Crewe vs. Colchester is surely ending in a mutually beneficial bloodless draw?

It’s so good, and unexpected for Mansfield to be going in the final game with absolutely no pressure whatsoever.

Clough spoke about how important it is to still give it the full go for the integrity of the league etc so no gimme for Barrow.

Well it looks like after 747 consecutive league games and 5,948 consecutive days (16 years and 3 months more or less), the long run of Crewe not having a normal league game on live TV is over. It was almost certainly going to end next season but it finally has now.

And it will inevitably be a prearranged 0-0 to keep both of them above their respective dotted lines

I honestly don't think it'll be the fix everyone is suggesting. But, given we've only scored 4 goals in 2 months, us scoring 0 is very much a distinct probability.

I'd rather us just go for it and get our confidence back going into the playoffs if I'm honest. Colchester are safe as houses in my book and it'd take a lot for them to go down.

I think Stockport will get a resounding booing on Saturday, and rightly so. Their fans and their manager seem to have a real dislike for Wrexham; the songs, the banners flown from planes, and everything else. It's been very one sided so far, so time for them to get a little back. I can see it being a bad tempered game with no love lost and McClean will probably get sent off. Should be a good watch.

No point in having walsall in this equation. Less than 1 percent chance they could do it.

I don't think you booing our guard of honour will annoy us, I think it would annoy us all more if you stood and clapped to be honest.

Wouldn't mind seeing a couple of the young lads from Le Carrington get a run out here, good opportunity to keep developing the young stars we have coming through.

I’m really looking forward to it. There should be a great atmosphere and plenty of edge/no love lost considering that there is nothing on the game.I’m sure both sets of fans don’t want some boring love in.

Gills looking like being the lowest scorers in the division for the third consecutive season is, quite frankly, unacceptable. I just want it to be 5pm on Saturday and the season done with, don't care about the result against Donny. It's been a bang average campaign with all too few brief highlights and innumerate frustrations given all the hype in the summer.

It's going to be some turnaround for next season if Clem can turn largely the same side into one that has a spine and some guts that doesn't fanny around scared to have a shot at goal. I've seen flashes of our capability but bloody hell we need to find some consistency if we're not going to be a nearly team next season.

I remember coming out the ground on the opening day after Gills had done a smash and grab 1-0 away win. Worthy of celebration of course, great away win but will always remember "Gills are going up" etc chants and wondering how that would turn out. It's a bit too much of a long season to be singing that on the opening day after a smash and grab away win.

In 17/18 we went to Chesterfield opening day with Russell Slade as manager and won 3-1 and I left that game convinced both us and Chesterfield would both be at least top 7 as Chesterfield had a lot of chances that game too.
We later went 20 games without a win and only avoided relegation by Jolley coming in turning us into Real Madrid for the last 5 games and Chesterfield finished bottom.

There was a run of years where we lost on the opening day nearly every year for a decade. When you're seeing a side like Hereford shithousing you from one set piece, parking the bus, winning 1-0 and then chanting "We are going up" after one game you could only laugh. Especially given they were relegation fodder.

People think too much into the opening day and indeed the first couple of months of the season. But it's not how you start, it's how you finish. Doncaster were wretched for 7 months yet have been literally flawless in the last 7 weeks of the season and could well go up because of it.

Going to Wrexham as champions while being genuinely disliked and booed, if I was a Stockport fan I would bring a syringe to inject it.

Plus side of our game at Colchester is that the red card Cooney got against Wrexham has been overturned. The fact that it was a fucking horrible decision to send him off in the first place notwithstanding, at least now we're not short of yet another player.

Definitely, I'd relish it the other way around.....Would rather we didn't give them the satisfaction, but we will.

What a final day this promises to be, already relegated FGR v fallen off a cliff Notts.

If our player of the year awards are on afterwards they should be fun. Hard to pick the winners.

The Steve Cotterill derby.

He was in charge for Notts for just 18 games way back when, coincidentally that's the same number of games he's been in charge of FGR.

That's where the similarities end. His stint at Meadow Lane (whilst we played with fake money) resulted in a frankly obscene 2.50 pts per game and the L2 title.....

Wrexham have been well and truly RATTLED by Dirty Dave and his band of thugs for some time now. I seem to remember one of the FA Cup draws last season was at The Racecourse and when Stockport got drawn out there were boos around the room.

Only a one way rivalry though according to them.

You've been able to smell the boiled piss from North Wales for 2 years.

It's a massive game for them Saturday whereas it's just a celebration for us. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we put the kids out.

Don't forget the owners spending their precious time doing FIFA commentary going on about us

Clearly hurting. And time won't have healed those wounds.

Have heard that Disney+ put the call in to get Wrexham's cup final scheduled in for the last day of the season.

We've picked up some form again now it's too late, 3 wins a draw and a defeat which was against Stockport in the last five.
Should be a decent enough game as we'll be relaxed and knocking around and you may well be freed from two seasons of torture and give it a go too.
