From what I saw it was a good away performance against a top team in this division.

When they equalised the first time I thought we'd go on to lose, so to go back in front straight away was a bit of a shock - as you say though, I didn't expect us to see out a win.
It was a game of little quality and neither side deserved to win. Both your goals were purely down to poor defending by us, the first we basically watched it go in and then for reasons only known to Olowu he ducked instead of heading it and it went straight in. In contrast both our goals were products of the weather. Another 2 points at home dropped which hopefully won’t haunt us come the end of the season.

The Artell out brigade on Twitter have gone a bit quiet lately, what an absolutely brilliant job he's doing here, he might chat a bit of shit at times but fuck me he's a great manager, he's even got Kieran Green playing like prime Zidane somehow too.
A lot of the Artell out brigade probably only go to Donny and Notts home and away or watch those on TV so in their eyes we are shit...

Stockport County.
Just seen the Grimsby highlights at Morecambe. I expected three wind assisted flukes but no, short sharp passing moves.

David Artell is doing a very good job there, hats off to him.

Results worked out fairly well for us. Still top 7 with 2 games in hand.
Yeah I was happy too that a lot of our TITLE RIVALS dropped points.

I'd love to see a Venn diagram or such graphic of Town supporters pro-Artell or anti-Artell vs pro-ownership or anti-ownership. I'd imagine most who are against Artell are also against 1878 and vice versa. If you're anti-Artell you're essentially opposed to the plan of being at the very least slightly patient which is what the owners have asked us to be several times now. Be patient and await steady progress. Right now, we're actually ahead of the curve on that...I'd have even said we were after the Colchester match.

It's important to not get carried away though, we're a relatively young squad and I think we'll dip in form and have stinkers multiple more times this seaaon and when we do the world will be falling apart for some I'm sure. As good as the performance was yesterday, the reaction on The Fishy has been unsurprisingly a bit OTT with a purring Just Back thread (fair enough) and a separate promotion thread (chill your boots).

Did they fuck. Vale lost, so obviously Walsall won. Only Crewe and Doncaster drawing was any good. Everyone else won. I hate games in hand being bandied about. Great if you win them all but how often does that happen. Points on the board is what matters. FFS if KFC had won their games in hand after their pitch collapsed they would be up at the top. They aren't.

Crewe and Doncaster both dropped points, as did Port Vale. We remain in the play-offs. Unreasonable to expect more than that really. If we win 1 game in hand out of the 2 we have, we go back into the top 3. I expect we will win at either Fleetwood or Barrow.

Another problem with games in hand is people add the points (if won) based on the current table / points standing. By the time they're played, could be a completely different situation. Other teams could have had games postponed by then too. Don't think Walsall's game has even been arranged yet.

Yep. Also if you play one of the teams above you and lose before you've played your games in hand the gap obviously widens. Case in point being Wimbledon this seaaon. Think they had three or four games in hand on us and looked dead certs to go above us based on form if you calculated their games in hand but we've carried on picking up points and beaten them and now they're still (just) below us with only a single game in hand.

Home to Crewe. I would have said away win less than two weeks ago for this but after two impressive performances we go into this one with renewed bullishness.

Our record against sides above us and/or more fancied hasn't been great at all, especially at home. Crewe are the only side that have sat above us for the majority of the season that are operating on a smaller budget I'd have guessed. I don't look at their squad and think it's significantly stronger or weaker than ours either, I see two fairly well matched teams. Throw in the Artell factor and hopefully it's a recipe for a home win.

If the conditions are right then we should be on for a decent match.

We had 4 games in hand last season when we dropped into the relegation zone so we were going to fine... we got 1 point so better to have points in the bag and can't be guaranteed as you say.
