The stand itself is just about okay, it’s the steps and the concourse bit behind that’s the problem, just isn’t safe.
And that’s the problem most of our fans have, they don’t realise the situation in that stand as we have pretty good facilities in the home stands. Must admit the last time I sat in the away end was when it was the old home Popular Side in the 90’s, so I can’t remember what it was like in the concourse.

Reasonable post.

But comments like 'ugly fans shit ground' (to go with the nonce comments last week) are always going to get fans backs up.

Fair enough, I take back the shit ground comment.

I’d add as well that as I’ve said before I find the whining about injuries extremely tedious. Whoever we have out, we’ve got to create more than what we did today. Maynard’s record so far suggests he can only win games when he’s got all of Didzy, Crowley, Jatta and Jones to pick from. Oh yes and after we’ve signed some decent defenders.

Is there any chance he might y’know, coach people to get a bit better?

The stand itself isn’t too bad but the access to it at Crewe, that one entrance half way is a nightmare and get in and out.

Will caveat that say the Notts away end was not great in the concourse either, especially for the loo!

We had restrictions on attendances in the last promotion season and never understood it when the access around our stands was nothing like that with the Paddock for example an open concourse and access in front (not sure what the exact reason was in the end).

As with everything though sorting it comes down to money of course and grounds like Crewe being in the middle of the community don’t necessarily have the room around it like the newer stadiums on the edge of a town or a retail park.

Really, just what has happened to this division when you can no longer win away at Crewe after gambling half of your sizeable budget on Gambian strikers, top end L1 crocks and 36 year olds? There should be some sort of rules in place that stop games from going ahead under the circumstances that Notts had to face today. People will start thinking it's a squad game or something.

Deserved to lose today, we worked hard but we just didn't have enough creativity to go to a top six L2 side and earn a point.
Penalty decision was a shocker I was at the other end and could see he slipped and on slow motion replay he slipped, just a crap decision. At 1 -0 you have a chance, two down with that team and bench and we'd no chance.
I don't blame Maynard, to get to mid November unbeaten away is not bad management and he's not been lucky with injuries at all this season.

Winning back to back away games at Crewe 3-0 isn’t for everybody mate.

I thought Notts were very average at best. They had a few missing, but so did we, and some of our lads on the bench are still not ready for much game time just yet. The penalty looked daft, and Longy probably did deserve a red even though I doubt he meant it, but no way we’re losing that game to such a bang average team, who we seem to have in our pocket the last few seasons, well at least since they have come back from non-league.

On to a week on Monday, big game against the Vale, a proper local derby despite what some say on either side, but in a weird way I respect what they are doing as they have had some basket case owners and managers over the recent years, and they are are proper old school club. But they should beat us shouldn’t they, with all their money and having 3 decent players in each postion (so I have read on here), anything else would be a disaster for them, wouldn’t it?
It’s not a proper local derby. It might be for you, but it isn’t for us. I don’t know one Crewe fan.

Our most complete performance of the season given everyone who started that game played well and worked their socks off. Defensively we're one of the best teams in the league and some Notts fans need to realise not everything revolves around that Diet tiki-taka football they played yesterday, especially in the lower leagues. Defensively brilliant, when have we ever been able to say that about Crewe? And when we're that brilliant defensively we've always got the capability to nick games. But that was a deserved win. Not a dominant performance but we wanted the ball so much we were throwing our bodies into it and winning all the tackles and second balls.

Lovely goal from Shilow Tracey, had the freedom of Gresty Road and slotted home nicely. Penalty was soft I thought and I didn't expect it to be given I must admit. Cooney took it well mind!

Definite red card for Long but was just ill-timed rather than stupidity. It happens. We've not missed him much this season so he's got 3 more games to get fully fit in the reserves.

Thought Notts were all style and no substance and I knew they had no hope of scoring yesterday because of it. All good passing the ball but what exactly did they do with it? Yeah Marschall made a couple of saves but I thought he was pretty comfortable all game. Notts got slightly better when McGoldrick came on but, given all their play went through him, they were easy to stop given they were that one-dimensional. Obviously they were missing players yesterday but so were we. Think Walsall were a much better side than them and I'm expecting a much tougher contest a week on Monday against the Vale who, like us, can defend excellently and have the ability to nick a game by the odd goal!

Are Crewe going to bring more than 1,200 to us?
Should do, I think we had sold that last time we were updated on sales about a week ago. Hopefully a few more bought them yesterday. Shame it got moved to a Monday night though as I'm sure both home and away ends would have been even busier.

Yep, on a Monday night that is excellent for us. We’re not all highly successful colossal clubs like Port Vale

So it’s not a proper local derby because you don’t have many friends?

Bit of a weird one, the Vale games. I always used to see it as a bit of a friendly rivalry, we were almost united in an anti-Stoke alliance with them. Over recent years, as they haven't played Stoke for years and we haven't played any of our bigger rivals either, the atmosphere at the games has got nastier. I grew up in Alsager, which is partway to Stoke, so there were loads of Stoke and Vale fans at my school, and we always wound each other up. But if you live in Crewe or Stoke, you probably wouldn't know m/any fans of the other team. I'm a bit old and stuck in my ways, so although I enjoy a bit of rivalry with Vale, I don't hate them, and it's the closest thing either side has to a derby at the moment, I dunno if I'd quite call it a derby.

I've got lots of friends. I don't know any Crewe fans either. Considering I live maybe 15 miles away, I don't think I've ever set foot in the town centre of Crewe.

Back in the 90s, a lot of Crewe fans were actually Liverpool or Man United supporters and Crewe were their second team. I even remember seeing fans turn up to the game with Liverpool paraphernalia on.

Just another game for us, albeit a big game considering the position of the two teams. I honestly thought Crewe would be lower mid table. They looked to have shipped out a couple of their better players and on paper, their signings looked a bit underwhelming.

After that Chesterfield game, there were some calls for Lee Bell to be sacked. He seemed a bit out of his depth but I think he's doing a very good job.

I'm glad the true definition of the Vale Vs Crewe rivalry is finally being investigated this season by the fans of both clubs. It's been long overdue.

Good luck to all involved.

I've heard this a lot but I just don't think it's true. No more so than any other team in the EFL anyway. If someone turned up wearing merch from another team, it would really stand out, and I don't remember ever seeing it. The only Crewe fan I've encountered who is also a Liverpool fan is my nephew, but he is growing up in Liverpool and his Mum has a season ticket on the Kop.

I've always thought we'd be right up there this season. We should have gone up automatically last season and we only really lost 3 important players from last season and they have been replaced well, we've clearly improved on some areas (we no longer have a completely hopeless keeper) and sone of the kids who played a lot last season are one year older
