5.30 AM: Alarm. Wake up.
5.35 AM: Out of bed and do my daily 100 situps.
5.45 AM: Bounce downstairs feeling revitalised and fresh ready for another day of expert football forumming. Put the coffee on.
5.48 AM: Time for my first Artell post of the day.
He’s definitely NOT got any agenda though, remember.

Not only have we scored twice in one game, but we've also managed 80 minutes without conceding. Not sure what to make of this.

Bizarre game at Notts. Disheartening to lose but hard to be negative as I think we’ve done enough to get a result, just not our day.

Jones going off injured is by far the worst outcome of the day

Be interested to know if Gills goal was offside because we’ve been absolutely robbed by that linesman if so

Draw in the end and we were the better team over the whole game but couldn’t get the winner

Fair does to Gillingham, very organised and hard working and stretched their luck as far as it’d possibly go. Think we’re about the third team to say that about them so it’s probably not sustainable over a season, but great start.

Far from our best but obviously should’ve got something from the game, but got to take your chances at 0-0 against a team like that. The disallowed goal was bizarre, never seen a flag go up that late.

Decent point away at Bradford. Could have micked it at end. My confidence grows week on week this is a top 5 or 6 side. Bradford had better of first half bit how hippolytes in second half didn't go in. Must have been an inch in it.

Good performance from us at Bradford. . An even first half but we were the better team 2nd half and were unlucky not to score. Deserved to win.

Although Gills defended deep and very well as a team and scored a very tidy goal I am not sure how we haven't scored and got at least a draw.

Austin didn't look offside at all. Linesman doesn't make a decision for an age.

Jones was again the best player of the pitch but hobbled off late on.

Second half we were average and not a lot happened. We created little and Gills went unambitious. First half we played well and missed two sitters as well as a very smart save from a Jones rocket from distance. Have to do better than hitting the post and putting it wide from that close.

Impressed with Hutton and Gbode in a very solid looking Gills side.

Positive performance, disappointing result.

Staggered we've walked away with the three points there. County missed two absolute sitters in the space of three minutes in the first half and although we had some reasonable chances we couldn't really have complained had we gone in at least one down. I was in the process of texting a mate to say Nevitt was looking a little isolated up top as he raced onto a cracking through ball dumped Bass on his arse in cool fashion and rolled it into an empty net for a fortuitous halftime lead.

Second half County didn't really hit the same heights, we dug in and looked for any rare chance to break.

That last ten minutes was HORRIBLE to watch given our lead, my heart fell out of my arse when you "equalised", I looked over at the lino, nothing, felt awful and then a big cheer goes up from our lot and there is the yellow flag of our saviour arriving nearly a full minute after the goal.

Well chuffed for all of those who travelled, Notts will definitely be there or there abouts come May.

Have to say I do like Nottingham as a city and Meadow Lane as a stadium despite my clearly rarely used seat right at the back of the end block being encrusted in pigeon shit.

Sounds like the ‘equaliser’ could be a shocker of a decision according to Maynard. Lino thought Brown had got a touch in the middle (which is presumably why it took so long to work that out), but reckons he’s seen the replay and he was nowhere near it.

3-0 win at home against Harrogate. I was a little worried after their game against Doncaster, but I shouldn't have been.

That was brilliant.

Every player was immense today, but a special shout out to:

Conway - kept his flank locked down, made excellent forward runs and looked very dangerous. Deserved man of the match for him.

Thomas - I've said before and I'll say again, we're a worse side without Thomas in it. Not a glory player, although he got the assist for Lanks, but absolutely rock solid and wins us possession far more than he's given credit for.

Marschall - didn't have a lot to do, but those saves he made at 2-0 absolutely won us the game. If they go in, we're 2-1 and backs against the wall for the last ten minutes, but he kept them out with 3 fantastic saves, the last of which was world class. He's looking like a very good shot stopper and today he was absolutely there for us when called upon.

Lankester - wow. What a game. He looked lethal, the type of player teams hate playing against. Ran himself senseless and controlled everything. Made good runs with and without the ball, linked up brilliantly, and deserved the goal he got. I'd have put him as MOM if he'd stayed on longer than 70 minutes. He was superb today.

That's no disservice to every other player, they were all class, but that's my personal picks.

Best game of 2024. Great day!

Absolutely dominant today. Controlled the game from start to about the 85th minute, when we had a little wobbly, but quickly grabbed the 3rd to kill it off. Good football, attacking intent, goals, everything we could have asked for.

Harrogate were shocking and resorted to diving to win free kicks and had a little flurry late on, but they didn't deserve anything. Best win under Lee Bell for a long long time, especially at home. Let's hope they can keep that up.

Didn’t see our game as had been at the West Ham v Chelsea game today but sounds like we were rather fortunate to get a draw but a point it is nonetheless. Just goes to show you can’t take any team in this league as a given for winning against them.

Poor game of football, wombles fans seem easily pleased. That said their players were more interested in headlocks and ripping shirts about than playing football.

A game that will be forgotten about by 7.

Did Richards pick up an injury? Or was it a poor sub?

Top of the league!

It's been a long time since we completely dominated 90 minutes in that manner, Farman had a deck chair out at one stage being served G&Ts. If we had a bit more quality in the final third it could've been a bigger win which the dominance deserved in all honesty.

Newport were very poor, Hudlin is erm, an interesting player. They had a couple of good wins to start the season but on what I've seen they'll struggle down the bottom end.

I thought this at the time, it's the only excuse. I didn't think Brown touched it, I reckon the fact the keeper has expected him to and been taken out of the game has sold it to the ref.

I’m not saying it wasn’t a decent result, not even a bad one for us against a team I think will be up there. But the actual game was dreadful imo.

You said you deserved the win because you hit the post twice with one shot, so I won’t take offence as you clearly either didn’t watch the game or have much understanding of what goes on.

I'd take what the Bradford supporters say with a pinch of salt. We played well in the 2nd half and they were fortunate to get a point.
