I think Rochdale may have dodged a bullet in not appointing (as was rumoured) Evatt to replace Hill 18 months ago...

If Bolton picked a team where players played in positions they were comfortable and competent in playing in, it might be a start. A 4-4-2 of Gilks: Jones/Brockbank/Delaney/Gordon : Kioso/White/Darcy/Sarcevic : Doyle/Defonouso is not world beating, but ought to get some points in. Crellin/Hickman/Taft/Miller/Tutte/Crawford and one of Faal/Amaoteng on the bench.

He was never ever going to Rochdale though - that rumour only ever came about as someone saw him filling up with petrol in Rochdale when we trained at Hopwood Hall....

Yes the is a Reason our club was mismanaged. We started last season on -12points with kids
Only one of that midfield 4 played in lge 1 last season......Darcy and he excelled in many games
Two are from championship teams on loan with bright futures....And Sarcevic who was player of the year last year with Plymouth.

Kioso and White have played well in the National League. They may or may not be able to make the step up. No reason why they shouldn't - Alex Newby and Jake Beesley haven't disgraced themselves in L1 this year.

Sarcevic to me is a bit of a curate's egg - very good in parts, but apart from maybe last season hasn't done it consistently - or if he has, I've not noticed.

The four Dale players I've mentioned have made 600 league starts between them. Lund and Ryan have played for N Ireland and Ireland U21 respectively, and might have played higher but for injuries, Rathbone was signed from Manchester United's youth/U21s and we recently turned down £200k plus from Hull for him, Morley is a youth product, now 20, and potentially a Championship or higher player (possibly as a ball-playing centre back, as he seems to be filling out). Nothing against the Four Bolton players I mentioned, but they'd struggle to displace any of the four Dale lads at the moment.

Si in effect you have 3 journey men and Morley
White and Kioso will play football in the championship or higher....They are not our players Blackburn,Luton respecfully
Politic who is out for the season and Regan Riley will step in for them next season

Good effort from what is essentially our reserve team, don't deserve to be 2-0 now but that's what happens when you're down.

Keep it to 3-0 max and think we will all be happy.

Not a convincing performance. Should have been one down early on, then a defensive mistake and a goalkeeping howler give the scoreline a false look.
Lost our best player in Page though so this is a heavy price.
We never win easily, expect the next goal for Scunthorpe

Phew. Not the best from us and I feared when Ward was injured. However from that point on we controlled the midfield and nothing came into our box.
I've seen a lot worse sides than Scunthorpe this season, just hinged on a few mistakes in the box.
