Our form is getting better albeit slowly however we haven’t got anything away from home, Close is out until the middle of November, Taylor who knows, John having another referral on his back, Rowe might be available might not, Okenhibirie?????, Seaman no idea, six first teamers out so I doubt our away form will improve

Ouch. 2nd bottom of the form table. At least we're at home to the club one place above us!

We need a win. I'm not expecting it to be easy but we're more than capable if we get on the ball a bit more and don't sink back too deep in defence.

Feeling a lot more confident than I was a fortnight ago after doing a very professional job at Sunderland.

Finally saw what these players are capable of when set up properly and playing to an actual game plan.

Need to follow up with another win, play as we did on Saturday and we will, play as have the previous 2 months then no chance.

Turn up with half a team and you’ll beat us

Away at Plymouth. Going to be a good one this. Wouldn’t back the 0-0 draw let’s say. Might be the first decent looking side we’ve played so I’ll be interested to see how we fair. 1500+ town fans and a good home crowd. Can’t wait! I’ll go for a Desmond

Whilst fully aware this post may come back to haunt me come 5pm on Saturday, I really think we'll turn Plymouth over. Cooky has us firing, figuritively and literally; let's just hope we can keep the back door shut.

One thing is for certain, there will be goals. I reckon Plymouth will need to put 3 past us to win the game, vice versa may be true.

One of the worst home records in the league vs one of the worst away records in the league.

Results between the sides are pretty mixed over the last 3 years or so. Up to that point, if felt like Shrewsbury won most of the games against us.

I'd be surprised if we made any changes to the starting XI. The only possible change could be Jackson in for Eyoma, who sat out Tuesday's game because he can't do three in a week. No Walsh, Hopper, Bridcutt or Scully.

Wikum at home and like plenty of other clubs we badly need 3 points. Every defeat has been by a single goal, every other interview by our manager/players is about fine margins...b.....margins. Actions speak louder than words, one guy who will be well up for this is our goalie who in the play offs against Wikum a couple of years ago produced the worst goalkeeping display I've ever seen. In fairness ( and Barton getting kicked out helped ) he has been a stand out player for us, hope this does'nt come back and bite him and me !
So our visitors have responded really well to being back in league 1, Ainsworth is continuing to do a good job and they must be one of the favourites for promotion, all of which does'nt auger well for Saturday. No problem, an overdue win for the Cods !

Bolton at home. It was an improved performance last week at Accrington and we should have won rather than drawn. Still, after the four-goal hammerings in the previous two games it was something of a relief.

Difficult to call this one. Both teams are pretty leaky at the back at the moment so maybe another 2-2? We still have only one proper centre-back available which has badly affected us since early September. Connor Ogilvie is the latest player giving it a go, and he is probably the best option given the alternatives.

I've just been waiting in the local chemist and got talking to the guy behind me -big Pompey fan. Born in/around Fratton Park, well up on whats happening with your club. Pleased to say his two grandsons play football at poolfoot farm. Said to him we'll make a Codhead of you yet, his son is a copper working in Fleetwood, really nice guy. One of my golfing pals is a Bolton fan so hope you beat them - alls fair in love and war and all that......

Sheffield Wednesday at home on Saturday - the sort of game that, when I started going to Cheltenham, was a pipe-dream.

Annoyingly, as much as I've been looking forward to it, I'm worried I may have Covid. I've not done a test today, I'm hoping it's a 24 hour bug, but my son tested positive last week so playing the odds, it's likely I'll be isolating.

If it helps I’ve had most of the symptoms of Covid since Sunday and tested negative everyday although I do feel like I’ve been run over by an artic then dipped in shite for good measure

Yep - that's how I feel, with a shockingly bad stomach ache as well.

I was completely fine yesterday, even went for a run (though only managed 1km before rolling my ankle).

It's not been a great week...

Not necessarily mate, a few weeks ago my Son had Covid and me and my Daughter both had exactly the same symptoms and we were both negative.

I don’t gamble anymore but that Bolton 9/4 looks pretty tasty.
Cracking odds that.

Burton double chance 11/10 are unbelievable odds as well. We've got loads of injuries and have won once at home in about four games. Reality is all the casual betters will just look at our position in the table and add us to their weekend coupon. More fool them.

Those odds on a Crewe win look very appealing.

Looks like it may be more of a bad chippy on Wednesday night. As well as a headache I got really bad stomach cramps yesterday - this morning I've barely left the loo (I'll leave the rest to your imagination), but I feel completely fine otherwise.

Looking forward to tomorrow. A chance for the two sides most closely associated with Paul Mariner to show their appreciation of him.

Glorious sunshine down here at the moment, though a drop of rain expected tomorrow afternoon.

Should be around 15,000 crowd, which at the moment is close to sell out, as there is an area of the Grandstand not in use except to season ticket holders. I think our capacity is around 18,000, but 2-2,500 is taken out of the equation at the moment. I believe Ipswich sold 1600 of their allocation which is great.

Not sure who will start in central midfield as Houghton who has been key has a one match suspension. I hope he starts Broom rather than Mayor, the team look more effective with Broom. Mayor does a good job coming on with 20 to go against tiring players.

Not a clue what to expect from Fleetwood, but I’d hope for at least a draw, I can think of very few times I’ve seen an Ainsworth side not be up for it.

That said McCleary (who is a key player for us) is out currently, although we do have some decent backups.
