Can't agree with that Viking, we'll be right up for it. Full house, close to 18,000 and after a rollicking from the manager in a local derby with the TV cameras and heightened interest.
We may lose but not for lack of effort and being up for it.

That would make such a refreshing change. Notts being up for this game. It's been a longgggggg ass time since that was the case.

Wasn’t the curse broken the last time this fixture was played? Obviously tried to burn that entire season from my memory, but pretty sure the dogshit team that got relegated actually beat Stags at home.

1-1 probably.
We did, 1-0 Craig Mackail Smith I think. Got tonked away though I think.

We are missing al hamadi for international duty so don't be surprised if we draw at.home to Bradford. Think it will be tight 1 nil or a 1 all draw.
I'll take a point. That's my mantra for each match and it's been pretty much that for every match I've attended. A loss against Stockport and a win against Tranmere are the only ones to buck the trend.

If our defence continues as it has so far then I think we can keep County quiet. We’ve got to score 1 at least against their defence, usually I’d take the point but given the last 2 games being goalless at home we need to be looking for all 3.

Fingers crossed no one gets injured and that stupid trophy tomorrow, though I expect the likes of Flint, Cargill, Reed, Clarke and DKD will all miss out. Get Swan and Gale up top and whichever manages to find the net and hopefully some confidence gets the nod alongside Akins on Sat.

Famous last words, but we always score. Only failed to do so twice in about 60 games under Williams, both of those 0-0 draws where the opposition had eleven men camped behind the ball for 90 minutes. Generally if the opposition shows any attacking intent at all, the game might as well start 1-1.

Whatever happens mate I’m on a flight to Dublin Saturday evening so I’ll either be the happiest man in Ireland or the drunkest..

I’m not too worried about our last 2 games in fairness, We should of scored a few against Wrexham and we won’t have that many chances again in a game and not score but against Wimbledon we had all the ball and just created nothing. 2/3 decent chances at the most. Obviously we’re going to have to take at least one to get anything Saturday, I’d be surprised if it’s a high scoring game. 2-1 either way.

It should be a good game, it kind of depends on what you do to be honest, there’s no secrets with us we’ll almost certainly dominate possession and play really open.

I think you play a diamond? If so it’ll be ninety minutes of overloading your full backs and looking for the trademark ball slipped in behind them and cut back for a Langstaff tap in goal that we seem to score all the time, particularly down our right. But we’ll 100% give you space to play through midfield rather than go man-to-man or anything.

Mansfield have obviously got a better defence than us, I’m fairly confident we have better attacking players. I’m no tactician but we’ll have to see how all that stacks up.

If recent games are anything to go by we’ll look like 1970 Brazil for the first 30 mins and pissed up for the rest.

Last season our defence is what let us down and we finished the league top goalscorers.

The lack of goals last couple of games is a combination of injuries (Quinn is our best player for assists) and Oates who is irreplaceable with his directness, plus DKD suddenly not being able to hit a barn door.

We need Swan to hit form, we will definitely start scoring again, too good not to.

I'll watch the Mansfield game, as having played them recently and Notts is away in a couple of weeks, be a decent enough game to watch.

Can't see us getting anything at Wimbledon despite the improved performance against Swindon.

2-0 Wimbledon.

I'm not sure about that. Al Hamadi off on international duty is a big miss up front for us. We don't really have a decent replacement for him. I can see it being a draw.

Cannot remember where this came from, maybe twitter but after this weekend Mansfield have played everyone in the current top 7. Made me feel a tad better about the draws.

Disappointed by Al Hamadi on Saturday at Field Mill, especially after bigging him up to my mates pre-match!

To be honest he couldn't hit a barn door up until recently. Then he scored 4 in 2 game's. We knew he would come good. We had offer's for him in the summer. There will probably be clubs after him in January but I think he will stay with us for the season. If we are to have any chance of making the play offs he will need to stay.

I wasn't there on Saturday however Ali has been working his socks off and has been an integral part of our team. Numerous assists even though he's missed a couple of penalties. He'll be a big miss. I'll happily take a point.

To be fair to him I thought the game on Saturday was one of those where time and space was limited, and nobody in an attacking role for either side had an eye-catching game, defences were on top for both sides pretty much the whole time. I guess that happens when you have two well organised and hard-working teams playing, they just cancel each other out mostly.

Not been on here since saturday and i’m sure everything has been debated but wimbledon we’re full value for the point.

Re county - our best chance of winning i’d imagine is if they come out and play football, the odds of a side out-footballing us isn’t high so i assume county scouts will be realistic and play compact and try and frustrate, given the injuries to quinn and oates in particular this is what’s hurting us.

Then lump on the 11/5 on offer for an away win Adam because we can't really do that. All we ever do is come out and play attractive passing football, it's what we've done the past 2.5 seasons.

I'm sure our scouts and coaches are well versed on our opponents on Saturday but very much doubt it will change our approach too much, especially at home.

Personally I'm hoping for a the ultra rare L2 scenario of an effective passing footballing side meeting an effective passing footballing side with plenty of goals. Who has the most possession might be the determining factor if a tight game , if not the usual who is more clinical when chances arrive.

The local derby element and challenges flying in might change this but bar that we only play one way it's Plan A or Plan A/B with us, we haven't really got a straight Plan B for the obvious reason.

I can honestly see ya going one up top here, just with Gale and Swan both playing the full 90 last night. Or DKD back up top and Maris in behind him. We aren’t going to rock up and play this sort of sexy attacking passing football that only Notts fans are used to seeing.

Pym
Bowery Flint Brunt Cargill
Reed
Clarke Lewis
Maris
DKD Akins.

That’s my guess, I’d move DKD and start Gale, and have Cargill at centre back over Brunt. Macdonald left back and as harsh as dropping JB might be I’d start Johnson.

I'd fancy us against that back four you know, if they're all the players that I'm thinking of then it's four big old units. Looks an absolutely perfect back four for League Two but absolutely not the one you need against the team who haven't put a corner into the box since 2021.

Problem is I'd also fancy us to concede at least two headers to them from their own set pieces.
