That first half was utterly dredful... Second half, they came out guns blazing, all over us first 20 mins, but then bringing on White and Brown changed the game. About right a point each, despite us somehow not scoring a second in the last 10 minutes.

It's about time a gaffer had a go at Collins, made 3 stupid msitakes within about 8 minutes of each other, and then hauled off when he tried to take 2 players on at once instead of playing in Stansfield who would have been one on one.

Thought FGR were solid, that Brandon Cooper kid will wind a lot of strikers up, but I also think he'll get sent off more times than he scores goals. Could have easily been sent off twice for punches, but of course the referee didn't see them.

Thought the referee was awful today for both teams, let so many potential bad challenges slide, couldn't keep up with play, and when he did, he just got in the way.

Good enjoyable game. We had the better of the first 15-20 minutes, then Ipswich got back into it. in the second half Burns scored a great goal, and then for a good 15-20 minutes it became a scrappy nothing game, where Ipswich were able to manage things. Then Bali scored a a cracker. Both sides hit the bar, ours from Hardie was more of a miss.

I thought Chaplin and Ladapo had good games. I have heard in the past the some think Walton is the second best in the league behind Coops, not on today’s showing he wasn’t. Looked a bit dodgy when kicking, in the first half Hardie almost picked his pocket and in the second he had no idea where the ball went when Wayne closed him down. Had it hit Wains foot a couple of inches to his left it would have gone in and not to the side of the goal.

I heard some Ipswich fans claim we played long ball, absolute rubbish. We have a very fast striker that all CBs in this league are wary off, Gillesphey (3) deliberately plays a curling long pass into space for Hardie to chase. It is not long ball.

Both sides played good football, and while sometimes the stats lie, such as when a team has 30 plus shots and the other wins with their own shot, this one did not. Each side dominated for periods of time, but no one side dominated across the whole game. A draw was a fair result, though one we will be happier with. As Luggy said in our 102 point season in 2001/2, every point is a hostage.

Great win and performance from us today. Could easily have been more than 4-0. Can’t see Burton surviving the drop, especially with Maamria at the helm.

Went ahead after just 19 seconds and minus a goal line clearance, Burton rarely threatened. In fact, I’d go as far to say we could be playing until midnight tonight and they wouldn’t score.

That puts us firmly in midtable obscurity. Unfortunately I don’t think we have the squad depth to gatecrash the play offs. Therefore we’re well on course for our 9th consecutive League 1 season come August.
You can only beat what is infront of you. Well done.
We are fown. Unless we sack this clown tonight. Which we won’t.

I’ll have whatever TractorBoys is drinking

We were well worth a point if not all three being the away side.

We were the better team first half (by some distance). Second half Ipswich were well on top but that’s to be expected at home given the circumstances.

I expected Ipswich to be better and honestly can see why they drop points to silly goals against teams that haven’t been in the game, their defence is very suspect. Before today I thought it was a striker you needed - now I’m not so sure.

High octane game, great advert for league one again between our 2 sides. How Hardie missed I’ll never know.

We've conceded 1 less than yourselves.

Plymouth without question will be the happier of the two teams tonight.

Ipswich actually concede the lowest xg per game in the league. So their defence and organisation is technically the best in the league. The difference is the goalkeeper. Coopers save % is pretty much the best in the league. Walton is like 20th. Plymouth have conceded nearly the most shots on target in the league this season. Cooper is outperforming the avgs massively. If Plymouth don’t go up he’ll be getting bought by someone higher up the leagues next season. He’s an unbelievable goalkeeper.

Our defence has been gradually getting worse. The fantastic stats at the end of last season and start of this are falling away.
We score and then more recently fall to pieces rather than going for a second.

Agree, it was a good advert for league one football.

I’ve seen though a lot of your fans say we have been saying today that you didn’t deserve anything from today and we tell ourselves (including McKenna) that we have a divine right to be in the Prem. I think it’s unfair comments as there’s been a majority of what I’ve seen, Town fans saying things like ‘you can be sure Plymouth will be top’.

