No Newport v Town thread, so I'll start a thread for all the others that don't have them.

Newport did the double over us last season and always give us a tricky game, so not sure how this one will pan out. Just been announced on the radio that McKeown is in his grey kit. Either Podge or Matt will score today so we'll need at least 2 if we are to win.

Newport well on top here by the sounds of it. We haven't really got going. This is a recurring problem for us at Rodney Parade, for some reason.

Col U twitter saying they're happy to get to half time 0-0 and that we've been impressive.

Kick it in the fucking net.

Seems to be a bit of a problem for you this season from what I've seen? Playing well but not taking teams to the sword?

We should have 7 points and be leading here, yeah it's a big problem. It's a range of people who are missing the chances too (other than Van Veen) so it's a puzzler.

We were absolutely dire first half, just like we always are when we go to Newport. Just cannot string two passes together.

All looking very good at Huish Park, 2-0 up and the DCBs down to 10 men.

Another dogshit trip to Newport for us. Would've been okay to just brush it off but another red card is very annoying.

We were so unbelievably poor. Cheltenham were terrible and the fact we lost shoes how bad we are.

Deserved win for Cheltenham. Set up for a draw and took all three points courtesy of the classic away performance - ie let the home side huff and puff and hit them on the break. Their midfielders were superb as they shielded their back line throughout the whole 90 mins.

As for us, I don't know what has happened to Jevani Brown but he was utter turd today. One thing's for sure and that is he won't be leaving us on the back of performances like todays. Same goes for Jabo as I expect much more from him seeing he's a senior player. Shite. As was Maris.

On the positive side, Louis John was excellent, and Carroll is slowly is becoming one of my fav U's players, he's improved beyond recognition this season imo. Deagan also had another good match, though I'm sure some of the U's fans are already inquiring as to what exactly he brings to the side. Needless to say, such fans are best ignored.

You did this midweek too? Is everything okay, hun? Don't think anyone thinks you are overrated?

These kinds of posts are why everyone picks on you lot now, by the way.
I'm absolutely fine mate, couldn't be better. Loony pontoonlew says we're shit and overrated cos we drew one game. I suppose it's just 'banter' though...

If we get picked on expect us to gloat when we do well.

I know how you're feeling TA, but it's unwise to read too much into the result or performance of any Crawley match. By far the most unpredictable L2 side IMO.

Tbf to him, you weren't great against us. And Northampton and needed another Akinde (pen) to get the ball rolling vs Bury. How did you play today? Was it the usual Cowley tactics? Or was it the free flowing evocative combination of 70s Brazil meets early 90s Ajax total football that we were all so grateful to witness vs Swindon?

Disappointingly we were well off the pace today, but credit to Northampton too who looked decent. They were quicker to the ball, stronger, brushed us off with ease and threatening going forward. Should really have been two up by half-time, deserved the lead when it came and we never then created too much of note after the opening goal.

It was always going to happen after the other night!

Not putting down Crawley they probably deserved to win, but our away form in the last two years is embarrassing and the constant amount of late goals is horrendous. We're in trouble if we can't cut out our horrible away form.

We all admitted we were shite against you lot, but you still weren't good enough to beat us. We've slightly altered our playing style, we're still more than capable of mixing it up, but to suggest we're claiming to be some lower league Barcelona is just bollocks. We dominated against Notts today but they're obviously in a spot of bother at the minute, so can't read too much into that.

We get constantly bashed on here yet whenever we give anything back we're told we deserve everything we get. It's just a bit tiresome. We never got any of this when we were shit, in fact we were everyone's favourite fanbase.

I'm still away but a win is a win. Even better had three different players on the scoresheet today.

Still concerned with the amount of goals we are letting in. 7 in 3 home games is too many.
