Didn’t something similar happen to you lot last year at Crewe too, can’t remember exactly but I seem to recall you all moaning about something from this same game?
The one last year was a definite penalty, this one looks like an extremely dodgy decision!

That Bromley are such scum, their man got sent off for elbowing our defender in the face who was wearing a face mask after recovering from a broken nose.

I’d not be surprised if they’re battling relegation at the end by the end of season.

The right back in particular is wasted as a footballer, should be a permanent for-hire wind up merchant.
Our second goal against Tranmere the other week was from his cross, he immediately turned to the Tranmere fans and cupped his ear. He loves it.

Job done and another 3 points. Notts looked very toothless but that's understandable given the players missing. I though we looked very strong defensively, Demetriou and Connolly in particular were awesome. Shilow up top has been a revelation, another great goal from him running from his own box.

Top vs 2nd next weekend, it's going to be some game at Vale Park. Maybe worthy of another old school mammoth Vale vs Crewe match thread on here............

Also was nice of Notts fans to join in with our 2nd goal celebrations by adding abit of pyro.

As much as I'd like to stick one over Port Vale, I don't think we've got much chance. We're competing on very different levels with our bank balance and squad depth compared to theirs.

Pretty poor game, Newport had two great chances to win and fluffed them both. Penalty which was gifted by the ref, good save from Wright, then their player kicked fresh air with an open goal from 3 yards.

Thompson made an immediate difference when he came on, need him starting soon.
Yep, looking forward to having him back properly. If, and it's a big if, we can keep him fit from now until the end of the season then we have a much better chance of a decent season. Had a day off Town today so didn't see the match. How was Luker when he came on?
Weirdly after today and a 0-0 I think we are in the play-off / promotion race more than all the random results . Big chance in the next 6 games for us imo the bottom 6 - lets see if it's Town of old or a real new dawn
It's a solid point, isn't it? Still in the top 7, players coming back, chance to turn around the home form in the next couple of matches. Current situation definitely feels like an unexpected Brucie Bonus.

Yep, horrible lot. All us BELTs told you so.
Great goal that.

He had that in his locker with us. Did similar advancing with the ball and a great finish for us against Charlton at home I think it was. Just getting him to contribute consistently will always be his thing.
Thats pretty much bang on how he's been to date. Consistently inconsistent and I'm not sure exactly his best position. He may go on to be an impact sub perhaps.

What an awful way to spend an afternoon, sitting in the cold watching Colchester v Bradford. Utter dross.

Not sure what's happened to the half decent side we looked in August and September, but we are absolutely atrocious. Sick of it.

That sounds exactly like us. Awful game. I should have gone Christmas shopping or something instead. We were lucky to get owt today.

Behave.

Our biggest signing is hugely unlikely to be back for it for a start and likely a makeshift midfield. Plus if you’re using the Graham Westley handbook at the moment we always struggle against those type of sides.

Ugly win settled by a set piece but a win regardless and that’s all that matters. Morecambe I thought they gave us a really hard time as would expect from an Adams team and they seemed to respond to the fired up home crowd.

We’ll need to be better than that if we are to beat Crewe but say what you will on this team they do keep finding a way.

Just to add all the best to Morecambe with getting rid of their owner. The Vale support did get involved with chants against him too (when not aiming fire at Kettle Jnr).
Heard it on TV signing to get out their club. Classy again as per Reading.

We keep grinding out the 1-0s away and whilst occasionally it will bite us like last week it seems so far to be mostly working.

Just need to scrape as many points as we can for the next few weeks until we get the likes of Byers back and if we can keep up there at that point we should be in a great position.

Good to have Hart and Smith back today so that’s two bodies and John is now close too, maybe for next weeks game.

Needed to bounce back and Morecambe have taken points from Notts and Bradford for example so are no mugs. With a few teams dropping points again behind us and Walsall not playing that’s put a nice gap.

We're not really. We're managing games better than we used to but most of the complaints were coming from salty Walsall fans who were just annoyed that they didn't beat us.

It's no secret that Vale have the highest budget in the league, from the manager downwards, and a massive squad. We're not competing at that level in League Two. Nobody else is. Vale have the league title, it's just about who can finish second and third.

Budget isn’t everything look at Carlisle and your second, it’ll be as tough as any game we’ve had so far and titles are not won in November.

For all the budget our current best performer is one fans would have driven away from the club after last season (Sang) and our game changer today was a loanee from Villa (Richards).

It's the depth as much as the individuals. Squad depth wins leagues. I still maintain we'd have got automatic promotion last season if we weren't playing with 6 fit players and no bench.

2 terrible sides who on that display should be relegated. we created zero chances. The 2 we had came from corners firstly through panicky defenders clearing the ball anywhere then the subsequent blocks falling to our players. I suspect the few chances were down to our negative tactics so can I ask the fans of other teams, would you expect your team to go to Colchester and play negatively from the off? Probably the best performer today was the ref who was wise to what Lyle Taylor has been doing for all of his career. The biggest negative was yet another injury, this time to our most consistent player over the past few games.

Regardless of the ridiculous penalty award, deserved and expected defeat, quids in as a result. Naive first goal to concede. Due to injuries lost our clinical side, McGoldrick improved things significantly once he came on.

Demetriou impressed as usual as did a few others. Cooney seems a bit erm special.

Unbeaten away run ends , mid November. No complaints

Notts' fans new all week , when I saw that McGoldrick wasn't starting (wrongly assumed he would be) I bet more than I should and will let my wife know. Crewe were very solid but we couldn't test them without

Jatta
McGoldrick
Jones
Crowley

That's an awesome foursome. Jatta alone would have caused more problems for your centre halves guaranteed.

I thought Shilow and that front pairing were impressive and caused problems to a very solid defence.

Crewe got undeniably lucky with our starting lineup could have been very different with just 2 of the 4 starting.

I thought the ref must have seen something that no one else did, but after seeing it again he didn’t and that was a disgrace. I really don’t like giving refs shit, but sometimes they just invite it on themselves. They must have some deep seated desire to be noticed.

Pretty even game until they scored from our corner, why we had Sam Austin as our last man Maynard only knows. Tsaroulla looked dangerous first half but all the defender had to do was show him outside and that was that. Plenty of injuries but Maynard never looks like he’s gonna make lemonade out of lemons as my nan used to say. Crewe second place? Absolute gash.

Absolute gash? We don't concede goals! We are defensively phenomenal. And defence is part of Football, don't forget.

You created one chance all game, and our excellent keeper dealt with it. You were wide open all game. For around 15 mins before the red card, we fluffed our lines with about 5 counter attacks when you had 1 defender. Your manager is non league and that shows. So naive.

Football fans are infuriating. Same with Walsall last week. Show some respect for a decent league 2 team.

At the moment, we're comfortably beating the bad teams and grinding out results against the good ones, despite not having any fit forwards until the last couple of games. If we keep that up, we'll get promoted, as we should have done last season.

Love opposition fans getting all worked up when a player for another team winds them up. Notts County fans would do well to remember the horrible scum bag that was Lee Hughes doing it countless times. Every team has had utter shithouses playing for them over the years.

I can only imagine Alex Bass was saying something to Cooney in the run up to the penalty, probably trying to put him off, which is what caused Cooney's reaction. Fans forget that players do hear some of the abuse they get from the stands, so I have no issue with them giving some back.

Personally, I'm loving these opposition comments. You'd think we're Steve Evans's Stevenage side reincarnated. We're no better or worse at the gamesmanship than any other side. We just get to do it more often because we're leading in most games. Simple solution is, score before we do and boom, the timewasting and tactical fouls will stop.
