I will start it off with the big match: Grimsby Town v Carlisle United. We are blowing hot and cold with some good football intermingled with some really sloppy stuff, but we have goals in us. Carlisle appear to be playing well but unable to score many.

After picking up 7 points away from home in 8 days we managed to completely balls it up at home to Harrogate on Tuesday evening, expecting Ollie to have sorted that and if we can field our 'better' midfield rather than the lightweight youngsters he selected for Tuesday we should be OK.

3-1 to Grimsby Town.

Oldham away, big game for us after 3 defeats in 4 league games.

Looks like Amoo and Mills will be available which is a boost although expect neither will start. Generally struggle against the lower teams so if they pack the middle and keep it tight then it could be another frustrating day.

With Cheltenham to follow a positive result is needed here.

Would like to see Amoo start if fit enough.

1-1

Here's how it's all going to go down:

Exeter 3 - 1 Scunthorpe. The Grecians go 2 up early doors only for scunny to pull one back with 3 Exeter players receiving treatment as the ball goes in. Ref gives the home side a late penalty to make up for it.

Barrow 2 - 5 Walsall. Barrow go 2 up only to concede 5 in injury time (2 minutes added on).

Bradford 1 - 1 Newport. I legitimately couldn't thing of a single interesting thing to say about this game.

Cambridge 6 - 0 Bolton. Bolton are only able to field 2 players due to unprecedented injury levels. Mullin scores 5 whilst brandishing a tiny violin.

Cheltenham 2 - 0 Mansfield. Despite littering the playing surface with greased £20 notes and £2 coins, Mansfield are soundly beaten by a brutally effective Cheltenham outfit.

Colchester 2 - 1 Harrogate. Harrogate go one up with some stylish attacking play only to take their foot off the pedal, dunno why but I think Colchester might actually be quite good this year.

Grimsby 1 - 1 Carlise. Carlisle score in the dying minutes thanks to their 58 man squad.

Morecambe 2 - 0 Forest Green. Heading into half time 0-0, but thanks to Ebou Adams flinging himself to the ground every time the ball goes near him the ref adds on 18 minutes, Morecambe score twice during this period. Adams breaks both his legs trying out a new, experimental method of simulation in the second half and is red carded on the stretcher.

Oldham 0 - 1 Port Vale. Vale take a very, very unconvincing 3 points with a scrappy tap in following a controversial corner decision in the 87th minute. The forum topics next week include 'Vale '20 vs The Class of '92, how badly would United lose?', '18 more reasons why Cambridge were lucky to beat Vale last week', and 'The conclusive story of how Robbie Williams made Take That Stoke's favourite band'.

$alford 1 - 2 Crawley. At least I hope so. Scholes' half time team talk is so lacking in charisma that it actually demotivates the home team to capitulate in the second half.

Stevenage 1 - 2 Leyton Orient. Perennial overachievers Stevenage find themselves 1 up and their staff jubilantly invade the pitch following a 13th minute own goal, sparking scenes of wild debauchery not seen since Bolton drew against Barrow the other week. Orient miss 18 guilt-edge chances before sealing the win.

Tranmere 0 - 0 Southend. Ref calls the game off at halftime, citing 'professional embarrassment' as the reason. States, with conviction, that Bon Accord would have either team 8 - 0 is his post match interview.

I mean, we should win, but I doubt we will as we were awful against Southend and we were shocking for the first 45 mins against Crawley.

That being said, a healthy 3-1 for the Grecian. C'monnn

Happily take a win up at Salford....dubious about our chances though. We played well for 60 minutes on Tuesday then realised we might win and fell apart. We did the same at Oldham but they did not quite have the players to take advantage.

0-1 after 70 minutes. 2-1 at full time.

Casey

Ps. Interesting interview by John Yems at the end of the game where it was all the fault of stupid questions and players not sticking to what they were told.

We will be full of confidence going into a game on paper we should be winning. However Bolton's run of form surely cannot continue and they will get a result sooner of later.

We seem to come out the blocks and get early goals. If we do this I can see Bolton's heads drop and it could be a long afternoon for them. Do Bolton play 4-5-1? If so then I can see us matching them with the same XI that started against Port Vale.

Ebou Adams flinging himself to the ground every time the ball goes near him? What sort of a far fetched prediction is tha.....oh.

We don't often do well up at Morecambe, but we're playing pretty well so as long as we aren't still on the bus for the first 10-15 mins, like we have been in our last 2 away games, then reckon we could get something. Aaron Collins will probably score for a change given he's playing his old club.

How do 3 of Bolton, Tranmere and Southend all go down? Bolton is pretty much confirmed so aren't we just looking for one relegation spot left?

Assuming you can actually read (quite the leap of faith I know), you'll notice I actually commented on several teams, not just bolton.

On a serious note, do you really expect to get anything at all from Saturday's game?

I think Bolton will go directly to the NL North, to allow for the usual 2 to drop into the NL.

Can we win at Cambridge...Certainly
Evatt has a belief i have not seen in many, but that is at the moment Boltons Downfall.
Loaning Crellin from Fleetwood was a big,big mistake.
He may well turn out to be a decent keeper in two or three years time but he is not ready for league football
Neither is our Reserve Goalkeeper who is a year younger at 18.
He actually played a right footed centre back at left wing back at Barrow and had 2 lwb on the Bench.
Midfield is pedestrian, everything about Evatt team selection is baffling

Anyone can beat anyone at this level on a good day. Wouldn't be a major shock if Bolton got something, maybe being underdogs might suit them. Nothing to lose etc.

We'll finish the season with exactly 23 home draws and 23 away losses.

Southend at home. Can we both lose?

:bg:

My head has gone numb having watched both the Newport and Orient games on Ifollow.
Will the Southend keeper have a save to make is the big question? Course he will and we’re going to win 2-1.

Short pre-season won't have helped Evatt tbf. That squad should definitely be up there.

That was not the case he had longer than most.....Trouble was he in my opinion he made a almighty bollox in that first game of the season by not including any player who was here last season.

I Didn't realise at the time on Tuesday night how well we worked on the build up to our goal, this is pretty much how we've been playing under Embleton for 12 months. Retaining possession, pulling teams around and usually being able to create chances

If only we could actually get some consistency off the ball in a team shape, when we're on the backfoot in games
