Peterborough at home will definitely one of the tougher games we will have this season, but feel this has come at the right time. We tend to do well at home, anyway, plus Peterborough aren't a side that are likely to park the bus - which is something that we've been inept at dealing with in the last two games.

It's an opportunity to take points off a team who will be up there at the end of the season and we need to snatch it with both hands. Peterborough haven't been great away from home either - 18 defeats in their last 25 away games in the league, with a -39 goal differential - 58 goals conceded in 25 games.

Fleetwood for us and, after home draws against Exeter and FGR, we need to be getting a home win on the board in this. They seem to have had a fairly solid start, though.

We'll see what sort of shape we're in after tomorrow nights Carabao Cup game.

McAntony didn’t give a shit about other clubs. First he wanted the season continued in the summer with no crowds in despite the fact it would be loss making for everyone. Then he wanted play offs down to eighth as he deemed that fairer than going ppg. Then even when they won promotion a year later he was bleating on about how their promotion the year before was stolen from them - and the promotion they won was from the dodgiest penalty you will ever see at home to Lincoln in injury time. Unreal.

I do remember Vale doing that at the time and was very impressed, it was all about survival rather than the league you were in that summer. The only club who could have a real gripe was Tranmere as they were relegated on ppg and that was harsh as from memory they were three points behind Wimbledon with a game in hand and Wimbledon were in appalling form. Even Tranmere sucked it up despite how harsh it was on them, unlike McAntony.
Tranmere went down kicking and screaming, threatening all sorts of legal action and even tried to come up with a formula using a margin for error that kept them up at the expense of AFCW.

EDIT - Just to add, there was some sympathy with how it was panning out.

That’s poor, we finished 8th and voted to end the season to protect the finances of the other clubs who were struggling that would have suffered had we carried on.
It was absolute chaos in L1, a right farce.

L2 settled on what they wanted to do pretty quickly and the Championship always favoured playing on but L1 had Tranmere trying to avoid relegation, Posh wanting to get into the PO's and Sunderland and Ipswich also fancying their PO chances too. Then on top of that, we only had 23 teams because of the Bury situation and Bolton and Southend already effectively down anyway.

Seemed to take an absolute age to come to an agreement on it, and even then it wasn't an agreement but a split vote (can't remember the voting split tbh).

Fair enough, don’t remember that but doesn’t mean you’re not right. Anyway I had way more sympathy with them than the scum.

I never knew what Tranmere were moaning about. It wasn't great to end the season on PPG, but it was the same for all, and they had to go down.
Vale were class about it though.

It was tough to take, we’d been in good form, Northampton were flopping and had a horrific run in on paper and we had a great chance but that said had we come up we’d not have been in anywhere near as good of a position as we are now with Askey and the set up off the field which took the painful lessons of the next season to rectify.

I was gutted as were most Vale fans but understood it was the right thing to do (and in the end we got to experience our first visit to the new Wembley with being able to attend which would have been crap had we been watching on tv only).

Everything happened for a reason and last season was the right karma for it I guess. Carol wanted to protect the pyramid and the clubs which she knew couldn’t afford to carry on in the circumstances.

Having just come out of admin, not being able to sign players and having to play our kids for most of that season, it was a relief to end it.....and we nearly ended not finishing bottom

Bolton at home for us. Tough fixture but having just brushed aside Peterborough in our last home fixture and Barnsley before that we should be looking for 3 points.

Unfortunately I'm going to be subjected to Bristol Rovers vs Shrewsbury on a stag do this weekend.

Not sure if it is my laptop or has the other site "http://www.onefootballforum.co.uk" gone down?
Haven't been able to reach it for about a week.

It doesn't exist? It's literally this site?
Yes and no.
It seems to have same name but for past year or so I've regularly logged onto it. Different forum altogether.

We face Cheltenham away. With 8 first teamers out, no wingers available (Jodi Jones aside who was publicly outed on the radio last night for not trying hard enough in training…) we have no way of playing and a very limited offensive threat right now.

Our two holding midfielders are also out and our full backs are a weak point. We are placing trust in two or three players to drag everyone else through it. We are desperately short on numbers and we are crying out for signings… Fast.

A win is very much required but it’s a tall order, sadly.

I doubt there will be much football on show then.

All I’m going to say is you’ve got words after .net …
Gracious me, it's like trying to draw blood from a stone.
A couple of weeks ago there was another football forum website [similar to this one] that some members of this forum joined when there were web issues here.
I joined it although rarely posted on it.
Now could perhaps Dan Phillips, YEO YEO, Tom_ITFC or Barrie Owl find out if and why this other website has gone down. PLEASE.
Thank you.

Your best bet is ask one of the Grimsby lot in the L2 forum as think they use it. But as mentioned above the URL should end .net not .netforums.

Failing that clear your cache and see if that works.

It hasn't "gone down" in months. In fact I can't remember problems accessing it.

Perhaps just start with google and reset your bookmark if you can't clear your current cache and settings problems.

It's football forums dot net you mean is it? That's still up.

First bit should be all one word, but when I tried it just the swear filter here changed it :D

I tried on www.http://www.onefootballforum.co.uk and opened it up no probs.

edited to note it is s at the end of forum, but when I click save it just says forum singular. and I note it has added a one at beginning, I did not do that. This is very curious.

See my post where I got the same, they've stuck it in some swear filter. Cheeky!

Interesting game against you lads, we haven't scored in the last 3 games, equally only conceded 1. Some key players still out but our overall play is good. Sooner or later we will win ( only )
our 2 nd game of the season, everything points to a draw, to hell with that 2-1 to the Cod's. Irrespective of result, got a lot of time for your club, so if you get beat wish you all the best for the rest of the season
