The Bunney sub cost us the game, the same kind of sub we’ve been used to before. Hurst has cost us the past 3 games with subs/tactics.

Agree on Menayese, very good the past 2 games and I thought Hewitt was good today too.

No goalscorer? What about the inspired LJL signing??
LJL has been alright. Him and Hanson aren't a traditional combo but we have no other option. Payne has been the poorer signing out of those two. The fact we have all three is ridiculous. They're all so similar.

Be interesting see what the Grimsby fans think after seeing us midweek.

Wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if Grimsby ran out 2-1 winners.
Must be tough being all the way down in 13th. We're bottom for a reason.

Gutted with the result. We've got to be more clinical. Dominated for long periods but just can't get it over the line. Good finish for the equaliser, but we dropped deep and invited pressure.

Hope it doesn't knock the confidence too much going into Tuesday
I think we need a more physical presence than Doyle that can hold the ball up better whatever division we are in next season. I liked the look of Quigley the other day. Ran his socks off, a bit of skill, could hold the ball up and can play football. Someone like that would improve us massively whatever division we are in next season. Would help us mix it up when we need to. And help with defensive and attacking set pieces. I like Doyle's work rate but he's not as clinical as I was expecting. He misses genuinely good chances game in game out despite being top scorer.

Were below you in the form table though so I'm not being funny when I say I can see you beating us. Maybe it's not as foregone a conclusion as today's defeat but it is very possible, and anyone who has seen us play this past month would say probable.

Is there anything better than winning with a screamer in the 94th minute when you’ve been shit all game?

Yeah I agree. Doesn't seem to offer enough threat on the crosses given how many we are putting in.

Think he wants chances like the Morecambe one rolled in to him. But with teams dropping deep, we're not getting that opportunity.

Cambridge score what must be their first shot on target from 25 yards after 3 and a half minutes of 3 minutes added on. These are the kinds of things that happen to teams in the top three. So, so unlucky in a game that we have been on top of but what is Osadebe doing messing around with the ball there instead of just lumping it.

It's called football Jonny. We were much better than Scunny in midweek- their manager said we were by far the best side that Scunny have come up against so far this season - but ended up losing the game. We didn't deserve the win today but we got all 3 points today thanks to another great strike.

Still, your comment on our goal coming after 3 and a half minutes of the 3 mins of AT is a tad dishonest considering that as soon as the 90 mins were up, one of your lads spent a good 90 secs on the ground receiving treatment.

3 goals in our last 6 games.

All in one game of course.

5 0's.

The only way I can describe how bad Grimsby are is by pointing out that we’ve scored 3 goals in 8 games (see first quote for context) and have only won one game in that spell. It was on Tuesday against Grimsby and we should have won about 7-0.

We are banned from going for any Barrow players [thankfully] Quigley is not what we need.

If you think he signed and plays LJL to be a goal scorer its no wonder you don't like him, its not what he brings to the side and it never has been.

Need to win this as we won't get anything against Tranmere

Oldham there for the taking
I wouldn't be so gloomy, we didn't find a way to make best use of the fit players in our squad, now Vaughan's out. Suspect it will be an experimental line-up on Tuesday and anything could happen.

You can add many other clubs to the list of sides that have been in poor form and then we play them and they get a win.

Orient as you say no wins in 7
FGR had lost to Southend and Stevenage in their last three games and beat us
Newport had not won in 8 and beat us then didn't win their next 3
Stevenage had won 2 in 9 before beating us
same with Scunny and lost 3 in a row prior to our game.
Vale had not won in 6 when they beat us
Cambridge also 2 wins in 9 before us

and that's just since New Year, only team in any form prior to playing us this year were Harrogate and Southend, and only team we have beaten who weren't in form were Crawley and that was a lucky win for us.

That they're prone to the odd disaster? The first hour or so showed that they were better than us, and let's be honest, they're never dropping into the bottom two, so it's a moot point.

I think that's a fair point, we are very much prone to disaster, both Barrow games and throwing away that Bolton 2-0 lead recently comes to mind. I don't think we will drop in the bottom two, but the rest of this season will be painful and atleast keep us near enough just to think about it IMO.

A lot of fans have short memories, our season has been dominated by dreadful individual mistakes, and today was a great example, I cannot recall a season with so many bad examples.

Proved it again. Against the footballing sides we are a force (against the kick and rush not so much)

Lovely goal from Nichols and how we didn't get another from Joe "Van Basten' McNerney's volley and the scramble following I do not know.

Thought Tranmere went a bit flat after half time when Kirby went of and we edged the second half.

Didn't see this coming but blooming happy with the result.

Casey
An even first half, in which I thought you were a bit over-elaborate in the build-up in the final third. After a bright opening few minutes from Rovers in the second half, the rest of the game was nearly all Crawley and but for the bar and some decent saves from Scott Davies the result would have been even more comfortable. Surprised you're not higher up the table on that showing. Tom Nichols does like a prolonged roll-about on the ground though.

Yeah that's what's frustrating about it. We played alright. Not great, but we competed and came away empty handed. You did have that shot that hit the post in all fairness. I actually think Eastwood might have got a glove on that too.

Only managed to catch the last five mins so won’t comment on the game. Priority today was not losing/losing ground on Bolton in 7th, still with two games in hand on them, so to draw in the manner we did is really pleasing.

your defence played well.....if you finish higher than us you will be promoted
As others have stated here we have played no one on our unbeaten run.

You are certainly no better than those teams we beat.
Would take a wembley play off game against you all day long.

Yeah, they weren't too bad today. They seem to have taken on board some of the criticism from the Bradford game.

I like that they're not overly biased, but some of the ass-kissing of Bradford was shocking.

Boz; agree about Nichols. Funny thing is he aint very good at it. The refs have him down as a tumbler and after 30 minutes he has to be assaulted to get a foul. The Simone Biles act doesn't do him or us any favours.

Good player despite that.

True but we still found a way to lose, like we always do.
Unfortunately we’re screwed.

We are garbage didn't start playing till we were 3 nil down and there's no coming back from that score the majority of time. Cheltenham are a decent side and should get promoted but they didn't even have to play that well to do and we gifted them there goals. We actually had more shots on target than them according to BBC stats. We only scored our 2 goals late on due to Cheltenham slacking off making a couple of substitutions to give fringe players some minutes. We are a bigger club than Cheltenham yet they will be in league one next season and us in the national league. Once we hit the national league we will never get back into the football league as all we are is a failure club.

Maybe not him specifically but someone that plays like that. If we go up there is no way Doyle offers what we need to compete in the league above. And he even admitted this week in an interview he doesn't like heading the ball. I'd be interested to see his shots on target/conversion stats as it just seems like he's not that clinical.

Defensively we were as good as we have been today but in possession we were hopeless. A bit like Tuesday where we struggled to pass to each other. Midfield is looking really tired over the last few games but its the one area of the pitch we don't have any backup in, other than moving other players around who have been playing really well elsewhere. Bolton just seemed fresher than us physically and mentally which is why I thought they had a better control of the game and looked more likely to score. Would've taken a point before kick off and definitely now given how the game panned out.

He's fairly clinical from the looks. But I do feel we need a bit more.