I really am starting to think we’ll end up in the play offs and our team doesn’t cope under bigger crowds…

In the grand scheme of things yeah I agree … but he was saying about the defence being the weakness. But that’s not what the stats show. In reality Ipswich just need a better goalkeeper and Plymouth have arguably the best in the league. That’s all I’m saying. And that’s been the difference between the 2 this season.

I actually fancy it against you in the playoffs if we get there more than the other 2 as we usually show up against you. We don’t against Wednesday and we haven’t been able to score against Plymouth in the last 4 games against them

For what it's worth, Walton is superb and far too good for League One - but he's struggled for form more recently this season.

It’s setting up for an equivalent to 99/00 in the play offs, Bolton in the semis and Barnsley in the final  (except one league lower:ffs:)

An extremely fair point. Coops keeps us in games and Schueys tactical nouse and changes is winning games when it looks that we might come up short.

He was crap when he was here years ago on loan and I think he’s crap now, but admittedly don’t watch him often. Just seems awkward, kicking is always bad, not to comfortable with the ball at his feet, maybe I’m just spoilt because I watch Mike Cooper every week.

Yeah, well he really isn't.
Confidence may be a factor. But he's got a good defence in front of him so the dip in form is disappointing.

His save percentage is amongst the worst in the league. It’s around 63% and that’s also with Ipswich facing the fewest clear cut chances and xg on avg in the league. So he is facing the easiest shots (on paper) and still has an awful save percentage. Coopers save percentage is nearly 80%. Huge difference. Gking isn’t all about shot stopping but he looks way off it this season.

Might be confidence but it’s costing you by the looks of it

God bless you Plymouth for equalising in the 93rd minute and winning me £328 on my accumulator.

As for us, we gave it a bloody good go against Derby today. Took the lead early, but then had our pants pulled down by Mendez-Laing for the equaliser. Derby's second is the best goal I've seen at Whhaddon Road in years - screamer right in the top corner from at least 30 yards. It was then nip and tuck for the rest of the first half but Derby seemed comfortable.

Second half was similar until Broom gave the Derby player the ball in the middle of our half and they ran through and scored to make it 3-1. I thought Derby were then cruising to victory until we got one from a free-kick with about 10 mins to go. We laid siege on their goal but nothing would fall for us, but we left knowing we can more than hold our own at this level. We just need to do it against the teams around us and not just those with big followings!!

Yeah, no complaints about that analysis. Hladky nor Coleman are good enough to rest Walton though, IMO.

Need to buy a new gk with that 14m share issue. . Tbf the rest of the team is looking really good now you have Broadhead and Hirst. Maybe that’s the missing link now

Tom there are a lot of considered posters like yourself who make rational posts in whatever forums. However, we keep seeing a number (admittedly decreasing) comments that come across as entitled, disrespectful and quite frankly myopic. All teams have such fans, but there is a sense amongst many Argo fans that Ipswich have more than their fare share of such peeps. As I say, I think gradually we are getting more fans on your, and other clubs, forums who do say very fair and considered things. FWIW, I think Ipswich are a good side, but a draw was fair and if Hardie had his head over the ball we could have won.

Btw, my point above is not criticising viewpoints that we might fall away. This is a perfectly reasonable and coherent opinion, though one our recent additions may temper.

Today was a great game of football, I enjoyed it, a really positive advert for league one football. Surely even Wotan with his one eye could see this? To say Ipswich dominated is utter flapdoodle.

Well, that was pretty shit but at least we didn't lose at home. I think we and Lincoln could have played all night without scoring.

Of course we didn’t dominate and the bulk of Town fans on our forum agree.

Your team were one of very few in the league who came to attack and our defence struggle with that. They got to a point where they were arguing with each other on the pitch.

It was such an important match to win and we failed.

Pleased I didn't go. Been enough times to MK, including the old hockey stadium, didn't fancy it today! If we couldn't win, it was imperative that we didn't lose! Going to be interesting to see how this season pans out!

Are you sure that there were not posts on this forum earlier that used the D word?
I know that your broad point about fair comments being made is correct, but it grates to hear such errant nonsense about dominating from some, especially the first comments on today’s game on this forum.
