Vintage Notts that - a seal clubbing for 70 minutes, should have been 10-0 up. Williams makes 5 subs, 1 gets injured and we play with 10 men for 20 minutes and barely hang on.

It’s there though, we’re so dangerous going forward. Jodi Jones has somehow shifted into another gear this season.

Still need a centre-back.
Jodi Jones is a class act. Tranmere just couldn't get near him and it's hard to pin down why because he's not particularly quick, big or bustling strong. He just drops a shoulder and shields the ball and it's a joy to watch.

It's been a great start for Notts, opening day notwithstanding.

It's noticeable that all the teams you've played are in the bottom half of the table (apart from Morecombe). At this stage that could just be because you've beaten them - but have you had a favourable start or is the gap not that big after all? (like we all said) Tbh we should have more points than we've got, but struggling to take our chances without Mullin - badly need some quality added without him and our other injured players.
We've had three away games in the first four so on that basis not the easiest start. We've Accrington and MK Dons next two so that should start to give us an idea.

Made it much harder than it needed to be going down to 10 cos of injury and clinging on for a completely ridiculous amount of stoppage time.

Overall feels like we’ve figured out this level, though. By which I mean everyone just plays against us like they did in the National League, scared to try and make a game of it. That should’ve been a proper clubbing, but we’ll take the win.
Their gaffer has said as much in his post match. He sounded like he was turning up with Wealdstone or someone.

We’ve got two big tests next in Accy and MK Dons so imagine we’ll know more about how equipped we are to compete towards the top after those

I said last season Mansfield were the best team we played and I've got a feeling I'll be saying similar They play some great football, two seasons on the spin they're really the only team I can think of that just look a bit better than us. The goals were inevitable second half. It was quite similar to the game last season there.

Louie Barry looks a great talent for us. Keilor Dunn for Mansfield too, excellent footballer.

Deserved win for Mansfield in my opinion.

Your problem is that you were probably too open.

you pressed so well the first 60 minutes but stockport tired and brining swan on broke stockport, that last 30 minutes could’ve been a complete bloodbath if we could learn to convert.

For what it’s worth i get the feeling there’s going to be a fair number of sides leaving field mill having experienced a battering.

Quite a bit of a reaction from Stockport fans regarding the manager post match today, I think they will get it together and I expect them to be competing again.

Again, given before today we’ve not played anyone decent stockport were well and beyond anything i’ve seen this season, they’ve probably lose as cloughs suckered them in tactics wise.

appreciate from a stockport fan perspective that last half hour would’ve been tough to watch, we rinsed them, had that been 4 or 5 there couldn’t be any argument.

Just wondering, does anyone know if Mansfield have played anyone decent this season before today?

you can only play what’s infront of you.

Its been like when england play the likes of estonia and the like and then all of a sudden play someone who you’ve heard of :P1:

I said wed go unbeaten in august as until we played stockport as before then we were against sides who have no hope of promotion or playoffs and it proved correct.

Forgot to give Bowery some dues too, maybe he was partly to blame for the first but what a job he did at times at centre back, especially considering how good Louie Barry is aswell. The bloke plays everywhere but his actual position and gives his all every time.

I HAVE to give bowery dues he was amazing, and that ball from akins to swan down the right of the pitch, good lord i wanted to marry him.

Massive performance from the lads today.

Probably a fair result in the end, both sides seem to lack a bit of composure at both ends of the pitch today, with chances offered up and then squandered. The exception was Deeney who just seemed to have time on the ball whenever he got it.
I think we just shaded it on chances, but a winner either way would have been a little harsh. The injuries to Reeves and Little are concerning, suddenly our squad doesn't look so deep, especially after we let Bendle join yourselves...
We are still unbeaten, until Wednesday at least when Chelsea will no doubt put an end to our fun...

Can't argue with a draw really but if Al Hamadi's finishing hadn't been so terrible this year we'd have put it to bed I think. Sort of hoping a middle eastern club comes in with stupid money who haven't actually watched him this year.

At first I thought, I really had to hand it to you there comparing Mansfield to a top international side, that's really quite something even by your standards but then I realised the underachievement and consistent failure at the final few hurdles is pretty uncanny.

Estonia is harsh on us though! We've at least got to be having Switzerland status. Only ever getting anywhere via the playoffs and a load of boring 0-0s, 1-1s, 1-0s and 2-1s.

A massive slap back to reality today. First half hour we were on top and didn’t take our chances as per usual but then again Swindon had a few of their own in that time. You’d say we deserved to be level going in at the break.
The wheels then well and truly fell off and that 2nd half is going to cause Lindsey sleepless nights.
The Swindon commentator jinxed us in the first half when he said ‘Crawley really don’t look like a side tipped for relegation’.
I hate Saturdays
I wouldnt say you were on top for the first 30 mins although you did have some good chances. We were far too open in midfield in the first half due to the fact that the team must have been watching videos of vintage 1974 Holland. Left back at CF, Left CH at RWB etc. We tightened up in the second half and Crawley collapsed like a pack of cards after the second goal. We are going to take some stopping on that performance

Super Horns. Do you do away games? I boycott Vicarage Road I I can't sneak in a four pack of Stella. I'll just fuck the game off and get snorted up in the pub with my bairn and his bois
Not many tbh.

Yes our away end doesn’t do alcohol as it’s too small and not enough toilets .

Having gone to estonia and grimsby i’d be doing a massive disservice to estonia for it to be compared, i appreciate your point

Nah I can never remember Brazil 1970 only drawing 1-1 with teams like Grimsby.

ah bless county, one of those clubs who isn’t anyone’s main rival trying to get folk to remember they exist.

Good win today, mind.

"Trying to get folk to remember they exist?" It's clear you are a tad giddy and posting frantically with excitement this evening, but you can't honestly forget you are a Mansfield Town supporter. The irony is off the scale and has been since May 1987.

You club's contribution to football starts and ends with your ground being the oldest professional football ground in the world. That's it. But at least you have a fierce lower league rivalry that you care about, yay!

The BTTS single (Stags/Stockport) doubles (Stags/Notts , Stags/Wrexham) and treble (Stags, Notts and Wrexham bets all came home thanks to the late consolation goal by Tranmere. Muchas gracias leaky defences.

Thanks to a very healthy away following another 10,000+ crowd at Meadow Lane entertained by nice football and goals.

He really doesn't look right does he... whether he's still feeling the effects of being injured pre/early season and slightly off the pace still, or his heads been messed up by transfer speculation and the pressure to live up to last season? Who knows...
I'm hoping that if he is still with us when the window closes he can put all the speculation out of his head and just focus on the football. A goal or two against Chelsea probably wouldn't do any harm either.

Yeah, last season he became a left back but now he’s a centre back.

It’s all due to a crazy amount of injuries that we keep suffering but we don’t really like to talk or remind fellow L2 fans about it.

I’m sick to death seeing a player wearing #9 in defence tbh.

Did you not know we had an injury crisis

And yeah he did really tbh, give him his dues, he’s next to aden flint though, i mean flint in league 2 is just crazy.

We’ve signed leicesters under 23 captain in defence the other day but just not ready yet.
