You were definitely the better team over 90 mins today, only one team in it in the first half apart from the header that hit the bar for us before half time. Second half was much more even. Ref was shocking for both sides. To be honest at times in that first half I thought you were brilliant. The press was perfect, those balls inside to twine and parrott from the wide centre backs were killing us. We definitely got to grips with it better second half but didn’t do enough.

We need to win 8 from 11 now at least I’d say which is unlikely but I think this run of form shows we should be competing next season for at least the playoffs. And to be honest that was always my thought anyway. I thought mid table after promotion would be a good target this season to lay the foundation.

We’ve only just signed a lot of our players in January. Well we signed 7 with a view to gelling ahead of next season. Other than the 2 loans in Trafford and Fossey (I’m desperate to keep fossey mind) the only ones we could lose really are Santos and Dapo. But we are currently negotiating a new deal with Santos (and he’s just been made captain a few months ago and has 18 months left or so) and Dapo who has 2 and a half years left plus a 1 year club option so we’d only sell for a silly offer. Other than that it will pretty much be as you were. If we don’t go up by end of next season then yeah I could see a mini exodus and rebuild like you say.

Casting around there were some excellent results today. Black Cats winning at Wigan and putting them right back in the promotion race. Good wins for Shrewsbury, the Gills really coming good and giving themselves a fighting chance. Ditto Morecambe with a good draw and a very good result for Crewe. MK Dons getting a cracking result against the Trotters and Oxford enjoying a comprehensive win over Cambridge. BTW when it comes to the boat race I have always supported Oxford, for many of us we are either in one camp or another, or is it a boat

He's not the reason we lost, but that was the most inept refereeing performance I have ever seen today. The bloke just did not have a clue.

Crewe looked much better than a team bottom of the league, and we were very flat.

Thought Joey's family, especially his daughters were brave in facing up to that on the pitch. Proper respect to Cambridge and their supporters for their contribution. Just sad that Sam Smith* didn't get the memo and showed an utter lack of class.

It was touch and go for me - I actually only got our tickets less than two hours before kickoff due to business commitments but had remained hopeful all week of making it, so I’m glad I didn’t miss it. It would have eaten away at me had I not attended

A huge blow for us today. Still in the playoff hunt but that’s 4 points we’ve dropped in the last 2 we simply had to get. We were so wasteful in front of goal, probably the most one sided draw I’ve seen in a while. Concerned with their only attack really. Don’t think Piggot and Bonne are poor players, just look shot of confidence. Set a club record for minutes without conceding though. If we’re in this league next year then I think we’ll be promoted automatically. That’s the hope anyway

I have noticed that refs in general are letting far more of that sort of thing just go completely this season.

Decisions of that sort (outrageous shoves/shirt pulls/rugby tackles being ignored) have gone both in our favour and against us, so I'm not particularly complaining or saying we've been hard done by, just that refs don't seem arsed about that sort of stuff this season.

I wasn’t there today but have seen the highlights including Smith’s celebration and it seems completely unnecessary. I can only assume he felt like he had been poorly treated when there before but, either way, there’s no need for it today on all days. If it’s any consolation, he spent two minutes tying his shoe laces after scoring against Plymouth on Tuesday in a deliberate attempt to waste time. Saying he’s “fully into shithousery” is the most polite way of saying he can be an arsehole sometimes. I see a tweet has appeared from him which likely came after a friendly word from the club….

It’s a shame because he scored two good goals today, has five in the last four games and 17 for the season (by my count) - he doesn’t need to do it.

Anyway no complaints today, sounds like we played really well but came up against a side just a bit too good for us. Obviously the emotion in the occasion spurred Oxford on that little bit more and we were always going to struggle to contain that. Bonner was very complimentary of Oxford in his interview and, in truth, they’re probably a good barometer for where we want to go to in the next season or two.

I can only assume he felt like he had been poorly treated when there before but, either way, there’s no need for it today on all days. I must admit I didn’t take offence quite in the same way as most others. I don’t think it was intended maliciously, however I do think it was designed to rile an already emotional home support in a sporting context. I don’t think anyone really thinks differently, however it likely wasn’t the smartest idea.

Everyone likes a it of shithousery. We have our very own Matt Taylor who is seasoned in the dark arts! In the case of Sam Smith it was a case of bad timing and an ill-conceived plan early doors which wasn’t well thought out considering.

During his time with us he was handed the number ‘9’ shirt us and talked up as being a real ‘get’ when we signed him on loan. In reality he so ineffectual and off the pace (we weren’t great at the time so he doesn’t standout at all as being anything other than non-existent as most players were in that same period), however he had a fair crack. He just wasn’t up to League One football at that particular moment. Suffice to say he wouldn’t have had any complaints, neither was anything negative spoken of upon his departure. Simply a case of him wanting to show OUFC his vast improvement o suspect. Just poorly timed…

Stacey West is empty due to a lack of away fans (362). Next 3 home games are Sheff Wed, Sunderland and Wigan so assuming it should be sold out (1,800ish) for at least 2 of the 3.

It's only been open to home fans against Burton due to a reduction in prices. Somehow still just short of 8,000 home fans at the Bank!

There are different ways to look at the result from our side. Really expected 3 points before kick off, so disappointing? However, getting a point out of a desperate situation is encouraging? Our last game before a really tough run so 3 points a must? 10 points from 4 games so fine overall?

Anyway, we're still just about hanging onto the fringes of the playoff battle. We'll know over the next few weeks if we're genuinely a contender. My guess is that we will be found out by the better teams once again and fall out of contention. If I'm honest, I really don't think we're one of the best 6 teams in this division, and 10th/11th would be about right.

Been an awful few weeks following Sunderland but yesterday we were great against a team who will finish in the autos i suspect (unless MK Dons can nip in there). Hopefully we can get on a run that gives us a chance of winning promotion via the play offs. I never expected that mind so fair play to the players for their great performance.

You're far more forgiving than me mate.

Smith's actions after scoring were pre-meditated and unnecessary. He wasn't good enough when he was with us, but got absolutely no stick from our fans at all, in fact he probably got more support than he could have hoped for.

To then run to the home end and goad the home fans, near to where Joey's little daughters had laid a wreath only ten minutes previously was unforgivable. And unforgivable means just that. His grovelling apology on Twitter cuts no ice, and he's probably been told to do it by his club (who were very classy in the way they handled the day). Actions speak louder than words. His pointing to his name on his shirt and subsequent wanker sign to home fans show this was no "heat of the moment" action.

He's now guaranteed himself a torrid time every time he plays against us, for the rest of his career. The bloke is a c***.

We've got 6300 season ticket holders i think, with a few people buying half season tickets etc, there must still be a lot buying individual tickets which is astonishing. Expecting next 2 to be 10,000 gates with sold out away ends.

Season ticket renewals begin from tomorrow, ill be renewing mine and our whole group are, but ill leave it till payday end of March. £365 for next season
