Being a season ticket holder for over 10 years of non-league football, you're dead right.
And yet, here we are still in the league 16 years on having been to the league you are trying to get into. The fact you felt the day was very non league is even more testament to how we have continually punched above our weight every season, and apart from this season and last, have been pretty stable.

That was a must win game for us and thankfully Shrewsbury decided to put in an awful performance which made the day much more comfortable.

We didn’t have to get out of second gear because the early goals either side of of the first and second half seemed to knock the stuffing out of them.

Wrexham away next which I don’t expect anything from so it was crucial we got the 3 points yesterday.

Not sure of the stats but we seem to concede most weeks within the first 10 minutes after half time. Needs sorting fast

Saw the worst player I've seen all season today, Jason Sraha for Burton. Genuinely should be playing for Welling United or someone.
We manged to sell him to Burton for a fee. Came to Shrewsbury injured, had a spell in the team last November, scoring the winning goal against Reading and looked like he could become a bit of a cult hero. Then got injured again and didn't really play when Hurst came in.

Doesn't seem the most sensible of moves for Burton when by the end of last season he was probably our 4th or 5th choice centre back when we had one of the worst defences in the league. By the end of the season he was behind Joe Anderson who Hurst had totally frozen out of the squad for 2 months

You certainly need to start doing the basics better, because the goals you conceded were the type you see in Sunday league.

Your midfield were ok but look toothless up top and as I’m sure you’re already aware your defence and keeper are a million miles off this level.

He is absolutely awful. Showing our recruitment model off an excel spreadsheet is fucking daft.

Don't disagree, you've had a great ride and given supporters memories to last last lifetime.

Looking forward to 3pm Saturday when we can add Lincoln to the list of teams to call us the worst team they've played all season.

We are so one dimensional and bad at that one dimension. Rob Elliot set up perfectly to completely nullify us so I expect a manager like Skubala to do the same.

Fans are turning against Jones and I can't see anything other than another loss and another dire display. I think he's lost the plot a bit already, we are diabolical atm.
I said you was shit and you beat us!!!

Still can’t believe we lost 3-0 to those bums. Nice to head into the M11 derby with a bit of form on both sides.

The thought of agyei up against Rossi is already giving me nightmares.
Archibald still injured?

Another one of those games where we’ve got opposition fans saying they were impressed with us and how we deserved at least a point, another game in this 5 game losing streak (along with wrexham and wycombe) where we shouldn’t got at least a point and haven’t.

If we’d have been battered in any of those games i’d have been concerned, but we haven’t, but it is cause for concern - we just don’t have anything uptop without gregory and it’s been brutally exposed.

We’re in good stead due to the early points we’ve gained and know what we need to do in january, but with charlton away and rotherham at home, i’m pretty convinced the run will continue.

Theo has had a setback and is out for the season. Stunned if he ever plays professionally again tbh. With Jordan Graham out for the season (again) too we’re not very dangerous or direct down the flanks which has changed the way we play. Not much counterattacking, lots of sideways passes on the half way line.

Thought being on a Monday would mean we escape the weather but it’s absolutely filthy here again today. Good luck anyone sitting in the East Stand building site.

Tykes 1- 2 Blues

Windy, wet and pretty w**k for long periods, credit to Barnsley who coped with the poor conditions better and who were massively up for it, but crossed lines with some ruff house tactics, our LB Cochrane can attest to that, if you cant beat us football wise, draconian tactics are required... that still did not work, a victory for football some might say.

Stanno what can we say, thats why you pay the big bucks, a player to make the difference, unreal.

Great away day 5k in tow, we will play better and wont win so i think that was a championship calibre win. One we will look back on when all is said and done.

We aren't cooking on gas, but we continue to roll. onwards to Exeter Tuesday in our own trophy (Vertu have now partnered with blues)

You may as well play a full strength team Tuesday as you wont need one to beat us

It would be so us to get a result against your lot while previously losing to the chaff in this league. My mums side of the family are all Villa so I will get a lot of stick if you win, which you will

Would not surprise me Gas, as good as we have been we always seem to have a ricket that can pop up.

My sympathies for being associated with so many of that mob.

cheers, ive no allegiance to Villa but my brother has them as his '2nd team'

Best we can hope for is that your finishing is extremely woeful and our keeper Griffiths carries on his top form (he is on loan from WBA!) so we can snatch a 0-0. We certainly wont score whatever happens

Griffiths is really good actually, tough for him at the albion he is behind Alex Palmer.

We need to be more ruthless, first half of many games very slow, maybe go 1-0 up but dont press the advantage home, hopefully that will come, it needs to

Entertaining 1st half between Northampton and Peterborough. Peterborough have grown into it. As expected they look poor at the back but capable of scoring every time they attack.
