Well there was only 10k thier yesterday so im right about the figures

So you did predict a relegation battle, thought so. Stick to ya guns chap.

Only??? That's more than the One Call Stadium can accommodate and can only dream of over 10,000

What if the away followings were significantly different? Both impressive followings but more Grimsby brought 2000 more. If anyone should know about away followings its a Mansfield fan.

Must have been fans of others clubs who suggested that.

Two weeks ago you also said ""Nearly 13 k seriously impressive think it will decrease when your in a relegation battle"

Sounds like you were/are predicting a relegation battle for the stylish magpies.

I think it's the case of a fan of a club who have underperformed and failed to get promoted out of this league for a decade despite being well backed by their chairman, getting rattled at the prospect that a club coming up from the National League may leapfrog them.

Obviously doesn't apply to either Notts or ourselves as the NL was the 'Weakest ever' last season (in comparison to all the years when half the teams were part time). So we are both going to struggle this year.

Just didn't really turn up. Colchester were decent, we were very poor. Missed the energy of Jefferies in the middle, we were way too lethargic. Towards the end their two forwards beat us up a bit - not great players but physically challenging and we didn't really cope. 3rd goal was about 10 yards offside though.

Ten yards offside?

That’s from when the ball was arriving to him, not from where it came from and where our defence were then. I don’t think it would have made any difference though, you were the better side on the day.

Don’t want to embroil myself in a Gillingham/Colchester offside beef here, but… that’s clearly when the ball was played, because you can, err, see the ball being played.

Plot twist - decided to seek out a video of this game and your man from Colchester has misled everyone by screenshotting a stride before the ball is played. It’s a yard offside, hope that clears it up for you all.

You missed out that you aren’t now playing the:
Dog and Duck,
Dog and Partridge,
Cat and Fiddle,
or any other pub name that Adam Stag likes to mention a couple of times a week.

Sounds like we have been quickly upgraded from a relegation battle to maybe midtable also rans by Spanish.

I actually agree with the drunken one and am confident Mansfailed will finally get the job done and get promoted this season. It's overdue with the setup they have of Radford+Clough+Much improved home support. Even a few injuries won't stop them this season. Instead of the usual Choke job it's the Year of the Stag. I'm so confident I've bet on it.

As for Notts just happy to be be here. Here to entertain, and teach a fair few sides how to play stylish football.

Good tactic , concentrate on the early rounds of the cup :brill:

Prefer consistency so it’s good to be unbeaten in league and cup.

(well until we get battered at sheff weds in midweek  )

For what it’s worth i find it hard to believe someone would have ever thought wrexham or county would’ve been battling relegation, and clearly a windup if so.

I maintain what i said about the conference last season, it’s even worse this - but it hardly means league 2 is some magical dynamo of a league either. I think both sides should have realistic expectations of the top half and even playoffs.

What are you basing that strong consistent opinion on Adam? How many games did you watch last season in the National League?

If it's a wind up, it's a poor laughable one. As for your amigo's comments you know as well as I do that Spanish Stag hates all things Notts County FC (more than your legendary bitter rivals apparently?), and it's obvious wise.

If you don't know or can't guess, the clue is his age.

Quite a few, i’d say a good 20 or so - despite the lack of quality i’d still prefer to watch that (like how the appeal of gibraltar vs san marino in the nations league is more attractive watch for me than a holland vs france)

I also went to altrincham 6/7 times last season on tuesday nights given it’s just down the road also. I’d say the main differences is pace and quality of finishing. What’s your thoughts?

Anyway i’m sure we’d all agree it’s good we’re all not there now!

20 wow! That's more than I did.

When Mansfield were in Non-League I didn't watch any of there games. I don't think I watched any game bar one playoff semi final involving Newport against I think Grimsby. So I can't judge the difference accurately. I would imagine the quality has increased as each decade passes as the becomes more professional and less part time clubs at 5th tier. Logical but just a guess.

Speed of the games and quality of finishing are two are the traditional measures that show noticeable differences as you go up though the football pyramid.

Putting those barometers to one side for me it will be interesting to see how much possession we have and control of the game when we play an MK Dons, Swindon, Mansfield, Gillingham etc. Should expect a noticeable drop.

So far I'd agree that it's faster paced in this division. On what I've seen so far I'd say the NL teams try to play more football. The L2 teams have all wanted to play percentages into the box and have been far less worried about ball retention . The defences are also better, far grittier and are able to speak up pressure for longer.

Pathetic away performance as per usual, even worse than the Mansfield game. Harrogate were awful yet it could have been 4-0 at half time.

Sonething has to change, we are abysmal away and it's just laughable at this point. Thankfully we're quite good at home.

The referee didn't help either and has previous with us, Totally inept and not up to EFL standard.
