My inclination is a draw in the Rovers v Southend game. Hard to see where any goals are coming from, with Vaughan unlikely to be fit enough to start.

The way he was isolated by our team selection on Tuesday didn't augur well. Hopefully Mike Jackson has learned from his mistakes and will put someone closer to him, if not go 2 up.

If you are playing up top on his own then forget it. He's not a target man but if you give him the ammo he is a natural finisher. Prefers to play off someone.

Our difficultly at the minute is we can’t seem to get our best XI on the pitch twice in a row. I’m absolutely convinced our best side would make the playoffs this season, but how often we’ll see that side remains to be seen.

I do think we’ll see that side tomorrow though, 3-1.

We need to play better than Tuesday, we got away with that one.
I would like us to play two up front, and to see Randall come back in.
We appear to have a bit of a keeper crisis with a 15 year old on the bench, so need to wrap up Lewis Ward in cotton wool.
I suspect Scunny will have a go so I hope Sweeney is switched on.

2-1 hopefully. Att: 0

Hard to call against Morecambe, would be reasonably confident if we had the full squad available...but sadly we haven't. Cooper didn't give much away in his pre-match interview yesterday, talked about the usual sorts of things, our issue with creating lots of chances but being able to stick the ball in the back of the net. It all sounded a bit like last week, the same sort of comment, then we were hit with the bombshell an hour before kick-off that one of the players had tested positive for the virus and three others gone into 14 days isolation. I really hope the same thing doesn't happen again tomorrow, otherwise we might struggle to get a team on the pitch, have an almost empty bench or have to raid the academy for back-ups.

No disrespect to Scunny but we really ought to be winning this one. They appear to be struggling so imagine they will be going all out to rectify that, but we should have enough to win. 3-1 City as we rarely keep a clean sheet

And that scoreline is conservative because Lew has factored in not having three additional goals from Anthony Glennon's hattrick which would have surely happened had we managed to bring him in on loan.

Yes no disrespect to Scunny but they look absolutely fucking dogshite. Still, at least the atmosphere at Glanford Park is pretty much the same as a normal season so they can't blame it on that.

Big call on Evatt team to face Cambridge..Tom White back a month earlier than expected. Delfouneso back after his wife as given birth. Lloyd Isgrove and Shaun Miller available after coming through a two week boot camp to get them fit.
And the player who Evatt does not seem to rate Ronan Darcy who eventually got to show Evatt what he could do with the last 10 mins Tuesday against Barrow Ten mins 10 touches 7 crosses and a assist.
So in Effect 5 decent players extra to select from.
Baptiste is awful as is Comley........Crellin is not yet good enough for first team football
Sarcevic and Crawford are too alike and because of that they are both not controlling the game which they are both capable of doing.
Big shout Mr Evatt.....

If you're aggressive and get up in Cheltenham's faces you might have some joy. They looked susceptible to counter attacks and pacey wingers vs us. You look like you're trying to tippy tappy your way out of a dogfight from the very limited amount of Stags (exclusively Quest/Sky "highlights") I've seen though?

Bolton fans know best, remember that folks...
Has anyone flagged Comley up as a weak link for Bolton yet? Decent enough player at this level, but not for a side with title winning aspirations.
All part of the system, looks a very tidy and active player, there to keep the ball moving and harass the opposition. Don't think he'll be a weak link but if he is CM isn't a position where we're lacking options so it's not too concerning.
Really.......He had the highest pass completion rate in this league last year.....what more do you want from a holding midfielder

You need to read back the last 3/4 Saturdays after the teams are announced......on record here as saying Baptiste, Comley and Crillen should be no where our first team

Even said it after the teams were announced against Grimsby........you like putting old posts up.....perhaps you could put that one up

Buuuut, I thought you did know all about Evatt and all your new signings?

Yes, I have read all of those posts and not one of them acknowledged that I was correct. If I was you I would have said something along the lines of:

"Well well well. Comley, a player I lauded as fantastic in pre-season, hasn't been great so far. However, I am man enough to admit that I called this one wrong and Son of Cod, who has seen Comley play multiple times, was once again correct."

It's there in black and white. Bolton sign Comley. I said he wasn't good enough. You said he was. Turns out he isn't good enough. You're too much of a sore loser to say sorry.

I thought you were actually alright and quite funny before this, but you've disappointed me here and I will now be piling in with the rest of the masses in future regarding any Bolton tomfoolery.

I’ll be completely honest, I’m not sure what our style is yet, and I think that’s one of our problems thus far. Scored a great high quality goal against Morecambe and we can ping it about, but we also like to lump it up to players that have no aerial threat either lol.

We do have a selection problem, GC decided to scrap the three at the back because of how terrible we’ve been, but our only proper LB Benning has got Covid, which resulted in a RB playing LB and a CB playing RB. I think that will give Cheltenham too many chances.

Mansfield haven’t won a competitive game since we beat Northampton away in March, the last game before the season shut down. Shocking stuff.

Was it Coughlan than signed Jordon Bowery ? I remember watching him for MK Dons and he was one of the worst players i've seen in a long time. He basically was just going through the motion --- without any end product. Very poor player.
