PHE got in touch on Monday because they decided Crewe had a cluster. I kid you not, that is the gods honest truth. They let us play Wigan first. That is how incompetent this government is. Crewe then explained the protocols they were following, and PHE agreed it was unlikely to have spread around the squad, because of mask use/social distancing etc etc. So in the end PHE said Crewe must have another round of testing before they can play again. Meaning the Oxford game had to be called off. PHE initially wanted our next 5 games called off, but this deal was struck instead.

It would actually be nice if your club came out and said what happened, not some person on a forum or a leaked thing through the press.

Well that might be down to the club being advised by the EFL not to say anything just yet due to the government involvement, all we could say is that we could not fulfil the fixture, pretty much like the statement Oxford put out. The only slight difference in what I have heard from what Danny has heard (and I heard from a decent source) is that Oxford point blank refused to play. Now this could be wrong, but it's not our fault regarding the lack of information, and I suspect it's not Oxford either but both clubs are being muted by the EFL and it's leading to all sorts of conspiracy theories, 'not Crewe again', 'Crewe are picking their fixtures' 'Oxford got walloped at the weekend and have used an excuse to avoid Crewe who hammered Wigan' etc etc.

Also, Crewe and Oxford fans were robbed of a game of Football on Tuesday night. ZERO positive tests in the club. Beckles had written clearance from the EFL doctors to play against Wigan. Just a complete and utter farce. No justification not to play on Tuesday if Crewe are to be believed.

It's all very odd, why the hell is Karl Robinson randomly ringing our players up, does he know them?

It looks like somebody has grassed the club up to PHE, their concerns were ill founded as nobody was testing positive for Tuesday's match, the club had EFL permission for Beckles to feature against Wigan, so I wonder who reported the club to PHE and why if there were no concerns. Its seems after the first postponement somebody reported the club to Thame Valley Police saying we had breached covid regulations, after a police investigation we were found not to have done one single thing wrong concerning the original postponement, so is it the same people/person who reported us to TVP the same who reported us to PHE, and why?

The EFL have not helped, advising the club to issue an statement saying we could not fulfil the fixture, but we could not fulfil it because we were told not to play. Why the EFL could not just issue an accurate statement at the time may have stopped a lot of the blame and counter blame from both set of fans and clubs.

So to sum up, we did nothing wrong concerning the first postponement, but you could see why Oxford had concerns so that's fair enough given the times we currently live in. The second postponement we wanted to play, there was no reason for Oxford to not want to play this time as we had a clean bill of health (and because of being reported to PHE they were all tested after Tuesday, and all the results came back today as negative!), but for some reason we were advised to call it off, the mystery is who reported us to PHE and why?

Well he has been called out now so he should be in his element. Should be right up his street. However, BBC Radio Stoke have asked Oxford for a comment. They have refused and also said KR won’t be speaking about it either. So for once, his mouth is firmly shut. Not sure why, seeing as if Artell is lying (which, may I add, he may be) then Robinson is clearly being slandered.

If Big Dave was telling porkies, that means Thames Valley Police are telling porkies, PHE are telling porkies, and the Alex players are telling porkies, not saying Robinson has lied about anything, but he needs investigating over this if he has lost his tongue all of a sudden.

But what if you are advised by the EFL to say you cannot play the game, due to somebody incorrectly contacting PHE saying we had positive players, that's despite the EFL saying we had a clean bill of health v Wigan, no other issues before and on the Tuesday, and all this backed up by the latest bout of tests showing not one positive result.

What are we diverting attention from, having clearance from the EFL to play Wigan, having a fit and full squad on Tuesday, being notified by PHE that Oxford had complained that we may have positive cases, despite the EFL giving us clearance, contacting the EFL to advise what we should do, being advised by the EFL to put out a statement that we could not fulfil the fixture do to Oxford contacting PHE, Thames Valley Police totally clearing us any wrong doing covid wise in the original fixture. Is there something else we are diverting attention from?

Doesn't surprise me KR was calling players. The man is so enthusiastic he does have a tendency to act when he really ought to just stop, think and then speak. I'm fairly sure however calling opposition players wasn't a malicious act, mind. He's hard not to embrace when he's your manager however I imagine he's just a bloody nuisance to listen to as an opposing manager as he does have a tendency to embellish when he's on a high!

On balance the whole 'thing' is just weird. What I would say from the PR stunt released by Crewe is that it likely hasn't helped them. David Artell didn't cover himself in glory at all (even if what he is saying is true). He came across as rather unintelligent and the whole charade was executed particularly amateurishly which didn't exactly help his cause.

I thought his comments re: our best players being out injured to be strange also (presumably tongue in cheek?). Mousinho's legs have gone a bit and is our third/fourth choice centre half plus he is out for a while. The other, Atkinson has made roughly three appearances in league football.
