I'm pretty pessimistic, and it feels like last weekend could knock the stuffing out of us a bit - everyone expects us to fall away and we'll most likely end up mid-table, but we should still be able to give anyone in this league a game.

Foley has been incredible, by the way. I don't think I've noticed him before this season but he's so effective at breaking up play and mixing up his passing - he doesn't always just go for the easy option and pass it backwards.

I've got this one down as a draw, but don't really know a lot about how you've played this season.
Think Foley was a bit underrated during his time with Rovers, could do with his experienced head at times in our midfield this season

We’ve been erratic this season but looking better now we’ve settled on a 442. Main issue the lack of firepower, though after Nevitt came off the bench to score our last minute of added time winner, expecting we’ll revert to the usual pairing of him and Hemmings.

Awful record against Harrogate. It’s a big game for them, understandably.

Halliday back from suspension. Wright back from international duty, but Scott Banks misses out through injury.

If Critchlow is fit, he has to start, for me.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Matty Platt
CB: Romoney Critchlow
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Gilliead

RW: Dion Pereira
CAM: Harry Chapman
LW: Tyreik Wright

ST: Andy Cook

Fancy us to stuff ‘em.

5-0

Home v Cobblers in what should be a good game. Jonny Williams is back, as is Louis Reed who will be looking over his shoulder with Saidou Khan looking first class v Grimsby last Saturday before getting 2 dubious yellows. First of a run of games against those who have started well - Cobblers, Bradford and Mansfield - with a couple of supposed gimmes in Colchester and Hartlepool. 10 out of 15 would do nicely.

5-0? Yes, please. As you said, it's a big game for them, so I expect them to put in their best performance of the season. It would feel like we're really on the up if we can beat these bogey sides.

Gutted I'm not going Carlisle, right up there with my favourite away days, but train strikes put pay to that. Its just not the same on the coach. Would usually take 4-500 it will probably be half that now.

We're a very solid team this season if not spectacular, all our game have been decided by one goal bar a home game vs Harrogate that we won 3-0 and a 3-0 loss at Salford where we had 10 men for 70 minutes in a heatwave. Key to us being so solid have been ex Carlisle pair Rod Mcdonald and Kelvin Mellor, both have barely put a foot wrong so far.

Very glad we've got Williams and King back from international duty, they were both big misses last week.

Carlisle 1-1 Crewe (Dennis, Agyei) 5,400 (250 Crewe)

Rochdale at home last season perhaps?

I've a good feeling about our team and Saturday now. I think Crewe are going to be in for a drubbing.

Yeah that was 2-0. Really struggling to recall a 3 goal margin though.

Rochdale away, nailed on draw
Thought you'd be confident of a win?! Had a decent start Donny.
We have one of, if not the worst home record in the EFL over the last 5 years so you should expect at least a point.

The amount of points we have isn’t a fair reflection on how we are playing. I’m never confident at the moment we’ve been bad for far too long now

You are doing better than i thought you would have. There seemd to be a lot of doom and gloom around your lot over summer. My memory tells me we seem to have a half decent record v Donny so who knows with tomorrow. Any point helps us so I'll be happy to not lose tbf.

Actually. I want a repeat of this. Weather might be similar at least.

Yep always seems to happen at your place, hence why I’m not confident

Other than the horror show against Rochdale, our home performances have been ok, nothing extra ordinary or anything to get excited about, but ok.

With that in mind, I don’t expect us to get beat given we haven’t lost at home yet. But after reading that Crewe are a solid team, that coupled with the distinct lack of inventiveness and creativity in our team, I can’t see us having enough to beat them.

Carlisle United 0-0 Crewe Alexandra

Watching the game.

Mansfield have totally dominated, but credit to Hartlepool, they are digging in, heading and blocking, bodies on the line. Certainly doesn’t look like anyone has downed tools.

The Mansfield offside goal looked close, but hard to tell fully due to the player being off screen when the ball was played.

Can actually see Hartlepool frustrating Mansfield and getting something. It would be such a typical Curle relegation battle performance.

We’re now playing without a recognised striker and Callum Cooke plonked upfront.

Go out to walk the dog at half time, come back in and I’ve just missed a goal.

The Mansfield number 2 Gordon looks a good player.

Comedy of errors that second goal. Rome wasn’t built in a day. And you play us next week. We like giving teams the leg up they need.

Funny how we decided the game was entirely won and just got complacent enough to hand Hartlepool a goal on a plate.

Knew pools would get something here. What they lacked in quality they’ve made up for in spirit, digging in and not giving up.
