Donny didn’t look like a bottom of the league side to me. Could be a tough game.
I figure we'll get our chances, but it's all about whether we can put them away. Currently we don't have a striker capable of scoring his chances more often than not.

Defence seems a lot more solid with Hayden back in the fold. Could become a bit unbalanced with the lack of a left back though.

First game of the season for me. Conteh likely to be on international duty which is a huge inconvenience.

I must’ve done Bradford away 10 times now and I can’t remember a win, although the recent games have all been very entertaining. Really hoping Eisa continues this complete fluke of a start & he doesn’t turn into the Sunday league player that Bradford assure us he is.

Yep Conteh away on international duty for us is a blow. I wonder if Andrews will be thrown in in the holding role with Green being out as well or if he'll go with Hunt.

Khan and Wilson should have been back a few weeks ago if their initial prognoses were correct but Hurst has now said that Khan won't be in contention for Saturday and Wilson sounds like he's still deep into his rehabilitation so not sure what happened there, they've both obviously had further setbacks.

Can't really afford to pick up any attacking injuries so hopefully he plays as many youngsters as possible in the pizza cup on Tuesday. We're thin as it is up top when everyone is fit let alone having three out.

I’m very confident we will lose at Accy, unfortunately I’m going for the first time and I’m in the open terrace so I expect to be throughly depressed Saturday afternoon.

Weather looks excellent all week, so be an excellent chance to top up your tan with hopefully an away win.

I'm hoping Hossanah is fit. Otherwise I'd prefer Forde over McAlinden.
Is Hossanah still injury prone then? Shame as the lad had something about him with us but felt you could only get 10 games a season out of him. Ultimately I think injuries will tell their toll and he’ll drop out of the league for good.

Yes he seems to break down all the time. He's been with us for two years and only managed 36 appearances (a lot of them from the bench). A shame, as you say he's got quality.

I feel this might be his last season at this level and I wouldn't be surprised if he moved even sooner to non-league. Lots of promise but made of glass. In a limited numbered squad, you can't afford to keep these players around.

Yeah the last time I can remember beating Bradford away was when we were the main game on goals on Sunday when they had a little Brazilian play who had just signed for them. We won 4-3 and it was some time in the 90’s and I can’t remember ever beating them since.

I concur. If those missile like throwins from Tozer is not hoofball then I dont know what is. Having said that I'd like to have them in our armoury
But first and foremost, Tozer must be a competent defender, not just as a missile chucker. If that is part of your ‘style’ then you have to have a lump or 2 to take advantage. He’d be no good for us as we don’t have said lumps.

Just put the frost covers two feet from the touchline like what we did. I know it's warm this week, but you can never be too careful.

Harrogate at home should be a decent chance to get back on track after a shocker of a week. Hoping for a response from Grimsby, but then again we went there hoping for a response from Colchester.

Grimsby (h) - AND IT’S LIVE!

Amazing init, six games into the new season and I’m losing interest already. That being said, we’ve got a fantastic opportunity to embarrass ourselves again on SKY.

I’m working, so I’ll be at home watching it all unfold on TV like a true modern-day supporter.

Clarke Oduor will be missing - international duty with Kenya. I have no idea who’s fit and who isn’t. Couldn’t tell you how long Cook, Pattison and the others are out for - suppose we’ll have a better idea Thursday.

GK: Harry Lewis

CB: Matty Platt
CB: Sam Stubbs
CB: Cieran Kelly

RWB: Brad Halliday
LWB: Lewis Richards

CM: Ritchie Smallwood/Kev McDonald
CM: Alex Pattison/Manny Osadebe

RW: Chisom Afoka
ST: Tyler Smith
LW: Jamie Walker

We haven’t lost at home to Grimsby since 1997 - unbeaten in 10.

1-1 (18,538 - 1,500 Mariners)

Even if we were top and Bradford bottom I wouldn’t be confident about going there as we always seem to put in a bit of a shocker there for some reason.
We’d sold 1400+ as of yesterday so hopefully be around 1700-1800 Town there.

Contrary to popular City fan belief, we’re solid defensively. We’ve conceded 6 goals in 6 games, but 3 of those came against Morecambe.

It’s up top where we’re struggling. Cook not finding his form was always going to happen once he signed a 3-year deal - I called it in pre-season.

That being said, we’ve signed 2 wingers and another striker recently. Whether they’re any good or not, remains to be seen.

Good following from Grimsby - one of maybe 2 or 3 clubs in this league you can usually rely on to bring half-decent numbers.

Although we lost the majority of our creativity and goals due to Injuries you could still see Bradford are well organised, pretty boring mind, Mark Dinosaur Hughes tho innit.

Hmm, was always going to be the case - we’re missing 7-8 through injury anorl.

It's great to hear about half decent numbers in terms of away support. I think it's not discussed enough and tends to go under the radar so thanks F!rthy.

Gone are the days of Notts bringing 450 to Valley Parade, I hope.

That's the way I'd much prefer it. I'd hate it being the other away around :ohy:

But each to their own, must also be linked to where your home ground is.

Hughes vs Hurst, two of the most boringly pragmatic managers in the division. Only one set of fans has a problem with that though it seems. Both teams can defend by the sounds of it. Bradford looking toothless and us a total mixed bag up top that are still gelling and both sides missing some key attacking players. All the hallmarks of a drab 0-0 so by League 2 logic we're gonna see an absolute classic goal fest unfold.

As you say our record at VP is shocking. We've put plenty of these kind of records to the sword over the last couple of seasons though and I don't think we've had a better chance at beating you on your own patch personally, with you lot struggling. When we get our press right we've already shown that we can be a very good team at this level, but it completely depends which Town turn up.

Bradford were easily the best side we’ve played overall (stockport played the best half i’ve seen this season in the first half a week ago) and as conker says whereas we lost creativity clearly bradford have suffered too.

Grimsby have had some decent results at home with impressive wins against salford and gillingham while clinging on in the other / they could be a dark horse if sort away form.

A good press against us and we haven’t a clue what to do other than give it to either Platt or Stubbs at the back (because we play a three there and don’t have anyone therefore in midfield to give it to) where one of them will inevitably cock it up and get everyone, players/fans panicked and under pressure.
Cook out but it’s Pattison who’s been our main threat by an absolute mile, unless Jamie Walker chips in it’s very hard to see how we score, in fact given Odour is out I think Walker is the only player starting who’s scored in the league this season, Jake Young has more than our entire team.
Score draw I think, I’ll say 1-1.

Mendy been cut from Gambia squad apparently so we have a Left Back. Crazy that our other left back will be away playing against Mbappe
