Gary Woods needs to retire. He's not a viable backup at this point. Glad we've signed another keeper today because that was not pretty.

Playing a 16 year old debutant at center mid with an 18 year old striker up top on his own was never going to end well. It was the most one sided game I've seen at SJP in recent years. Men against boys (and OAPs.)

Interesting to note that, although the table is embryonic, 6 of the 7 sides we’ve played so far are in the top half and the other game was away at Charlton when we had 8 or 9 injuries. Been a tough start. We’ve not exactly hit the ground running but I’m still not scared of anything in this division (except from being sat on by Steve Evans).

We've played Barnsley, Reading, Blackpool, Charlton and Oxford in 5 of our first 6 league games.

We've taken 13 points from 18.

I guess we're fearless then.

Pleased and somewhat surprised with the win after the dross last week. But having now beaten two teams who were in form and had hit the top I feel like we are now finding our feet at this level. With the way we play we will outplay teams at times and look very good and other times may be on the end of large margin defeat. But I love watching the way Wellens teams set up and play and feel we will be OK this season.

Impressive, despite not being fully fit and his days of blistering pace in the past. He’s still quick and does thinks a step ahead of others which frustrates him. The goals have started to come and I’d back him to hit double figures if he stays fit. Definitely will thrive now there’s less pressure for him to win headers. Probably should be on two for the season as the first against Shrewsbury comes off his back towards before hitting Bayliss.

Anymore players you fancy sending our way?

I'd be happy enough shoving Ben Woodburn on the Avanti up to Carlisle.

I'm guessing Maguire isn't being played as an out & out striker?

Good to see Garner is still doing a job too. Surprised Huntington is still going strong as well, I thought his legs were going towards the end here.

Playing middle of a back 3 (or 5) suits Huntington as he doesn’t have to run. The 2 either side of him do the running.

I do nearly shit myself the few times he is left 1 v 1 in the channels. Got done in the playoff semi last season in this situation. Hasn’t happened yet this season (so far).

Maguire has been playing in a front two but he he’s allowed to pick up pockets of space all over which suits him.

Thought Garner was done a few weeks ago but he’s still got it when he hauls himself off the deck for a minute.

Think Garner will be used as more of a late game wrecking ball. Don't really want to see him start games, since he'll get booked in the 20th minute and not be as effective and struggle to keep up with play. Much better to have a joey garner with fresh legs in the final third of the game.

Ironically enough, in one of the other international weekends this season we're due to play Oxford again so that one will be postponed as well.
Good grief!
Our fixtures have been really badly, half a chance the Burton game could be off, so we'd have no Saturday home game in October.
