I know he’s one of them I’m just trying to figure out the others

Richard Cranium also had/has a really weird thing about Orient, though he hasn’t posted recently that I’ve seen.

Only 15 mins in but we’re getting absolutely run ragged, not too worried yet though as lots of games last season we started like this but then came good in the end, Notts away in the league after 30 mins we should’ve been 3 or 4 down then for the last 60 put in our best performance of the season and ran out deserved winners.
What a frustrating game. We can't seem to put a decent performance in for a full game. We played so well in the first half and had nowt to show for it. Second half we never seemed to get going and the players were understandavly knackered in the heat. All three league games this season we've conceded from a set piece. Poor and predictable. I am convinced we don't train at them.
Worst start to a season since 2006. Yay.

Oooh. What a shot. Adam Stag desperate for the bell to go here, his legs have completely buckled.

To be fair, Mansfield have spent an entire season in the second tier in the past 100 years so they should be smashing the likes of perennial minnows Stockport and Orient.

Seemed like you went all in for an early goal or two and those missed chances cost you. There was no way that the way you played your first half an hour was sustainable in that heat over 90 minutes. Naive from Stockdale that and while we rode our luck in the first half the more the game went on the more you thought we had a chance of edging it. Hurst got his subs spot on again. And yet again another late goal for this side. We must be comfortably the best in the country at going right until the final whistle.

It’s a good feeling to be almost expecting late goals every week isn’t it?

I know it’s not gonna happen all the time but the amount of times last season and now already in 2 of our first 3 this season that we’ve scored late means we can never be fully written off in games.

Yep, it certainly is mate. Full credit has to go to Hurst and Doig for this as they've obviously worked on set prices and instilled this belief.

There’s a couple of Mansfield fans on here who have a really weird thing about losing to Orient. You’d think they’d be used to it, considering it happens so often.
When the penalty was saved yesterday, I thought never mind , last time we missed a penalty at Brisbane Road we went on to win the game.
However as the half progressed and their keeper having a game of his life, I thought this is going to be one of those days that we will never score and it turned out just like that.

Destined never to get anything at yours

We deserved a point, not that we were particularly great or owt but Umerah missed two big chances and if he'd got one of them who knows. You can also thank Killip for your second goal. Northampton for me not as strong as last season, was expecting their high press and loads of dark arts but didn't see much of that side.

There is some progress, i'm reasonably satisfied with that back 5 but it's midfield and attack that are the biggest concerns. Cooke has a good through ball and set piece delivery on him but he's not a runner and neither is Featherstone or Sylla. Featherstone for me looks off the pace, quite easy to close down these days and not been as effective on the ball. Sylla is a classic enforcer type, I'd possibly bring in Shelton, you know he'll get up and down the pitch and that's vital in a 3 man midfield. In attack,Umerah is a real handful and should start every week. He needs a poacher alongside him, not Hastie who looks all fart and no fire to me.

Hartley still talking about bring players in, I think we've brought in too many, quantity over quality and it's clear after a few games he doesn't fancy some of them. He keeps bringing wingers in but what's the point of that if we're playing 532? Even one of the players midweek said it's been difficult to gel with all the new signings, especially as most haven't played this level before.

Overall, i dont think we're certainties to go down, we are competitive but we do lack in three or four areas. As it stands we'll be in or around the bottom six. Two home games coming up, we really to win at least one of them.
Shelton chips in with odd goal also.

I can't disagree with any of that. Your comeback against Sutton last week raised a few alarm bells so I was relieved to get a point. I'd like to see footage of our disallowed goal because many of us who were behind the goal didn't have a clue why.

I was selling programmes by the club shop and sold quite a few to Donny supporters. A very friendly bunch.
A foul in the build up apparently, from our point of view we were a bit lucky

Juve!? nah PSG or city obviously.

I think yesterday has highlighted cloughs shortcomings.

We knew at the end of last season we needed a CB and another forward.

We still don’t have either.

You can’t dominate games the way we did yesterday and lose.

He’s definitely capable of getting a decent goal return but DJ is purely a poacher, we press high and require a lot of energy something he does not offer. The mistake we have made is not signing a replacement yet but we are trying.

Remember it was this time last season you were saying the same thing about Rollin. Patience is required sometimes to find out the reality! I hope DJ does well either way so we can cash in.
Fair comment he does just pop up the box but is a better finisher than anyone we have had in the last few years and what we have been missing.

We’re missing someone who can finish too.

Ironic that he’s got 5 goals and we’ve had 270 minutes and not scored in open play

*45 minutes. You were piss-all threat in the second half, especially after we scored.

we had more attempts at goal, corners and possession in the 2nd half than we did in the first.

That said i remember getting a 0-0 down there last season when we really should have lost….

Thought you were good value for a point our defence is much more solid this season and almost held out you will do fine from what i saw today at least mid table which would be a big improvement for you wouldnt it?

It would be a massive improvement for us. The last few seasons have been dire - even when we finished 14th a couple of seasons ago we were in the bottom 4 or 5 for about two thirds of the season. I'd be surprised if we trouble the relegation positions this season.

We've got better players in the squad now, better depth in terms of quality but lacking in quantity, we have quite a small squad. Seems like this group has a better mentality about it, doesn't give up and is willing to put in a shift. If we can add another couple of quality players in the right positions and then get lucky with injuries I wouldn't be surprised to see us push for a play off place (at least be in the conversation in the final month) but in all likelihood I can see us falling into mid table.

Whilst I doubt you guys were at your best on Saturday you look to have the qualities to do well. Your back three were solid as anything and in Johnson, you've found yourselves a goalscorer which is key at any level.
