Great point at the posh for us. We played well.
On the way back I got a call - wife’s water broke, so now sitting in Burton queens hospital.
Thank fuck it did not break at 2pm - or she would have had to go on her own….

Hope all goes well mate!

Best of luck mate. The midwife bollocked me when my first was born 'because I was more interested in the football results than helping my wife '...the cheek of it!

Christ! I was pretty much banned from going for the last few weeks of my wife’s pregnancies! (Although did go to see us relegate Crewe and had to roll up with a McDonalds to get back in the house which was lucky as my son came along a few hours later!)

Hope it goes well and congratulations
Thank you..He is not due for a few weeks - so I thought I was ok to go.. but I should have known. Our daughter came prem 11 years ago.
Thank god it was not Plymouth away is all
I can say..
I was near melton when it happened which as you know is not far from Burton.

Winning when you're not at your best, never a bad sign as they say!

Hint of some daylight between the top 3/4 and the rest, though still very early.

Enjoyed that today and can't help but feel we're turning a corner. We were good against Exeter, solid against Palace U21s (apparently) and played well for most of today.

We should have been out of sight at half time really but yet again gave away a stupid goal/penalty from nothing, nice move from Cambridge though.

Josh Coburn also looked a handful on his debut on loan from Boro, scoring a very nicely finished goal. Hopefully we can push on from here

Just watching the highlights show seems a bizarre incident at Plymouth on that double red card. Never seen that before for both players going in to win the ball.

We aren’t very good.

We’ve gone from being one of the highest scorers in the country to the most bland, uninspiring and boring side I’ve seen in years.

It won’t be long until KR is sacked.

Sounds like an absolute dog’s arse of a game according to our forum.

A very important 3 points from a morale perspective for us, leading us to the mighty nosebleed heights of 15th, but I’m certainly not kidding myself that we’re suddenly going to turn the corner and put a run together.

No idea how patient the OUFC board is, but you’d think Robinson will be gone by Christmas unless he steadies the ship somewhat.

Just had a gander at the Derby forum. They dont like it when a plucky little side does a job on them do they? Comedy gold.

The really bizarre bit is that the ref gave a foul to us. So in essence he sent off the victim of a foul.

Great win for the Grecians, didn’t see that coming after our off field events in the week. Also, was great to see all 4 promoted clubs win on the same day, not sure that had happened thus far and good to see

It was great atmosphere in fairness from both sets of fans. Their fans made great noise (nearly 29k for third tier is superb).

Loved it when we were losing they sang “Stoke are shit and so are you!” Only for us to turn it round and sing it back when the game swung.

The last time we won there in the league the Spanish Flu was in full swing and the ink on the treaty of Versailles was still not dry.

Biggest crowd we’ve played in front of in a regular league game for 22 years since we were in the third tier so credit their support for that. Guess it’s no different to us moaning at losing some league two games against the smaller clubs when we first went down there.

4 decent wins as well, no one would have had you beating Barnsley, us beating Derby and FGR beating Bolton, and Bristol Rovers got a huge win with their form. Would have got good money if you’d put it on an acca, we were 4/1 on our own.

Got to feel for Collins there - completely inadvertent, but a definite red.

Forest Green continuing to copy Cheltenham in everything we bloody do again ;)
If both teams can avoid relegation by copying each other, then that must be considered a successful strategy. ;)

He pushed him in the chest to get him off Smudge. That’s never violent conduct behave.
sheff wed would have had 5 sent off last week if you get sent of for shoving someone!

great win, i thought the ref was absolutely shit ironically although he got at least 2/3 of the big decisions right. he gave some baffling decisions otherwise.

He was very hesitant in fact the lino gave the first penalty, the red and second are correct but he did seem to give free kicks about 5 seconds after incidents happened.

He was giving some soft ones, the one where Sibley just chucked himself to the floor in front us at the end when he wasn’t touched for example and the one Politic fell over and gave for us. He was useless! Not completely one sided as made out but useless. Never seemed sure on a lot he was giving.

Although it is a red only Smudge will know if he milked it, but I’m glad he’s learnt, he got a boot from Patterson last week and an elbow of JCH the week before… didn’t milk it and both incidents they got away with… we’ve been too nice recently and didn’t get the decision so lessons learnt.

Yep well said, I didn’t expect any of us to win, and I’m beginning to believe the gulf isn’t that great after all

Congratulations Bartonyellow

My lad was born at 1:29pm on a Saturday afternoon and I still went to our game at 3pm. Ex wasn't best pleased. :D

Thankfully, we beat Scunthorpe 3-1 so it was worth it and it's a fun little story for the future. Less so if you're female, I guess.
