“Oh hey, Bradford City we’re the guys who pick who referee’s where at the weekend, we were just wondering who the last person alive on the entire planet is, who you wouldn’t want in charge of your game on Saturday in what feels an already must win game in the season, because I think we’ve boo-boo’d”
“You’ve given us Darren Drysdale haven’t you”
To be fair I can't remember the last time we won a game in which Drysdale reffed us. The home game vs Accrington a few years ago he was so so bad.

We’re up to about ten consecutive games with him so lump on the draw.

Well it’s a fluke, let’s not beat around the bush, but a quality one at that

As i said before many will come unstuck at grimsby, that’s the best grimsby performance i’ve seen in a long while (i discount the 1-0 win you had at ours under goughlan as he well isn’t a fit for purpose manager)

I never had any doubts we’d score and wasn’t surprised when we did, just annoying to defend as well as we did to be undone by a fluke, but that’s football, well score one at some stage this season.
The definition of fluke (in verb form at least) is "achieve (something) by luck rather than skill". So I'd argue the point that your goal was more of a fluking than ours.

That's the best Mansfield performance I've see lately too. It's been even over the last ten or so league matches. Think we've both won a couple and the rest draws.

We can take encouragement knowing that for all your dominance on Saturday though you were only a defensive mix up away from a classic Hurstying. I don't think we've seen a side control a game as much as that for a while at BP, certainly not last season or the season before. Considering that you had so many injuries, I'd say you're looking very good. You've obviously spent a bit but credit has to go to Clough, reaping the benefits of a good budget and time. Mansfield's title to lose in my opinion.

My confidence is rock bottom, especially with that slaphead reffing us. Can't see anything but a loss.

Looking forward to - ticking off a new ground away at Harrogate, should be a decent day.

Not looking forward to - Derek putting 10 men behind the ball against Harrogate.

Don't let the football spoil your day out.

Us and Walsall probably eyeing each other up as teams we each need to be beating if we're to go from midtable sides to playoff challenging ones. The only really surprising outcome would be for a battering to happen either way.

Gnahoua was fairly ineffectual against Mansfield so I think we might see a return for Vernam. Khan and Wilson were expected to be back in contention for this one which will give us some much needed options off the bench. We'll be finding out at 2pm on Saturday on that though I'd imagine as Hursty will undoubtedly be keeping his cards close to his chest. Holohan has done well since coming in (talking league games here) for Hunt but we saw significant drop in possession on Saturday. I'd be tempted to try dropping Clifton and going with Conteh, Holohan and Hunt as a three. I like Holohan and Conteh as a combo and would be nice to get on the ball and try to take control a bit more than we did against Mansfield, I'm not sure if Clifton and Holohan are both necessarily needed in the same lineup unless we really need to press.

We aren't capable of turning anybody over. More chance of you walking away with a win but thinking we were the better side.

We’ve been the better side and should’ve won the 3 games we’ve drawn, we’ve got the monopoly on that one haha

Going for a drab 0-0! The descriptions you guys have said sound exactly like us so far, injuries included (though not as bad!)

I've heard of the play crap and win is a very good sign. This sounds the opposite play well and don't win.

Mansfield Town FC to finish 3rd this season.

I thought Mansfield finishing no higher than 4th and losing in the playoffs was a League 2 law

Unsurprisingly saturday at home to stockport is now all ticket, unsurprisingly the club dithered and waited too long to make the decision, given both stockport and bradford are likely to be sold out as well as the home ends.

Appears the clamour to sort out this 4th stand is getting louder, need to find ways of upping capacity both for home and away fans.

Can’t wait for the Stockport excuses of not selling out at our small tin pot ground because of the lack of trains on Saturday . Don’t they know supporters coaches are running from Stockport. I am sure if AdamStag can make it to the ground then the Hatter’s massive should be able to.

The away part will only be an issue if we manage to go up one day.

I know the club have an idea what they want to do with the Bish, but I have no idea what it is. A stand that can be segregated in half and allocated for either home or away would be ideal.

Making your own arrangements and spending lunchtime having a beer & food in Nottingham, vs being cramped up next to some sweaty fucker with a stretched out replica shirt that hasn't fitted him since 1998 & eats his home made egg butties.

Nah, you're all right.

It's weird how the current boom in attendances is making some people regard not-selling-out as tinpot. Some Yorkshire pillock was having a go at us for only taking a thousand to Walsall, which is about double what we ever took ten or fifteen years ago. Without digging out my old programmes to check, in fairly sure it's the same with Mansfield, so 'only' a thousand at Field Mill would be great I reckon, taking into account there's many of us for whom train availability is a crucial factor.

I've done my penance going to every arse-end corner of the country on coaches when I was younger, nowadays I'm picking and choosing my away days on how much I'd enjoy the whole day.

And that means no egg butties.

Why would you stay in stockport to be cramped up to some sweaty fucker wearing a replica kit eating his egg cobs when there’s a game on?

I’ve pointed out before that the trains are on strike which would be a significant number on numbers travelling over, given my particular expert knowledge of that trip, it’s a ball ache by car, though you do get to pass through some lovely non league towns on the way such as bakewell, chesterfield and glapwell.

a thousand would be a decent number considering.

That's your caravan? The police control box under the executive boxes in the family stand of our all seater stadium. Ermmmm ok. Talk about a stretch fella.

In all my years going to Meadow Lane I've never once heard any away fans sing that. It's been there since the mid 90s

Maybe Bradford can start a new trend when they visit in November. I'm sure it will catch on at L2 level :ffs:

Not sure what to expect in Hughes v Long the rematch. Old Sparky could get his jotters if the Alex win, but the Alex have this horrible habit that if a team needs to end a winless streak/striker in need of a goal/manager needs a result we gift it to them. Hopefully we are made of better stuff these days, and if Thomas returns this may beef the middle up. I would take another draw.

Let’s be frank, it resembles a caravan more than a “Police control box under the executive boxes in the main stand of your all seater stadia”.
