Defeat as expected. Thankfully it’s another game down without much damage, not that I think we’ll be caught from here from two of Cheltenham/Burton/Vale but it’s nice that none of them won. Four more games and I’ll be happy for the majority of our squad to depart. Terrible season, definitely one to forget for sure.

Great result and performance to beat Barnsley. 11 unbeaten now under Jones and if I wasn't sure before that all but confirms us staying up. Alfie May was untouchable today, gave the Barnsley defence a really tough time and was very unlucky not to get a hattrick. I think we have shown under Jones we can be good enough for the playoffs, just hope that is the case next season.

Bolton didnt really turn up, but didnt have to. record run of games without a goal now. Almost Cheltenham-esqe.

Some gasheads calling for Taylor to be booted already - id happily swop managers next Saturday

Blackpool battered us for the first 45/50 minutes, but we had the better of it after that on the whole, without doing too much with it, but couldn't put away ''THE chance'' when it came, and that was that. Not a match that'll live long in either side's memory, just a windy scrappy one.

Not the worst result in the world all things considered, it's that stage of the season where you end up watching elsewhere more than your own match and we've not done too badly out of it today.

Dreadful game at Sixfields absolutely ruined by the wind. Blowing from one end of the pitch to the other meaning in both halves neither team could get out. Shame for Carlisle to drop but the game was rounded off positively for us with a cracking goal from Ali Koiki who ran the length of the pitch and rounded the keeper to tuck it home.

Another home win, still 11th, having a good end to what’s been a top top season.

Not many teams can say they were beaten by three belting goals from outside the box, but thats what happened to Cheltenham today.

First half I thought we was the better side, might've have had another goal too.

Second half, if Cheltenham go down it will almost certainly be down to lack of goals because they had three golden chances to get back into the game and missed them. Sol Brynn struggled with the wind in the second half as well, which contributed to Cheltenhams goal.

We wasn't quite at it as much second half, but Sotiriou managed to round the game off with a spectacular third.

This pretty much sums it up. We all thought today was going to be tough and so it proved. We gave it a go but only came close to equalising once and we didn’t take the chance. Results elsewhere went well for us so we still need just the one win to get safe.

Feels like a missed opportunity for 3 points in all honesty. The best chances fell to us but unfortunately Wigan have a decent keeper. 10 minutes more and we might have knicked it as we looked in the ascendancy.

Still, it's another point up on all the teams around us and 4 clean sheets in 6, which is really good considering our defence. 13th in the form table over the last 6 games, compared to Cheltenham (21st) and Burton (24th). Feels like we're the form horse at the moment. However, we'll probably be back in the bottom 4 come next weekend.

With a bit of luck you'll be there on Tuesday night.

I'm not expecting us to beat Carlisle mind. I just don't know if we can get ahead and they'll play without any shackles on now.

I'm not big on stats, but our XG being higher than Orient's today shows exactly where our problems lie. I pray Matt Taylor is back soon.

Hah! Stevenage are shite.

Should have had a man sent off, very very lucky to finish with 11 men. Offered nothing, hilarious watching Evans sulking on the touchline.
I didn't think we offered much either! But given that we weren't the ones who had to win, and we played Millenic Alli it's fair enough.

Burton looked like an abject side from two divisions below. We aren’t exactly world beaters but they made us look phenomenal. They were awful.

To their credit, Burton fans gave Josh Murphy a standing ovation when he came off which is testament to them. It can’t be easy watching right now.

Yep. If we don't finish above them, we deserve relegation. They were dog dirt the other week.

Clarke will have you beating Carlisle, I've got no doubt. I think we'll lose on Wednesday. We desperately need to beat a reinvigorated Exeter next Saturday. It's going to go to the last game isn't it?

Will more than take that!
Stevenage are dreadful, not sure how they're that high in the table.
Any team who had an actual striker would have scored a hat full. Got a bit fortunate with the goal, but we take it.

Alli is so frustrating already.. can see he's a player, but so raw currently. Always looking to go himself, and can tell he is used to Conference football, and not the higher tempo of L1.

Safety all but confirmed, that'll do.

In isolation, today was a good point. Sounded a battle at times and Reading actually have a half decent side despite their financial issues.

Shame we couldn't hang on having scored 15 minutes or so from time.

Just about did enough for the win today, helped by an own goal and a dodgy pen. The team looked tired after the strength sapping draw with Derby on Tuesday. Salop were decent and could easily have come away with a point.

The ground was bouncing again. Weird to think that we will be promoted if we win at Bolton next Saturday. It's a tough ask though, and a point will be an excellent result.

Disgraceful dive from Yengi has us behind at the break. Cheating fucker deserves a ban for that. No doubt we’ll get a lovely apology from the ref later on in the week, prick.
Was you at the game? You did well to see from the Milton End. It looks like your bloke pushed Yengi.

Great penalty by Bishop. Onwards and upwards. PUP

Had it on iFollow, seen the replay of it a few times now and it’s 100% a dive. Even your supporters are saying it was a dive tbf. We were unlucky not to come away with a point on the whole today.

Happy for Pompey when you confirm your inevitable promotion though, your fans have always been decent when you’ve visited Salop over the years. Hope you give the Championship a good crack and not bounce straight back down like a lot of teams that go up from this division these days.

I would imagine Portsmouth will have the resources to give it a proper shot at the next level, although I would have said the same about Sheff Wed and look how that one panned out.

Poor quality, lackluster display, we didn't deserve anything and was ultimately decided by an error. Fair play to the Exeter forward for forcing it. Butler lucky not to get a second yellow, seemed the referee wanted to avoid giving out too many yellows today, quite a few players lucky not to get booked so at least he was consistent I guess.

Been saying it for a while but today confirms the season is over for us. Can't knock the squad and management, have done really well to be in contention to this point but ultimately not been good enough for most of 2024 so no real surprise to see the season just fizzle out.

I've slowed it down on Sky but its difficult to say. Looks like the ref had a good view.
I think we just about edged it. Its the result that counts. No extra points for playing good or bad
You didn't look a bad side. tbh I've not seen many bad sides all season. We seem to manage to win how ever we play.

Clear as day that it’s a dive here. Like you say, doesn’t matter now as nothing can be changed but I do hate cheats. Yengi should be banned for that!

Thats a bit harsh wishing that on our Yengi. I'm afraid diving is part of the game. They probably watch to much Prem. I'm not convinced he did dive thou.
Are you based abroad as i didn't think Ifollow was available on Saturdays in the UK. Diving will be the last of your worries if you are using one of them dodgy sticks :bg:

I'm relieved we've won that without playing too well. Shrewsbury were utter dogshit until they scored and seemed to get some confidence out of that. The penalty decision is ludicrous, the foul on Anjorin on Tuesday was much worse and yet no penalty was given, such is the inconsistency of the refs in this league.

Second half we huffed and puffed and one moment of quality made the game safe, There were a couple of times we almost gifted Shrewsbury a goal but otherwise they were poor, but not as bad as some teams I've seen this season.

Get me to Bolton, I'd love to invade their pitch if we won and confirmed promotion!

Portsmouth have done it. Just needs confirmation now. Most consistent team over the season and should deservedly be Champions. I like them as a club. Seem to have a hardcore base who are really passionate about their club, unlike our lardy friends up the road who don't even know who they're playing half the time. Apart from that knobhead on here who is just a bit immature, the others seem gracious and understand that they've endured some pretty dark days among all the Premier league stuff.
