We never play well at Newport and I don't see that changing this weekend.

Hughes knows his job is on the line and by the sounds of it will rush back Cook before he's ready.

Defeat here and I think he's done.

Colchester just screams of a banana skin. Most Crewe fans will expect a win, given our recent form and our home form (11 unbeaten)

But Colchester are no mugs and there recent form looks decent, unlucky not to have beaten Mansfield on Saturday by the looks of things. We have some tough games on the horizon so 3 points is quite key if we're to challenge in and around the play offs.

I'm going for another win, but a tight game in which more than likely we have to come from behind again.

Crewe 2-1 Colchester (Long, Baker-Richardson, Akinde) 3,850 (200 Uwes)

Continuing our run of cannon fodder teams to put away with… *checks notes* the fourth team out of nine games who were two leagues above us last season. ;)

Donny away for us - In news that will excite absolutely no-one, our last 4 meetings with Donny have all finished 1-0 either way, so I'll go with the same again. Looks to be a good weekend to win though with several of the early pace-setters having games against sides in the bottom third of the table.
Wasn’t that after a fair few draws? Never much in it but given how wide open we are at the back and that we had 13 players out on Saturday with no real clue on return dates and the fact we can’t go more than one game without defeat there’s a good chance Gills will score more than 1

As a recent league 1 team up against a side just recently promoted from non league, I’d argue we should actually be favourites for this one. I’d probably take a point though tbf.

I’m just excited that, one week after Matt Smith trying to lumber in behind our mad high line, we get Troy Deeney trying to lumber in behind our mad high line.

I think so, certainly remember a 0-0, 2-2 and 3-3 at your place in the not too distant past. As you say, never much in it between us, can see that continuing on Saturday.

Not a cat in hell’s chance are we getting anything from Newport, at best maybe Cook might poke in a goal using one of his crutches.

Wrexham's cup final this. Parky will have them lined up in suits getting off the coach etc.

It will be a good test for our young players. The two previous National League Champions but that is probably where the similarities start and end. Two very different approaches.

I imagine the Wrexham supporters and the neutrals expect a comfortable away win and to win at a canter. It will be fascinating to see if Phil Parkinson can deliver.
Our 'cup final' lol! You mean the same game in which you've sold out when you've had loads of empty seats in previous weeks!

The obsession from what I have witnessed is very much one way and that's your obsession with Wrexham.

Paying to fly a plane over our ground says it all!

Definitley a cup final for some of ours, no doubt about it. Part of me isn't looking forward to it actually. I wish you hadn't signed James McClean, our more "animated" fans seem to be obsessed with Rangers, British flags and all that shite. They start singing about the IRA when we're away at like Harrogate Town so I really can't be arsed with them on Saturday.

It's not a cup final for me. It's slightly bigger game because I think you're one of the best sides in the league. A good game, with a bit more of an edge than playing 95% of the league is welcome but I can't be arsed if it's going to turn into nonsense. A bit surpirsed it wasn't moved to a lunchtime kick off as I saw your game with Tranmere was. I imagine the plan is to wrap up the away fans considering I think you've got a low allocation so should be more manageable.

Some people are really bloody odd. I'm sure when we play Gillingham on Armistice day you'll get his stance on the poppy dragged up again by the Daily Mail readers.

I think with our supporters, it's more a Protestant, Loyalist element than the Ingerlund type stuff. I'm Catholic on one side and in certain pubs with our lot I don't think I'd be too forthcoming about shouting about it which is sad but possibly necessary for an easy life.

James McClean to these people will be like a red rag to a bull.

There seems to be a big Protestant thing once you get over the Pennines and past Manchester and then it gets even more evident when you get to the coast. Loads of English Rangers fans in places like Morecambe and Blackpool.

In Manchester, United tended to be Catholic and City were Protestant. Stockport as a town is a Man City supporter hot bed and always has been (hence why they're actually my most despised team and always will be). Rangers, Chelsea, Hamburg, Man City tend to be "Blues Brothers". There's always been an undercurrent in our support, particularly with our biggest "firm" with Loyalist emblems etc. It's got stronger in the last few years. It's pathetic.

In the interest of balance, Liverpool as a city have really gone to town on being anti-monarchy, left wing etc. Not always been the case they make it out to be.

Manchester as a City has strong Catholic history. United are probably more of the inner city team in my view, most outside the City don't believe that with all the United fans from London stuff, ground coming under Trafford constituency etc.

Interesting that there is rival sections in the united fan base, being in the borough of trafford you actually see the “real” united fans, many who for whatever reason have this dim view of catholics/celtic and the lot, but of course loads of fans travel over from ireland to watch who are clearly more affiliated to the latter.

Personally i think it’s all a nonsense, but that’s just my humble view.

95% Irish immigrants who came to Manchester with an interest in football would have become United fans.

We should beat Salford at home, especially if extra time is short. They will probably beat us by 3 and we'll be caca

That was the point. They just sing it everywhere with no relevance.

A high line eh, not sure we’ll be running you ragged with our strike force of Deeney & Taylor having a combined age of 70, but you never know. Maybe your defence are even slower.

You've not heard about our crazy high line Chris, it is what's going to be our undoing at the elevated level of League 2.

We have 1 painfully slow defender, 1 average and 2 mobile who aren't short of a yard of pace.

Would love to include our very speedy wingbacks in that list but they are usually so high up the field they don't count.

Last time we met at their place, Stockport were cancelling tickets based on having an LL postcode, as they expected away fans in the home end.

I doubt it. We sell out most "big" matches. We had sell outs most home games back end of last season.

Wouldn't advise Wrexham fans going in our end tbh.

We always go to Mansfield as big underdogs - but have somehow managed to win the last 3 games there. I agree that the game could go either way. Telford, Procter and our defence are due a goal.

Think that game last season when we were 2 up and lost 3-2 was the closest cloughs had to a bashing from the home support, the fans really turned on him and the players that day.

As said a few days ago, if there’s 1 side who can end the run it’ll be you boys, id imagine clough would be expecting a performance after the highly disappointing result and performance at colchester.

Second longest odds of the day in league 2....5-1 for a win, that is a cracking crazy price.
