... It makes you wonder did he lose the changing room.... Just a guess!

Not looked at the betting and he obviously won't get the job, but I'd wager Robbie Fowler is in the top 5 favourites as per everything vacant job in the Conference.
