Didn't see the game today, but sounds like a draw was about fair overall. We just can't defend set pieces without Boyle and Raglan and we seem to shit ourselves a bit if we take the lead. Great character to snatch a point though, so pleased for Matty Blair - didn't realise how much this game meant to him.

Jackson and ?
Assuming he means Bishop who also got concussion.

Three week league break now anyway so it shouldn't impact us really. FA Cup next week, should have been Sunderland the week after but that'll be off because of internationals, so Doncaster is the next league game and by that time, Jackson, Bishop, Scully and Bridcutt should all be back.

5 subs for us today - 2 under the concussion protocols. Jackson ended up in hospital but thankfully sound precautionary.

As for today, I think we should all be content if we're around the 12th-14th mark heading into the New Year. I'd argue that we're perhaps overachieving slightly given our attacking options, or lack of as the case is. The lack of pace in the attacking third is killing us because teams can push up the pitch and press our back four in possession knowing we're no threat in behind.

Sort that out, as we tried to do in the summer window, and I think it answers a fair few of our questions.

Crewe fans are very quite on here. Confident bunch before the season started. What's changed?

Solid win today with two brilliant individual strikes, one a goal of the season contender. The early red card killed the game off as a contest.

McClean is a confidence player, but when he is in the form that he's currently in, there's no better winger in the league IMO.

As Duff mentioned in his interview - what the hell was he doing in that area of the box anyway - he's usually the one hanging back at corners.

Genuinely chuffed for him, and you could see by Alfie May's interview how loved he is in the squad.

Not sure how many of us were 'confident' before the season began - I certainly thought we'd be up against it having lost all our best players and I could see from the opening day game v Cheltenham that we were likely to struggle.
The squad just doesn't look good enough I'm afraid but there's still most of the season to go so I'm still hopeful we'll somehow scrape enough points together to reach fourth from bottom.

Entirely predictable result yesterday - against one of the best two teams in the division.
Nearly ruined my day lying round the pool
In lanzarote…
Another stupid sending off too. 80 minutes with 10 men against Wigan is impossible.
Another mini slump. We are so inconsistent it’s untrue.
Wigan look very good from what I can see, and mcclean is a class above at this level.

Bishop both with concussion, so should be back for the Doncaster as it's highly likely Sunderland will be postponed.
Yeah, isnt it 3 callups? I saw Fiorini and Mair called up for Scotland (under 21s?). Guess Griffiths will get the same for England, so 99% sure it'll be off.

This always makes me laugh, "if we had of taken our chances we would of won that" but this presumes your team takes all their chances but the opposition still miss theirs, surely not a fair assessment. A look at the stats shows whether its shots on target or chances as a whole you were second best in both. So if both teams had if taken all of their chances you still would of lost.

So how did you deserve the points??

I have witnessed games where you have 22 attempts to your opponents 1 and you lose, and in those you think, we should of won that, but then surely it's teams fault for being wasteful.

I was simply replying to the post saying we only had ONE chance.

There was in the last 10 where one of ours were pretty much between the penalty spot and 6 yard box without anyone in front and still managed to send it wide. Can’t remember who it was

The first of these is what I was referring to. The second is just poor and likely hand ball. Third was the good stop by the keeper.

Don’t know why these weren’t on the highlights I saw.

Please ignore the ‘HMS Piss the League”

We can't defend set pieces to save our lives and we're rubbish away so not surprised at yesterday's result.

Robbo has already said he's looking at defensive targets for January. Our home form is what will keep us up hopefully, but we badly need a win on Tuesday to stop the rot.

Cole with another brilliant goal as well.

Would love to know how many points Ipswich have dropped from winning positions so far this season. Classic Paul Cook!

Was a cracking goal by Stockton.

Up in Scotland so missed the game. My mate said it's the best at Highbury for 2 years. Very complimentary about Wikum and the beast, Fleetwood could do well have won this in the 2nd half. Morris back after over 2 months out and he scored a superb goal. Although we have dropped to third from bottom more optimistic than ever we will be ok

Or if Sunderland have 3, or if both keepers get called up guarantees it'll be off.
The fact that tickets are on sale for Doncaster the week after tells it own story

Thought you were fairly decent yesterday actually.

If we'd scored the penalty at 1-0 I think you might have folded though, but it seemed to give you a bit of a lift, and when you equalised (as said previously, great finish) I think a few of us thought it was going to be one of those days. But we rallied and once we'd scored the second I think we were then quite comfortable until getting the third.

We weren't at our fluid best and I think we missed Brannagan and the midfield drive he gives us. It's ironic that you mention your weakness at set pieces, as they've not been our strong point this season, and we're usually vulnerable to conceding from them rather than scoring from them.

I though you looked quite well coached and fluid in possession, so think you're being a bit hard on yourselves. We're established as one of the top League One sides, and you've just come up and had a fairly major re-build, so the odds were always going to be against you. League One is much more unforgiving than League Two and seems to get stronger each year, but I've certainly seen a few teams worse than Morecambe this season.

Very interesting assessment of our game on Not The Top Twenty podcast. Worth a listen, gives a different view to the game in particular and Ipswich and Argyle in general.

Didn’t realise we’d scored first in 12 of the 15 so far :ohm: Cook needs to sort that defence out!

I’m not overly sure what he meant by our subs didn’t change the game, I thought Celina coming on and switching the wingers made quite a big change in the game. Opened it up more, including a few end to end moments

Why didn’t Celina start? He looked quality, although he doesn’t have to do a step over every time he got on the ball!

Kyle Edwards reminded me a lot of Kyle Bennett when he played for Pompey and Paul Cook a few years ago, very similar style of player. Piggott also came on and seemed to play behind Bonne? Which was a bit odd.

Celina hasn’t been the best since he came back but I don’t understand why Coulson (a left back) played at right wing when we had him Celina on the bench.

Piggott hasn’t played much so cant be sure what Cook’s plan is for him yet.

Stockton is a funny one; a largely nomadic striker who suddenly comes good! He's now a massive focal point and a real talisman. His goal was superb, a real cut above however his all round play was equally competent. If he goes in January, he will be tough to replace.

I actually didn't think Morecambe looked bad, however if form isn't great I can understand the negativity. Morecambe were far from the worst side OUFC have faced this season. Had the open goal been converted it would have been a really tricky game.

Generally I thought you were reasonably well drilled and in a similar vein to Accrington, despite the scoreline the knack of continuing to apply pressure when games are seemingly 'lost' will eventually convert/salvage points.

We shackled Stockton quite well when we beat Morecambe a few weeks ago. Where he is such a focal point now, I do get the impression that if you stop Stockton then more often than not you'll stop Morecambe.

Of course I'm only judging that on the 90 mins we played against them.

Stockton has been around the lower leagues for a while without pulling up any trees. I think he's on a bit of a hot streak, that most probably won't last. He's 27 so there's no re-sale value in him for whoever buys him, so I'd be absolutely amazed if he went for a seven figure fee, and no disrespect to Morecambe, they are not going to be able to turn down a half smaller offer if it comes.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the so called bigger League One clubs, who are underperforming, panicked and came in for him in January. But if so, I'd say £400,000 to £500,000 tops, and that's only if he continues scoring at the same rate between now and January.

Can't see him in the Championship (although a struggler might take a punt on him if they need goals) as his overall play didn't greatly impress me.
