No Bostock is a big blow and no fun for Notts fans but all the clubs at the top seem to have big players out currently.

Due to where Langstaff plays he can indeed be smothered. McGoldrick possibly less so with him dropping deeper. Two players that are harder to get on top of are Crowley and Jones. Need to be a good individual defender to get the better of either or more likely win the midfield battle which without Bostock is very possible.

It's great that we are so much more than a one man team regardless of Langstaff's incredible goal return for the club. Will he be off in January for BIG money seeing as he keeps on scoring?

No Bostock no party

We got away with it against a poor Newport side but I expect it to be a tough game on Saturday without the best midfielder in league two

Wrexham to put to bed a few nightmares and run out convincing winners. We've massively ridden our luck against them at meadow lane for years

Always love it when fans post “best (insert position) in league 2” while supporting the same team

All you need to do is press Notts, they crumble and the fans leave early

If you were around when they won the league cup in 69 im sure youve had more success than most of us :)

There was a 'statistical' map going round that showed the most successful regions in England. Our league Cup win has meant that we are statistically the most successful club in the South West Region. Something to be proud of for sure.

It’ll be an interesting game against walsall who we traded 2-1 home wins against each other last season, after 2 relatively straight forward away wins without really being tested, it’ll be interesting to see what walsall bring to the table.

The best trick at home recently is to sit back and frustrate us, which worked well for wrexham, bradford and wimbledon all coming away with 0-0s, what we don’t tend to do at home is concede - only the 2 goals in 6 games to do date (and both in the same game) so either a 0-0 or a low scoring home wins look the most likely.

I'm not expecting much, as always at ML. Our record is horrific there. Only remember 1 win in the league about 20 years ago.

Glad JB is out though, as we didn't get anywhere near him at our place last season. Ran the show and quality player. Not too worried about McGoldrick and Langstaff. If you've seen the documentary when we played at ML I think, PP talks about smothering him. We'd do the same again I think.
Neither side can really afford to lose this like last season, only one auto spot available with Stockport and Stags finishing 1 and 2.

You can only create atmospheres like those first 5 mins from four packed out stands at a stadium.

3 stands however full just doesn't quite cut the mustard.

Grimsby at home, think we will sneak this one, played well midweek despite the scoreline, hopefully one or two of the reported 15 injured players may be back, I'm presuming a full away end of people desparate to get out of Grimsby for a few hours I'm also presuming, despite a large police presence small groups of Donny heading to the ground will be filled in by larger groups of Grimsby fans & also the odd Grimsby stragglers to be pounced upon by our youth which seems the norm these days, think I'll stay local for pre match drinks tomorrow or go out later, getting too old to be watching my back these days, I've all on putting my socks on

You’ve not taken into account mansfield’s annual meltdown.

Speaking of Grimsby, noticed frequent poster Son of Cod not been on here for the last ten days or so. Probably just on holiday or busy with actual life but hope all is well with him.

Grimsby will not be taking up their full allocation. will only bring around 2,500.

I know what you mean about the pockets of idiots and the huge police present will never be in the right place when needed ( too busy calculating their over time claims).

As for the game, Donny should take the 3 points especially as Grimsby haven’t won away since April!!!

Home to Wimbledon ,will be a tough game we have a few injuries and suspensions ,basically whole of the regular defense and no1 goalie not playing ,but will hopefully show the character of this young team if we can get a result .
We are in poor form. Long trip.last week as well. I expect us to lose this game. 2 0

That’s meadow lane for ya, it’s a shame because it’s such a nice stadium.

Unlike Field Mill which is a shit stadium. Looks like it's been made from a rich kids meccano set.

It hasn't even got 4 stands.

Noticed he’d be absent for a while.

Hope all is good SoC and you are just temporarily too busy or whatever it is to be on here.

I’m not sure Langstaff is a player you can have much of a plan for individually, he doesn’t really do anything outside the box. If we’re playing well (like the first half at ML last season) then he’ll look really dangerous because we’re getting the ball into the box a lot and his movement is so good, if we can’t get that much territory or sustained attacks (like the game at the Racecourse) then he’ll look anonymous.

Jones is our player to watch currently anyway, having a blinding season, two clear of anyone else in the country for assists and has had the beating of basically every right back he’s faced so far.

I’ve heard from him, he’s alive & well! Bombed me out for Stockport away with a ‘broken gearbox’, he’s quite vocally still ‘Hurst In’ so I figure he’s just having a tough time adapting to the current downfall.

It's true, it's damn true. Although you can crowd him out if you assign a couple of players on him. Would be happy if that option is chosen today for the obvious reason.

Langstaff runs his socks off especially closing down when the opponents have the ball and making countless runs where he actually receives the ball only infrequently.

So many a time he will be anonymous especially to opposition fans until he scores of course.

All he does is score goals and run his socks off. Not bad for £50,000 I wonder what he's worth now? Hope we don't find out in January.

Except the teenager who we had filling in at right-back, who kept Jones in his pocket for the entire time he was on the pitch…
