Given Gillinghams form most teams would probably look to get a won by there, but with the amount of players we have out (9 injured and 2 suspended) a draw is a remarkable, also given we played the last 20 minutes with 10 men. As predicted the bench was full of under 18s, well I lie it wasn't full we only named 6. 1st half I thought we looked by far the better team and played some nice stuff. 2nd half we tired badly, which isn't a shock as we had no options of the bench and it also wasn't helped by Cooney getting ridiculously sent off. Under normal circumstances I'd be quite glad he's missing a game with suspension, as I think he's been poor and reckless now for a few weeks, but we need all the bodies we can get at the moment. Gillingham will be frustrated they didn't get a winner ad they piled on the pressure 2nd half, a few real heart in mouth moments with the ball pinging around the penalty area, but again can't credit our lads enough, especially Billington coming into the team did fantastic.

Keeping my fingers crossed we get atleast 1 or 2 players back for next week and even more for Chesterfield the week after, bit I'm not holding my breathe.

The highlight of our season. Granted there's not much competition. It took the whole ground a couple of seconds to realise that the ball hadn't hit the net.

Danny Cowley quoted

Macey made a couple of good saves and their goalkeeper made the best save I've ever seen live.

"I thought it was a goal; it was a really good counter from us - a great ball from Ellis (Iandolo), a brilliant ball from Payney and I just thought 'goal'.

"I think Lyle made a really good connection and the goalie has just somehow tipped it over, I don't know how he saved it.

"I know there's a lot of exaggeration in football but I don't remember seeing a better save live".

Great win for us. Said earlier in this thread, it's a chance to show some real progression against a side that we've really struggled against under Artell and we've definitely gone and done that.

I thought we were very good for most of that match, a bit hairier than it should have been at the end after Donny pulled one back but other than that we've dominated one of the better sides in the division in their back yard.

Good time for us to be hitting form.

So, it's okay for Bradford fans to criticise the referee, blah blah blah...

Yet if that was Vale fans, everyone would be all over the posts like a rash giving us all dogs abuse and crying about sour grapes and sarcastic as fuck replies?

Make.it make sense.
I can't say for certain but I think that is probably because you and at least one other Vale fan claimed there was a conspiracy against you?

I think fans of every club have criticised a ref at one point or another. But not every game and mentioning conspiracies is laughable. We’ve had some shockers ourselves this season, being robbed of 2 points against Salford after the ball was a mile over the line was probably the biggest. But officials are just crap, it’s why they’re down here not in the PL.

Nice to hear an honest interview from Donny’s manager too saying we “schooled them” instead of the usual salty ones from twats like Karl Robinson and Steve Cotterill making every excuse under the sun.

In our first stint in non league we had an opposite one go against us, a scramble in the box away at Altrincham and McKeown dived on the ball in front of the goal line and the linesman gave a goal and the ref backed him.
We lost that one 2-1 too so not a happy day.

We had a 3 year long conspiracy against us in the NL culminating in the Bristol Rovers keeper attempting to chop Lenny John Lewis into 2 halves and staying on the pitch...

It was Ollie Palmer not John Lewis, handball outside the box only given as yellow card.

What was Chesterfield's number 2 doing for Walsall's 3rd goal? He completely gave up! Absolutely dreadful.

Poor I agree but he was absolutely knackered and for some reason we kept giving him the ball. He needs a rest.

It was true, first 20 minutes we were better, then one of your players went down with a fake injury (all teams do it) Artell had a chat and changed tactics and it was all Grimsby until the 84th minute. McCann just didn’t adapt with our tactics until then which were mainly gung-ho

On saturday, our goalie lay on the floor for 5 mins while the manager ad a chat with all of the outfield players.

I was surprised at how easily we nullified Ironside and Molyneux. It was obviously our game plan to do that to Molyneux but I thought that would give some of your other players a bit of freedom. Was only really Sterry that carried a threat once we got on top until Street came on. I guess you were a bit leggy from the Palace game.

I think that game highlighted why a lot of Town fans weren't overly bothered about losing Clifton. Great engine on him but he's inferior to all three of the CMs we started. McEachran, in particular, was superb again.

How's Sbarra done for you lot? I was surprised and quite relieved we didn't see him come on, was one of the best players in the NL when we were down there in 21/22 and gave us the run around twice in the league.

There was 3 defenders on Molyneaux every time he got the ball after the first 20 mins, we should have changed things but didn’t. Ironside has been poor and Sbarra has been a real disappointment.

What is the issue with Bradford's red card exactly? Seems to just foul him last man to me?

Looked a straightforward decision for the ref - the other CB wasn’t going to get across to CBR before he reached the box.

finally got around to watching this...our ref v Notts county was mic'd up and went on sky sports to review some of his decisions...obviously not going to go on there and say he fucked it up but there's not a lot of difference between the Tolaj incident and the bradford red...other than newports' attacker went down and Tolaj didn't.

Not sure i buy the explanation from the ref, seems like Tolaj staying on his feet allows him to call it "fleeting" but if you watch the video the only way that the CB can get back and get near to the ball is by grabbing Tolaj and pulling him twice.
