I like Clough being our manager, and at times like at Northampton in the play-offs, he gets it absolutely spots on and we did a job on them but just like any L2 manager he’s got flaws and today they showed up because he’s the reason we lost today with a ridiculous starting line up.

We need to actually spunk some money on players, we’ve brought in five players, three are loans and two are goalkeepers. The squad needs a commanding centre back and a forward player, but Clough is making out we are only after the latter now.
What gets me was that in his interview afterwards he named a few players for having bad performances ,yet never once came close to accepting any blame ,in fact he said the system wasn,t a problem as we had been playing it for the last month ,not with those bloody players though lets hope we get at least another couple ,in at least though realistically we need three minimum

Seen highlights on itv.

Doncaster should be fining the fuck out of Lee Tomlin for that. Fucking idiot, I’d be fuming if one of our players got themselves sent off for that.
On the highlights Dean Ashton seemed to blame the ref more than anyone else for getting “involved “

We were fantastic today, team that with a poor Hartlepool and you get a result like that.

Peter Clarke was fantastic, exactly what we have lacked. A proper old fashioned CB who reads the game extremely well. Next to him you have two powerful and pacey defenders, we won’t concede many if Monthe, Clarke & Daniels perform week in week out.

Hutchinson was exactly what we have missed going forward, fantastic work for our second goal.

Johnson up front was superb up front, his work rate was first class & deserved all three goals.

It was the most complete performance I have seen since we dropped into league 2. Long may it continue.
I said I didn't know what to expect,a win or a tonking, the latter was right.
I've seen some shyte over the years watching Pools & that performance was up there with the worst.
However, your press & workrate was very good ,played some nice stuff & your number 6 was outstanding.
Good job I had a bottle of gin for the journey home.

there was some real bother in the away as those not clapping weren’t proper fans /
apparently

The idea that you have to be positive is bloody weird.

If we think the product is crap we should just say it so it can get better.

I'm convinced it could be March 2023, 19th in the league, and they'd still be clapping Dempster. "Show your support, be positive, be a true fan".

What was the general feeling amongst the fans there at the end? I can probably guess?

Not the refs fault Tomlin kicked the ball away twice. Once he had booked him for the first one, Tomlin gave him no option. Its about the only thing the ref got right

Yes thought it was a strange comment .

Almost saying Tomlin should have just been allowed to carry on !

Ref was a new guy from Scotland apparently.

Had a few hours to gather my senses after a bit of a rollercoaster of a game to come up with some reasonable thoughts about ourselves.

It's taken us two years to get going but this league is a fucking piece of piss.
County dishing out DREAMS yet again.

If only we had someone to ask him, Nigel why did you play five at the back but with only two defenders amongst them?

I understand he wants to go with this new formation because it gives us the chance to get two upfront, but it felt forced yesterday, I think if we played our tradition diamond the result may have been different.

Don’t forget Tomlin had already thrown himself to the ground once already when the ball went through to the keeper, that and getting himself sent off were the only things he did, it was borderline suspicious that he was trying to get himself sent off (more likely he’s just a bit thick).

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Just watching the highlights and that Carlisle kit is not a Carlisle kit

The colour isn’t Carlisle to me, but I always give Carlisle credit for having the balls to do a really different home shirt most times they change.

Clubs who say ‘here is our new kit’ and find change is a slight collar change and badge position and then go £50 please.

Tomlin goes into the most stupidest sending off I have seen, almost does need investigating and bloody pundits who frankly blame referees for everything.

He kicks ball away, gets the standard yellow, then like some petulant 3 year old kicks it away right in front of red on purpose (should be red there just for the deliberate attitude)

Them embarrassingly dives like a baby again in front of ref, should have been straight red than another yellow for his shocking attitude.

But he will be defended no doubt

Checking highlights to it looked
Like Carlisle did very well, broke through Crawley lines numerous times and if they can work on that final run and final ball could well score a lot of goals……and this with the best attack player still not fully fit.

Possession means b*gger all of you do absolutely nothing with it, 25 chances and alot of them decent chances off limited possession is a good sign.

Expect Carlisle to be strong at
Home, away will determine alot.

TBF the fans on here and elsewhere haven't.

Was just Dean Ashton - maybe a mate of Tomlin's or doesn't like refs who look like him with no hair!

Saw them comments from Ashton, I suppose maybe he meant had the ref sent their last off for the leg break challenge then maybe the game would have had more discipline about it or something like that. That’s the only thing that makes sense unless he was just talking shit. Been at the game I’d say if it’s the former it is a fair comment, when the ref lets players get away with nonsense it can lead to these daft incidents. Looks like the refs in Scotland are just as shit as the players because I had high hopes and he was down there with Trevor Kettle and the rest of the useless twats, hope he doesn’t ref us again as all he succeeded with is winding the fans up.

Didn’t talk about the tackle at all .

Just said he didn’t need to get in involved and show another yellow card.

Almost as if he was suggesting that the ref trying to influence things too much rather than not stamping down on events as you say he doing in letting a lot go .

Stockport County.
Barrow's three finishes in the first half were all superb. If League Two teams are all that clincal, we are in trouble.

The goals rocked us, I suspect teams don't score with every shot usually, so hopefully we'll be alright.

Reality check for everyone.

Just seen the highlights posted above, great goals, definitely not like that most weeks.

The main difference between the NL and EFL2 is that half chances get taken more and mistakes** get punished a lot more often in the EFL. Also there tends to be more players with pace in the teams.
We had Warren a right back playing at left back and a 20 yr old loanee from Chelsea;- Sam McClelland who is a centre back playing at right back and making his senior league debut* so we had a bit of a makeshift defence out yesterday too.

*He had already played for Northern Ireland senior team though
** for the 3rd goal it took 7 seconds from intercepting the ball on the half way line to the ball being in the back of the net - that's the difference between the NL and EFL.

The general feeling in hospitality was he wanted to get sent off because he thought Ravenhill should have been, personally I agree with you that he seems a bit thick

It's a lot more clinical throughout the league, you have to be on it every week. Some weeks you'll get lucky but if you consistently give up errors and half chances you won't amount to much at this level.

Teams are fitter, stronger, press much better than down there. You will be fine but might take time to adapt.

Mate of mine was there, fuming over the display and was unhappy Hartley didn't come over at the end. To be honest he should be cut some slack, I bet he was about tear the dressing room down. Think next week he might be told to give the fans an ovation.

Yeah I saw a few people complain about that, I'd imagine he was seething, or certainly hope he was.

Decent point for us at sutton!! they have lost their better players from last season and replaced them with big one dimentional monsters who will bully a lot of teams into submission, thankfully we were big enough and ugly enough to withstand their tactics and really should have won the game at the end, some good performances from our boy's especially Zanzala Evans and Drysdale, but overall a draw was a fair result.

Watch the highlights from all games yesterday and you will see the standard.
Ours was a combination of that and shite defending.

But it was pointed out many times before a ball was kicked.
Some of your lot thought there was little if any differance with the NatLge.

Takes time to settle, You,ll get there.

That's good to hear. Not the best way for a new signing to endear himself to the fans was it.

To be honest, surprised you took a punt on him in the first place anyhow.

Your 2 centre backs were very impressive on the day.
