More cannon fodder for Notts, it never ends.

Just looked and they've got Vauxhall Motors the week after.

If you lot did you'd still probably find a way concede 4 in a dramatic late win.

Haven't Colchester been impressive and rather unlucky in their last couple of fixtures?

For the first time in the league since the 1996-97 season, the Alex make the trip over Bickerton Hill and the River Dee to Wrecsam.

Both sides free scoring. Both conceding a fair few goals. We're yet to keep a clean sheet this season whilst Wrexham are shaky at the back themselves, conceding 20 goals in just 9 games.

I just think with Conor Thomas rumoured to be out for a few weeks our midfield is going to be so powderpuff and weak off the ball. I don't even think Thomas is a great player at all but we lose that ball winner we need when out of possession. Why we didn't sign Tom Pett in Summer when we had the chance I'll never know. If Wrexham bounce back, they'll have a field day if we spend 90 minutes backing off them like we did Colchester yesterday.

Still back us to score past that shaky defence but I think our luck will run out after 2 poor performances and we'll get our arses handed to us here. That away form is still abysmal and one win at a Forest Green side who have lost every game at home doesn't change it. We're also shite in front of large followings and in local games too.

4-1 to Wrexham. Be happy if we come away with a point but can't see it.

Think next saturday will realistically see mansfield’s first league loss of the season down at big spending gillingham.

We’ve been flat the last 2 games despite gaining 4 points as the injuries are slowly taking their toll - add to the fact we’ve got a game tuesday in the league cup then gillingham is basically in france it’s going to be a long trip for us.

It would be a massive surprise if there is any other outcome than a gillingham win.

I’d take a point. We’ve scored in every game bar 1 this season and I think if we can get a goal we’ll take a point. Don’t look like Gills have scored too many so far, although losing to Donny will probably get a reaction.

Colchester look strong for a run at the play offs to me. After dodgy start seems to be coming together.

Attending Swindon vs Grimsby for my sins. Nailed on nil nil after pinging in goals all season.

At last, a home game. We could do with a few net bulges, mind.

Difficult game away at Col U who are not as bad as their start suggests. Definitely been under performing or coming out the wrong side of close games. Unlike us they have played most of the promotion favourites already

Point away from home with a tough month coming up would do nicely

Genuinely not looking forward to us playing a very decent team in Mansfield, despite their ever enduring injury CRISIS

I fear Wrexham could be abit of a wounded animal this week. Weve under performed the past week or so despite getting positive results. Also we tend to choke in these local games when we have a large away following. Talking of away followings it's such a shame the allocation is so small as this sold out a month ago, and only season ticket holders got a chance, didn't get to members or general sale, after our start and with the interest I'd be shocked if we wouldn't have sold 2k for this one. For some reason we got 100 or so less tickets than everyone else has had aswell.

Wrexham 3-2 Crewe (Mullin, Lee, Jones, Long, Tracey) 10,600 (1060 Crewe)

Colchester looked very decent for 80 minutes this weekend and Fevrier probably the best player I've seen so far this season.

Yep, echo most of this. Only way to beat them is to play a high press style and try to put their defence under as much pressure as possible. We play the same standoff approach and we'll get absolutely hammered.

I wonder if Bell will be tempted to go to 3-5-2 to get more defensive players in to combat Wrexham's attack and system. Just think there are a lot of mismatches which have the potential to go against us. Our full back positions are a real weak spot, a revolving door at both positions. Who do we send up against McClean at RB/RWB? Cooney, who the manager doesn't seem to rate? Adebisi, who can't defend? Finney? Offord? Not ideal.

As you said, think the midfield has the potential to get overrun as well, the likes of Lee and Young could do some serious damage.

Like you I think it'll be a spanking for the reasons you mentioned, but if we can come away with a goal or two and a narrow defeat I'll take it.

Some of us have EFL Cup ties to think about before Saturday

Thought we had it rough with Peterborough at home but you win it with port vale away.

Going to be an interesting day in and around Chester on Saturday. Alot of Crewe fans going via Chester to Wrexham. Chester have an fa cup home game vs our neighbours Nantwich Town and on top of that Chester races are on aswell.

Trains are on strike. Unlucky, lads. But yeah would be very tasty.

I'll give Parky 3 games. We've been utterly dogshit when players run at us. Stockports 3rd was so bad when the lad had 4 players to beat and we stood off him. Pathetic. And then they only had 5 shots on target and scored them all.

If you stand off us and let us dictate play, we'll be ok but again, I worry about our 'defence' which cant defend. 1 clean sheet all season against a Grimsby side that didn't have a forward on the pitch (Pyke isn't anything more than a non-league player so he doesn't count).

If you run at us, or play through our midfield, and shoot, I can see plenty of goals going in (again). Cant see PP changing personnel or formation, or making any subs until the 85th minute.

Sutton debacle aside, we've looked more controlled away than at home this season despite winning all four at Meadow Lane. Looks a decent chance to take a win into a trickier looking run of games.

We have looked ok in most games - a few exceptions, of course (e.g. Walsall away) - but we've been struggling to score goals. It looks like there is the makings of a decent side in there when it comes together but it hasn't quite clicked fully just yet.

I'm not sure that the visit of Notts County is the game for that to happen unfortunately, but there's a kinder looking run of fixtures to follow so I'm sure some results will start to follow soon enough.

Fair enough - forgot you can get TfW from Crewe. Be ideal. I'll be doing the reverse fixture in the car in the tinpot trophy, but my mrs and lad will be going by train i'd have thought and I'd meet them there.

Really can't see how this will play out.

Be thankful Stocky didn't have 8 shots.

Got drunk the other weekend and brought a ticket for this unfortunately.

Not really played well last couple, a lot of that is down to Quinn and Oates being out but still managed to pick up points so far.

Our home games against Wallsall tend to be incredibly dull. Probably a 1-1 or sommat.
