I thought we were probably just about value for all three points today, but letting in an injury time goal to drop points sums up the season so might as well finish on that note.

Newport were a strange side. Nothing to lose for them today yet came to waste time from the first minute which I really can't get my head around.

The number 30 up front looked to have a bit about him but the 33 who came on in the second half was one of the funniest players I've seen - genuinely looked like he hadn't seen a football before.

Their goalie was a pudgy little fella, wasn't he?

This is Denmark 1992, it is Greece 2004, I’d say it is Leicester 2016 (ish, whenever that aberration happened). A team has been promoted when they clearly should be. The football world is standing still.

First half, completely on top but toothless. Second half we were dire, manager should have made changes 10 mins before the goal and the usual bit of catastrophic play for the goal.
Not good enough. Nice touch for Steve Cotterill to come over and applaud the Notts fans. Perhaps he fancies another crack with us.

Agreed, 6th/7th biggest budget and we finished 3rd, how dare we!

We are the new Notts County. 9-7 in our last two games (5-3 vs Harrogate and 4-4 vs Sutton). Play-offs should be fun.

Bloody Winkleman is trying to play mind games for our return playoff leg opening only the east and cowshed. I'm a snob and go in club red. not happy.

Harry Smith enjoy Braintree Town (A) brother.

Notts were terrible, every single player looked like they’d been on holiday for about a month already. I took a free-kick on the pitch off me tits at about half six though, so that was fun.
We wish, doubt he’ll drop with us.

Congrats in particular to Donny and Crawley, for different reasons. Both very unexpected.
Hope MK go up though, not because I like them but they’ll have the biggest budget comfortably next season if not.

Looked like you were. We've not been convincing at times this season but we did a thorough job yesterday. Shame there was nothing riding on it.

What's everyone's view on the incident at Gillingham yesterday?

On the one hand, it's a deliberate handball by the Donny keeper, but on the other hand, he definitely isn't denying a clear goalscoring opportunity as no Gills player is anywhere near where the ball was going. I can see why the ref sent him off in the heat of the moment, but on 2nd viewing it looks like it should have been a yellow card instead. Thoughts?

Good luck Crawley, hope you do it, mainly based on out terrible record against you, a true bogey side to us.

It didn’t matter to us or Donny in the end, so not an overly biased view, but I think that has to be a red.
The keeper has come out of his box and deliberately handled a ball going towards goal.
That will be a red pretty much 99% of the time.
Noticeable that not even the keeper complained. He knew it was coming.
By the way, good luck Donny in the play offs. From where they were two months ago it has been an unbelievable run.

It really would have been easier to clear it.
We've done it all season. I don't think we've conceded more than twenty five "good" goals where they've either been unstoppable shots or well worked / great moves, we've just casually given away goals all season like it doesn't matter.

How many is that? Under play off rules (3.3) we get 2000 or 10% of tickets made available.

I think it's a red. He's denied a goal scoring chance as last man with a deliberate handball. It may well have gone wide but the keeper didn't know and stopped the goal threat on purpose.

Alec Chamberlain did almost exactly the same for Watford against us 20 years ago. We were never going to score in the circumstances but, like the Doncaster incident, it's the cynical nature of a keeper desperately trying to take no chances with a deliberate handball that means he absolutely deserves to be sent off.

We gave Wycombe 2,000 last time out as far as I remember. I don’t see why we wouldn’t give you more as there’s no bad blood between us, but I imagine it will be depending on how many you give us whether you get more.

Pitch invasion for getting into the playoffs is a bit tinpot though.
