With stockport off today and us playing tuesday when they don’t they’ll actually have a game in hand on us, which will be odd given we’ve seemingly had 2/3 games in hand on them all season!

I mean not a chance is there? How have you lot tried to suggest there’s no need for a pitch inspection!?!

Groundsman was made aware that you're the oldest club in the world so he thought he'd send the pitch back to the 1800s for you.

No idea. Nowhere near playable imo. If it goes ahead it'll get abandoned, surely?

Never thought it’d be on so was surprised they sounded so confident this morning, and looking at that nah it’s off as soon as the ref turned up.

Knew the risk anyway so we’ve travelled up and reckon we might go Bradford PA on the 4G, or just stay in the pub - fantastic city for a few pints. The kind of place I love but idiots think is a ‘shithole’.

Keep it like that for another fortnight when we rock up, we’re used to playing on a swamp.

Just arrived home from work. Massive storm unloaded on us. Hail, rain & sleet. The roads were rivers! More predicted.

Row, Row, Row your boat gently to the shore.

Casey
That storm was a major contributing factor in a big motorway crash in Crawley next to junction 10 of the M23 (junction 11 for the stadium). Loads of cars spinning around etc. Thankfully nobody killed.

Sun is shining here but an awful lot of rain has fallen.

Don’t worry it’s badly damaged and was since the idiot ref made us play Stockport in November in biblical conditions, it’ll need a lot of work in the summer

We've had games postponed for games where the pitch looked better than Bradford's...if it does go ahead the game will be an absolute lottery...hope the ref doesn't clamp down too much on badly timed sliding tackles!

Parky's rounded up hundreds of volunteers to pour buckets of water onto the Racecourse pitch.
I want this off, I'm in the pub and don't wanna leave the warmth of it.

Bradfords pitch is shocking but in fairness the past 90 mins it’s absolutely binned it down, I’m not surprised they were sure it was on this morning

It’s time all clubs in the professional leagues were forced to invest in their pitches, clubs alike are happy to spunk big wages on journeymen but then aren’t so happy to invest in their facilities. We had a fan forum about 6 years ago when the CEO at the time said to those there would they rather a good playing squad or a good pitch, well sorry clubs shouldn’t get to act like that as fans waste a lot of money in difficult times following their club.

I don’t know enough about 4G pitches to confidently comment on whether they could be implemented in the lower leagues, but there has to be a time whether now or whenever they’re suitable for professional football for them to be rolled out.

We have had a succession of crap CEOs, the last one couldn't even arrange for the hand driers to be repaired in the gents...bloody glad they didn't let him anywhere near our pitch!

Bradford fans did predict this postponement last week.
Their general opinion was;-
"If that Barrow pitch is unplayable we won't play another home game this season"
100% correct so far.

We’ve spent our time in the fifth tier and they were basically fine, it’s an option. On the other hand our ground is next to a huge river and our pitch is basically fine with rain, we only ever have games called off when it’s so cold the pitch covers don’t work, so it can’t be that difficult.

Ah well we don’t have hot water in the kop so that would go nicely.

Everyone in the top 5 not supporting MK celebrate that result. Big chance for us today. Hope we take it. Nerves starting to really kick in now with 12 games to go. Not sure how I'm going to get to the end of the season.

We obviously had one and they were absolutely fine and consistent all year round whatever the weather, only significant snow forced a postponement. Only misinformed or grass pitch snobs have issue with the quality these days. Facts don’t back up more injuries stuff chucked out (unless things have changed recently) but don’t think sides would train on them is that were an issue. Our injury record in last couple of years in National far better than since we switched to grass (obviously luck etc. plays a part).

You say all this, but Marc White of Dorking came out against them a few months ago. And he isn't alone. Several big name players complained about playing on them in the US. It's a tough one.

Lovely finish for a Grimsby goal but we're failing to clear some fairly pedestrian approach work and had conceded three or so corners too
