Agree criticism is rightly laid at the club's door but a little harsh on both accounts.

Take McGoldrick and Crowley out and add in two clear upgrades in defence and we are probably where we are now as a club but let's fun and less entertaining. Never going to get all 4 upgrades and all right.

Al hamadi tore your defence apart all game yesterday. They can't cope with someone running at them with pace.

Al Hamadi was excellent, one of the best individual displays I’ve seen against us all season. It’s also undoubtedly true that both of his goals were just him being put through one-on-one with the goalkeeper by a Notts player.

I definitely think it’s becoming clear that we’ve been a bit too loyal to some of the players, particularly in defence, who got us promoted. We’re always going to give up chances because of how we play, but the number coming from basic unforced errors is just completely unsustainable. It’s also pretty obvious now that we needed a bigger squad, but I guess we couldn’t really legislate for losing Palmer, Scott, Bajrami and Chicksen to long-term injuries. We’re doing okay and I expect we’ll do a fair bit to sort those things out in Jan.

Also think we’ve not had much of the rub of the green in some big games. Mansfield obviously did us over completely, but I think we had a lot of unfortunate stuff go against us in the Wrexham, Crewe and Wimbledon games that will hopefully even itself out at some point.

I love Korean films. Definitely second The Wailing and I saw The Devil, brilliant films. Train to Busan too.

Edit: Also Kingdom and All of Us are Dead on Netflix. Both zombie tv shoshowsr
Really enjoyed Last Train To Bushan.

The sequel is OK but not a patch on the first.

Agree with the luck comment.

The handball yesterday is one of the more clear ones I've seen that's not been given

Looking at the bottom end of the League One table you certainly need a Mullin or a Langstaff. I know it's at a higher level Carver but less than a goal a game?! Yikes. Sounds dull

More than Carlisle most likely.

Haha, well I checked and our new owners networth is $440 million and yours is only $50 million.

So that makes us considerably richer, than you.

That non-penalty award in the Walsall game was pretty mad. Worst decision I've seen all season in any match.
At the time I thought maybe ref thinks it was ball to hand as it's clearly stuck out there, but he's a couple of yards away and it looks worse on the replay. Some suggestion one of our other lads was in the ref's line of sight because it is stonewall.
he came over as quite the po-faced PE teacher. Didn't even crack a smile when he poleaxed himself running into the back of a Walsall lad and having to be pulled to his feet. Did all right apart from the howler though, kept his cards in his pocket where some wouldn't.

How much is that Mullin fella worth for Wrexham?

You couldn't afford him.

You've only accounted for Rob MacElhennys personal wealth, now look up Ryan Reynolds. Although the material wealth of the owners isn't really where our money comes from. Mullin is part of the 'brand', particularly in the US and worth a lot more to us than just his value on the pitch. It's not usual for a L2 striker to write a book and be on BBC Breakfast to promote it.

Your problem is nobody would want to move to Carlisle unless desperate

So what, Jimmy Glass wrote a book and he played for us in L2 and scored the most important goal ever in the history of football.

Notts County are a team that interest me more than most others in L2 because of their manager and how they play. Williams is clearly a smart guy who knows what he's doing. But the flaws in his squad building are evident. Having a small squad is always dangerous at this level. Lose 1-2 key players and suddenly the depth behind them is non-existent. I'm shocked by how thin they are all over the pitch. Ok I know they are without Palmer and Scott, who are both big losses. But still, every week they have no attacking depth to give the likes of McGoldrick or Langstaff a break should they need it. In midfield, behind Bostock and Palmer it's a soon to be retired O'Brien. Need more than that.

Defensively I get holding onto players who helped get you promoted, sometimes you need the cold hard reality of going up a level to show just how far off the raised standard some are. But they didn't sign enough proven EFL experience. Mansfield signed Flint. Wrexham signed Boyle. Stockport have Horsfall. Heck, even we have Demetriou. They need more quality back there.

I also find his reluctance to have any sort of youth in the team baffling. Has he ever explained why he has so few under 25s in the squad aside?

