What's everyone's view on the incident at Gillingham yesterday?

On the one hand, it's a deliberate handball by the Donny keeper, but on the other hand, he definitely isn't denying a clear goalscoring opportunity as no Gills player is anywhere near where the ball was going. I can see why the ref sent him off in the heat of the moment, but on 2nd viewing it looks like it should have been a yellow card instead. Thoughts?
Red all day long. He doesn't know it's going wide, he's done that with the intent of stopping a goal scoring opportunity.

A bit like the red in our game?

To finish 3rd with the budgets others have is an extraordinary effort and it’s great to get over the line this time.
Weren't your lot the highest spenders in the division a short time ago?

Obviously it'll be a while before we all get to compare budgets for this season but it's not unreasonable to guess Mansfield aren't far off top 3 spending, is it?

Either way, it doesn't really matter since it changed nothing in the league table.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, I've got nothing against Wrexham whatsoever but I don't know why their fans have to try their hardest to make the club so unlikeable. The response wasn't even about Wrexham, but no we can't have that.

Well yeah, 4 years ago isn’t this season is it :P1:

To say we’ve not had a decent budget would clearly be a lie but the budget this season is 6th/7th so i’m happy to say we’ve overachieved in a highly competitive league this season. Recognised by clough winning manager of the year.

I’m sure most would agree the side that’s overperformed compared to budget has to be crawley.

I know I'm arguing semantics but no, I wouldn't call that overachieving at all, not when there's several more notable cases not far behind you.

I dunno about overachieving either because top three was the aim despite having a play-off budget, obviously Clough being here a few seasons building is why that was the aim.

Darragh MacAnthony said it on his podcast, Mansfield may have rich owners but he knows they don’t pay nothing close like Wrexham and Stockport so it’s been a great effort to be in company of those two.

I do think Lindsay could easily have won the managerial award mind.

Explain why we are so unlikeable? What are we doing that is any different to fans of any other clubs?

I notice all of the Crewe fans on here have gone out of their way to pointedly not congratulate us on promotion. So maybe the issue isn't on our side.

I mean, I haven't congratulated anyone, it isn't anti-Wrexham or any of the promoted teams, it's just something I haven't done. I did say fair play to Wrexham when you beat us a couple of weeks ago and applauded the quality and ability that the team has.

For me personally it's the constant desire to bring up Wrexham or anything associated with Wrexham in situations that have nothing to do with them. It's the patronising nature of replies or posts. I replied to JJ about a red card for Doncaster - but no, it had to become about Wrexham. It's like the fans can't stand other people talking about anyone else.

Let's be real here. Wrexham's owners bankrolled back to back promotions. You know it, and we know it. It's not a problem, it's just the way it is. I'm not criticising it, but it's still true. I'm not saying we wouldn't all like to have rich owners, and of course that's going to bring jealousy, but equally it's a bit grim to lord it over clubs that are operating on less than a hundredth of the budget and struggling, or performing above expectations. Wrexham aren't one of them. Everyone expected the Wrexham promotions, everyone saw it coming, so please don't talk to us like shit because we don't have the millions behind us to do the same thing. It doesn't make them 'worse' clubs, it means they just don't have the bank balance that was afforded to Wrexham.

I do not, and have never, disliked Wrexham. Why would I? But the attitude of fans since the Disney millions came in is just kind of gross. Remember where Wrexham were when they were poor? Remember when they couldn't scrape fans together when they weren't buying promotions? Remember how shit it was? That's what other clubs are still going through. Everyone you pass on the way up is someone you'll have to pass again on the way back down.

I'd want Crawley to go up and Altrincham to come up as there are already too many southern teams next season.....

I was asked a question specifically about Wrexham, and I answered. See the difference between that and jumping in on something that's nothing to do with Wrexham just to make it about you?

I also didn't say I didn't care about Wrexham, I said I don't dislike them. I know you're a troll here, but my god at least try to be smart about it.

Only unlikeable thing about Wrexham for me is they see no issue employing James McClean, and even worse they celebrate him.

I’d be absolutely livid if we signed someone of that ilk.

Clough wouldn't entertain the sort.

I’ve no issues with McClean for his political views, we live in a democracy after all all, but yes, the guys a prick in general.

Can’t see why anyone would dislike James McClean. Personally think it’s refreshing to see someone who stands by their beliefs and goes against the grain, and his shithouesery is entertaining.

So odd how obsessed the Stockport manager, players and fans are with Wrexham. Do they not have any rivals of their own so need to invent one in us? You won the league. Enjoy it and stop obsessing about a team who doesn’t give you a second thought.

Should have been sent off against us twice but I kinda like him. Even though he's played for some despicable clubs.

He's another one like Mullin that you hate if you're against him but if he's on your team you've got a proper player. McClean is one of the most competitive players I've ever seen for us, he was still charging full pelt into tackles like a madman at 6-0 up against FGR.

I can totally see why people hate him and Mullin, they both boil gallons of piss every match.

We haven't gone out of our way to not congratulate you. It's a lot easier to not congratulate you than it is to congratulate you.
