Fancy us for a dispiriting 1-0 defeat in a dire game at Stevenage.
I was going to say the same thing, at the start of the week I said that after we lose on Tuesday, Ross had to win this to keep a large chunk of the fans on his side.

Tuesdays win has bought him a chunk of time, but I can see if we lose tomorrow the same uncertain fans will start grumbling again due to Stevenages poor record in the last 12 months. Having said that, he will get away with a draw and 4 points from two away games in a week.

We're missing 6 or 7 due to covid and injuries, Forest Green could run riot if they have a half decent side out. Collins is most certainly scoring, revenge for living on a sofa bed for 6 months whilst playing for us.
Perhaps we need to get him kipping on one, he had a decent strike rate for you IIRC.

I think Rochdale may have dodged a bullet in not appointing (as was rumoured) Evatt to replace Hill 18 months ago...

If Bolton picked a team where players played in positions they were comfortable and competent in playing in, it might be a start. A 4-4-2 of Gilks: Jones/Brockbank/Delaney/Gordon : Kioso/White/Darcy/Sarcevic : Doyle/Defonouso is not world beating, but ought to get some points in. Crellin/Hickman/Taft/Miller/Tutte/Crawford and one of Faal/Amaoteng on the bench.

You know a great deal more than a lot of Bolton fans i know..I have a feeling you live in the town....That first team you selected i feel is not to far off what i think is our best team.
Santos is a must in the middle to partner Delaney Jones r/b and i think Greenidge may do a job at l/b
That midfield would comfortably be the best midfield in either lge 1 /2
Up front i may swap Isgrove for Delfounso

Comfortably the best midfield in Leagues 1 and 2?

Does it never cross your mind when you’re making these wild statements that you’re setting yourself up to have the piss ripped out of you down the line?

Lose today and I think the pressure will soon be on Askey. Not in regards to him keeping his job, he's not at that stage right now. But winning one, drawing one and then losing one isn't good enough considering the squad he has at his disposal. Without any shadow of a doubt we have one of the best back 5's in League Two, though they weren't nowhere near their best last time out against Cambridge. So that's always a good base to start with. He needs to find a solution and fast to our lack of goals, not just up top but as a team. We've more than matched anyone we have played football wise, and that includes Cambridge. But the difference between them and us was being clinical. We don't have to be a side that creates numerous chances a game to win a football match, our defence will keep plenty of clean sheets, but we certainly need to start doing better with what we do create.

Can't wait to see us with Amoo and Oyeleke back in the side soon. I believe those two turn us from a decent team into a very good one. I think we'll get a point today against Oldham in a tight, scrappy game.

That midfield, while competent, is nowhere near the best in L1.

Our midfield of Morley, Ryan, Lund and Rathbone is better, and we are currently 17th in L1. I suspect the likes of Ipswich, Sunderland, Hull or Peterborough might have a claim - we don't and neither do you.

I have been to watch Bolton occasionally over the years (but not since the move to Horwich). Warwick Rimmer was captain the first time I went...

I think you put a lot of good views across and are not biased, but in all due respect that four of yours would be chasing shadows all day......

I'm glad to see Evatt struggling with Bolton and it will be even funnier when he gets sacked.

He really should have stuck with Barrow for one more season at least since he was building something there, instead of doing that usual thing young Guardiola wannabe managers do of jumping ship too soon.

Just because he wears a suit he bought from Matalan, it doesn't make him a genius.

His stock was high, it was now or maybe never to make the move to a bigger club on more money. I think nearly every manager would have done the same to be honest.

We already have 5 members of our starting 11 out injured. We will be missing another 5 due to two players having Covid-19 and 3 having to self isolate as they've been in close contact.

Our goalkeeping coach is having to manage today as all of other members of staff are self isolating.

Exeter will be playing our reserve team today, this could legitimately hit double figures today

Theres a reason they're in the 4th division. Because they are not good enough for the 3rd division. And looking at their recent results it could be considered they're not good enough for the 4th division.I honestly think Bolton will come good but not good enough to obtain promotion this season.

Carlisle won't go to the wall, all their players are amateurs who pay subs for the privilege of playing in league 2.

They train on Tuesdays and Thursday nights after they've all finished their shift at Carlisle Sawmills.

We do not have a starter in a single one of our positions today and we only have 5 subs. The reserve team we put out two weeks ago for a reserve game was better than this.

11-0 to Exeter

Rawson who came highly rated from FGR has not been very good, pretty poor actually.........
I'm sorry to read that. Just before last season was cut short, Rawson had been made Captain on a few occasions and won a few MoM awards.
Perhaps FGR playing style more suited him than does Mansfield.
But I'm pretty sure by end of season Raws will become a Mansfield fans hero, even with his regular errors.

I can't even begin to fathom who is playing were in our team.

We have one fit CB, who plays next to him is a mystery.

If Exeter don't win by at least 4 goals there manager needs sacking

Yes the is a Reason our club was mismanaged. We started last season on -12points with kids
Only one of that midfield 4 played in lge 1 last season......Darcy and he excelled in many games
Two are from championship teams on loan with bright futures....And Sarcevic who was player of the year last year with Plymouth.

Grimsby 1 - 1 Carlise. Carlisle score in the dying minutes thanks to their 58 man squad.

Can you tell me where Grimsby,Exeter ,Oldham and Carlisle wages are coming from as the is no income this month?

Where's this idea come from that we have a massive squad and high wage bill?

Kinda nervous about today's game with Grimsby. They're just one of those teams that always have a bit of swagger about them, could just be the fans of this MASSIVE club always being very bullish, or their high profile manager but I don't think we have too good of a record against them either. We could be top of the league and them bottom and I'd still expect to get beat.

Even though we've been doing well of late (win here and we'll have made our best start to a season this century) it still feels like a game we have to win, the disappointment of drawing with Oldham is still a bit raw because these are missed opportunities to cross the line between a decent start to a season and a decent season and I guess I still expect us to fall away unless we can pick up points right now.

Nice try.
We have 5 academy players starting and 9 in the squad. Wont be easy but we can hopefully shade it.

that’s putting it mildly. Our record against them is woeful, probably one of the worst records we have against any team.

We don't have a single player from our strongest 11 playing. We lost 5-0 two weeks ago and 4-1 the week before. We have our goalkeeping coach managing this game. This team is already terrible, all of these issues just make us even worse.

If you don't win my numerous goals it's embarrassing.