I also think he badly fumbled the goalkeeper situation in the summer. Port Vale fans could have told you Aidan Stone was a very average keeper. Why he was trusted to be the number 1 I don't know. As for Slocombe, his best days are clearly behind him.

The flaws in how they play are evident. No defensive specialist in midfield and 2 attack minded wing backs who often leave the back 3 exposed to fast, physical teams. Yet Williams never seems to adjust the tactics to give the defence more cover.

I said in the summer that I thought Wrexham will finish above Notts because they play a style more suited to L2 and I think that is playing out. Until they find a better blend between attack and defence, they'll keep conceding too many goals.

I know that is a lot of criticism for a side currently 6th and who have the 2nd most goals scored in the league. But there is definitely a lot to think about for Williams and his staff.
Williams doesn't build his own squad. We have a recruitment team and he has minimal input, by his own admission.
We are short of younger players, the youth set up hasn't really had a great pool of talent and there's not really anyone pushing for a first team place.
I agree with you, we absolutely need a keeper. If Stone isn't good enough to keep Slocombe out then he's not good enough full stop and neither is Slocombe.
Williams has got a lot right since he's been with us but he is human and I think has made a few mistakes recently. I see no reason why Macari isn't starting and to be level away from home from being two down, I think seeing the game out securely for a point isn't being negative, more pragmatic and realistic.
I said before a ball was kicked we'd concede too many to go up and I still hold to that. Transfer window is going to be pivotal in how the season pans out for us and is like at least one centre half, a midfielder and a six foot plus striker as an option and obvious to all who watch us, a keeper.

I bet loads of people read it too. I'm not convinced these owners of yours are as rich as you think they are, but time will tell.

Mullin wouldn't be worth what he would cost a club like Carlisle, I doubt he'd want to relocate to Cumbria either, part of the reason he came to us (as well as the huge wages) was a chance to be close to his young son, who is autistic and non verbal.

Plenty of better options out there.

I really enjoyed it, the new ground is excellent and a huge step forward from Kingsmeadow when we were last down at your place. Always a shame to lose, but really enjoyed the day, probably the most sound stewards I’ve ever seen in an away end and had some great chats with AFCW fans in the pub before and the train back. Good, friendly atmosphere and a good game of football. A complete contrast to our last away game, the way football should be.
Same here, very friendly and all round good day .
I've now been away five times this season and seen us concede 16, score 4 and pick up 1pt. We're hurling points away through catastrophic individual errors and it has to stop, it's how relegation teams play

Yet we create and score like a promotion side does.

Let me know in advance when you next plan to go to your next away game. Cheers

Ouch! That's not going to influence my get at all.

My personal away record isn't much better but no game has been even close to dull.

Is Will Randall destined to never play for you Notts fans? What’s he done?

He started last week on the left and swapped over to the right as he got no change from the right back.
He's been a disappointment to be honest. He's had injuries and been in a car crash apparantly but I keep waiting to see something in him click but it's not happening. He hasn't got loads of pace, hasn't shown himself to be tricky or able to beat a man comfortably and not really seen him create anything. Even in pre-season against some pretty lowly teams he didn't stand out.
I'm sure if he gets a run he'd improve and find a way to fit but equally if we loaned him out in the window and got someone else in nobody would be upset.

Didn’t see anything of the game as was on a works du. However the stats looked slightly skewed in swindon’s favour and over a course of a season you’re going to lose games like that (like ones we’ve got something from we shouldn’t have)
Had a funny feeling about the game and lumped £15 on swindon to win and sadly won the best part of £50 back.

It was an end to end game, like I said a point was probably a fair result but they had a late chance and took it, whereas we missed ours. A enjoyable game to watch to be honest with both sides to thank for that.

Although I still disagree with the decision to put Flint upfront late on, I do admire the fact no matter who we play home or away we will always go for the win in situations like that, we want automatic promotion so let’s just go for it. Just a shame we ended with fuck all Saturday

Oh they're proper rich mate and I've heard that it came down to a coin toss between us and Hartlepool as to who they would buy and we won!

So lucky us.
