I told you we were a crock of shit!

Had to turn the Radio Stoke lads commentary off, they were so over the top with their praise for Vale; also why were there fans in the ground and do Vale time waste like they are playing in Europe every time they are winning with 40 minutes left? No need to do it against our lot what so ever!
Didn’t think Blakeman and Yates were too bad, impressed with the huge improvement, it was Yates (who’s employed by the club) who absolutely slaughtered the lads during last weeks tie at Mansfield!

In terms of time wasting we don’t do it enough, our game management under Askey was atrocious and cost us so many points (27 last season) plus multiple games we’ve thrown away this year. So I am relatively pleased to see us actually try and kill momentum.

We don’t have fans they are cardboard cut outs in the Railway Stand?

Deserved the win today. Harrogate had 10 men behind the ball all game and as soon as they went 1-0 up they started going down with injuries and lots of time wasting. Even at 1-0 on 60 mins I fancied us to win the game and we did.

We were the only team trying to play and got the win we deserved in the end. Back into the automatics which isn’t bad for a team who’s wheels have come off. 4 win in 6 and 4 wins at home on the bounce.

Blake man is our worst commentator but also didn't think he was too bad. A lot of the Grimsby comments are fair but I'd say that in context the make sense as we've been so poor lately.

Not sure on the offside but only saw it once and I don't thing the camera angle was conclusive

Was a little surprised by McKeown today, he made a great save yes but generally was very poor, looked like Banks against us at their place a few seasons back when we should of hammered them.

All over the place for the first and the second the ball seems to go through his hands like they are made of spaghetti

He’s been shite all season.

We have two saving graces IMO, Hurst coming in and the fact we’re likely to chuck some cash at staying in the league. The issue is this vital run of fixtures have come at an awful time as we need to perform immediately or we’re down, no matter how good Hursts signings are

was a bad game, can't really take anything from it apart from the press looked a bit more purposeful than it has done. Grimsby in trouble it looks. And if we play like that every week doubt we'll climb the table

2 mediocre sides plopping it out.
It’s bloody dire isn’t it?
Grimsby knocked it about ok a bit, at times, but zero up top, til that little fella came on with the exotic name.
He looked ok, him.
No dembele’s in them.
Vale, epitomise mid table, we didn’t play that well today, and won 3 nil.
Pope looks done.
You Grimsby lot had to endure that stoke prick blakeman, who overcompensate’s for his massive hard on for stoke when he commentates on vale by being a massive prick.
Bring on August, this iFollow football is crap.

I think we will learn more in the coming weeks, it was a back to basics performance going 4-4-2, defending deeper so as not to get caught out and getting the job done by any means.

Hopefully with bodies coming back we will continue to improve and with confidence today hopefully get back to the first 10 game levels.

I can’t moan Mills did ok, Theo actually looked arsed.

Boys hadn’t trained all week due to the weather too so it’s a promising start but still much room for improvement.

Think the view on Pope being done is harsh though, he played well today, won a lot, set up the first, set Rodney up on half time that he missed and would of had the third had their lad not slide it into his own net.

He isn’t the long term answer but worked well with Rodders until he got a knock.

2 in the middle probably needs Manny and Conlon though. Cant wait to get Gibbons fit too. Will be a huge plus.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel for us Grimsby fans; it's the floodlights at Wrexham, Chesterfield and sodding Notts County!

I've just watched the highlights of the Vale/Grimsby game and they must have put the mic next to Vale's bench or something because it sounds like there's an actual crowd in the stadium

That’s our owner and directors. They go nuts when the goals go in. It’s right next to the camera position.

He looks unfit, granted he won a few headers, which is a given really for him, and didn’t fall over as much as he usually does, and I’ve not watched many games this year, and, having 6 month off for a lad his age has to take its toll.
So, maybe, harsh.
And I’ve always liked him, anyone who can smoke and drink as much he does and still make a living in the game deserves some kudos, but his race looks run to me.

