Lavery is absolutely total gash for sure, but I always thought he had a tiny bit of value to bring on as a last resort, but as for Miller omfg where do we start?? He's one of the worst strikers I've ever seen at our club and seriously that takes some doing with what we've witnessed in recent history. Seriously no sour grapes or anything of the sort he's truly awful

During his time with us, I thought Miller looked like a fan who had won a raffle to play for us. Headless Bantam springs to mind the way he ran around so fast but was never anywhere near the ball

given Crawley's form that could be the point that keeps you up......
I didn't go yesterday (I nearly went to the Stevenage game as that's where I was) so no comment on the display but our problems are really down to a slow, weak midfield. Yesterday Roles started the guy who couldn't get into Woking's side with Powell. Powell and Roles are cut from the same cloth. Slow across the ground and easily pushed off the ball. Ball turnover in midfield no tracking back and with our full backs ridiculously high lots of space for the opposition to create chance after chance.

Wagmi sacked Young because he was being outshone. Winning games mind. Lindsey is losing and being outshone but who can we replace him with? His after match interview he was clearly angry about the lack of effort but wagmi ripped the soul out of the team by getting rid of the core group and the rest don't seem to care. The way we are playing any points from now are a miracle!

Am I behind on the rules or something because he seemed to just give the ball back to the defending side on several occasions when freekicks should have been given? Someone said shades of offside for our first, will have to see that again as that was the only decent goal in my opinion. Both of yours and our second are down to crap defending.
Yeah, he just gave the ball back on 4 occasions I think it was to the defending sides rather than the side who had possession. Odd officiating.

I think McAtee was offside for the penalty, looking at replays it was a tight call.

Yeah someone else has said that on McAtee for the pen too. There was a chance for us after our pen when Holohan got absolutely wiped out too which could have been another pen. Only reason I could see it not being given was if the ref thought he wasn't getting on the end of the cross?

I don’t think McAtee was offside for that penalty, it’s tight but VAR would have given that. The ref started off ok but gradually lost control. Was impressed by Orient first half but after our two quick goals, thought they reverted to shithouse tactics. Overall thought we deserved the win but can’t complain at a draw. Think the changing point was pushing Glennon forward at half time which completely took Archibald out the game in an attacking sense. Entertaining game at home for once!

Everyone else making even easier for Orient !
Well according to the Grinsby fans we're just lucky and everything only comes from defensive errors so I have no idea how we're top of the league on 71 points, must be some kind of point scoring error by the efl ..

How are we (Carlisle) painfully shit?
Can you explain that to me please?

You lost at home to Harrogate. Also, every team in Scotland except for the Old Firm is shit.

we are shit because “every team in Scotland except for old firm is shit”

That’s like me saying Orient are shit because every team in the bahamas is shit, or because every team in Scotland is shit. It doesn’t make sense.

I’m not sticking up for carver here by the way, the kid does my fucking head in, and I’m not saying we aren’t shit. But that reasoning is just utter fucktarded.

Wellens has us streetwise, if the ref is being a bit of a wally we know what to do to try and swing them in our favour. If the game isn't going our way, we will try and wind up our opponents and we've been well know to have team meetings on the pitch with a player going down "injured" when we have a difficult start.

Occasionally it goes wrong, there will always be that risk.

Doesn't happen every week, but Wellens approach is if everyone else does it, then we might as well.

There was a spell second half where they looked semi competent but yeah they were pretty abysmal. Had a sly laugh at our fans booing when we were passing the ball across our back line. Both times it happened a minute later we scored, so go figure. Jody Morris has called them 'immature' which is ironic as its bound to have been the older generation that still want football to be played on heavy pitches and defenders to do nothing else apart from kick and head the ball as far away from our box as possible.
I’m of the older generation as you put it and want us to play a passing game, however, Brennan and Clayton were playing between themselves and missing the opportunity to move it forward to Austin, Wakeling etc who were making some dangerous runs. Perhaps you couldn’t see those runs on IFOLLOW? I hasten to add I didn’t boo and haven’t for probably 40 years. I did get exasperated though with the slow play in the opening minutes

So one poor defeat defines our whole season does it?

You really don't know what the hell you're talking about.

You must have missed the comments from Town fans praising Orient and Wellens both in the build up to the match at the weekend and after you deservedly beat us on the opening day. That doesn't change the fact that both of your goals on Saturday were due to defensive errors on our part though. We also comfortably outplayed you in the second half and forced you to shut up shop and hang on for a point, failing to convert a penality in the process. So yeah, I'd say you were somewhat fortuitous to come away from Blundell Park with a point on Saturday. Does that mean you're lucky to be top of the league? Absolutely not.

Happy to provide the ego massaging you came for though mate, here are a few quotes from me (a Grimsby fan) from earlier on in the season that I still stand by...

Orient are a cut above everyone else from what I've seen.

Orient are the best team by a mile

I felt Orient were lucky to beat us up here thanks largely to the referee being awful, but they're way ahead of anyone else in the league and are just about promoted. The table never lies..

Definitely. When we won League Two under Mad Dog a few years back, we were no great shakes but we were the most consistent and rode out our inevitable rocky patch, when we lost a couple of home games back to back and the nerves started to show.

Orient are unspectacular but get the job done consistently and I think they are now over their own bad patch. Plain sailing now.

The fact that Kelman gets a regular game for them suggests they need substantial reinforcements for League One, though.

Leyton Orient deserve the title, they seem very solid. Yes they're boring and their style of play is poor to watch but we'd all take that if it meant we had their lead at the top. They will need investment in the summer to survive in League One but I think Tottenham give them a lot of money for letting their women's team play at Orient.

We don't own our stadium, it's owned by Barry Hearn's pension trust, so I doubt we would see any of the money from Spurs' Ladies. Only benefit I could see us getting from it, is them investing in the pitch this coming off season and those new digital advertising boards. Someone more in the know could confirm though as I'm just speculating.

Boring and poor to watch? Laughable.

We've scored some absolutely incredible goals this season and, for a League 2 club, we try to play it on the deck and pass around instead of just lumping it forward like several teams in this league.

We're not amazing, but to say we're poor to watch is just incorrect.

The irony of a Stockport fan posting that, after they've just played 90 minutes of lumping up to nobody and some of the dullest football known to man.

Orient were probably the best team here this season, even though it seemed Smyth was basically doing everything himself from an attacking sense.

Awful wasn't it Saturday. We obviously do play better than that most weeks but I don't see what my post had to do with us? I don't think we play champagne football at the best of times.

My general point was that with Orient's style- its shows it isn't a necessity to be a brilliant footballing side to lead the pack in this division.

Clinical
Good with set pieces
Don't get bullied

That's all you need really to be a good outfit in this league.

Stop with the pissy comments. Orient are a very good side at this level. We’re never going to have a Barcelona playing in league two.

They’re about as promoted as an un-promoted team can possibly be, which says an awful lot more about the rest of us than it does about them. And they’re not hoof it and run or particularly shithouses either.

Stevenage on the other hand…

I thought Orient were really good at Brisbane Road against us, still the best footballing side I've seen this season.