They must all be youngsters then, because they sounded like school children.
Women mostly. We have got a children’s centre on site though but don’t think it’s open during the pandemic.

He barely played until a few weeks ago but has been getting more games in so hopefully will get sharper.

He was whipping that ball in for Worrall second half! Wish it was the other way round!

On a serious note its probably his last season and we are going to have to manage him I would think.

Apart from Southend where he terrorised them he’s struggled a bit in the one up front role this season, suited to him previously but his legs aren’t what they were. Second half he was isolated a bit once we went 4-3-3.

As you say he’s not been the perfect athlete with his body down the years and makes the achievements he has had to break records for his boyhood club more remarkable. Taking the Tin Mans goal scoring record at the Etihad as well.

I'm a bit 'miffed' and slightly 'pissed' at the moment, so please excuse my posts; sour grapes and just being bloody upset with what has happened to my team is proving too much for me.

Early to bed seems the correct direction!

I agree it looks like he is carrying a bit too much weight as does Robinson.

Salford's away record this season: 4-0-6.
Lewis Spence has more yellow cards (5) than any other player at Scunthorpe. Ashley Hunter has collected 6 for Salford.
Abo Eisa is Scunthorpe's top scorer with 4 goals. Ian Henderson has scored 7 times for Salford.

When playing at home, Oldham have not lost to Mansfield in their last 5 encounters.
A year ago, Mansfield were number 21 in the table with 23 points. Now they are number 15 with 26 points.
Mansfield's away record this season: 3-5-2.

In their last 42 home games in all competitions, Exeter City have recorded 35 undefeated encounters
Exeter City have won 3 of their last 6 league matches by margin of 3+ goals
Bolton Wanderers have achieved just 5 wins in their 31 most recent away games in all competitions

Shows how bad we were yesterday that we didn't have one chance worth showing on the 2 minute highlights after Southend went down to 10 men just after half time.

Thought Grimsby were the perfect team to play at the moment. Knocked it about Ok, but poor at both ends of the pitch. We didn't play particularly brilliantly but it shows that with some of our injuries back we look more capable.

I thought we weren't great in the 2-1 win over Grimsby, and the Vale fans on here are saying their side didn't have a particularly good game either and yet they still beat the Mariners quite comfortably. But what's telling to me, and why I really fear for Grimsby , is that they didn't do what everybody else seemingly does when sacking the manager and a new manager comes in (even if it's only a caretaker) - win a couple of games, or at least pick up a couple of draws.

They need to pick up a couple of wins asap or else they'll find themselves down in the NL next season. And of course, there's the New Salford (™ ® ©) down there so it will be tough.

The author of that article has got to be deluded and on some real tasty class A drugs if he thinks they stand a chance of signing the likes of Paul Mullin, and get this, Plymouth's Luke Jephcott

New manager bounce doesn't happen every time though, does it? You're making out like it's a given but plenty of teams still struggle at first under new managers. We will struggle with the current squad we have too, it won't be until Hurst has brought players in and stamped his mark that we see an improvement really. How fast that happens will determine whether or not we stay up.

We deserved at least a point against you guys, thought you were very lucky to come away with a win. We were shite against Vale and even though we deserved nothing, once again we weren't necessarily outplayed. We're just crap at both ends with panic setting in in the box whenever the ball drops costing us cheap goals. A defence of Waterfall, Pollock, Hendrie and Habergham is comfortably good enough for this division and I'm fairly confident Hurst will get that side of things sorted quickly. It's the rest of the team that worries me despite having a poor record at the back. There is no hope of us scoring enough goals to win games when Matt Green is in the side, he absolutely must be dropped and never played again. Just pay him off and get him out the club. He's completely useless.

We desperately need to stop conceding first too. I've just done a quick count up and of our 23 league matches, we've conceded first in 14 of them, with 8 of those being in the first 20 minutes.
