Homophobic allegation made against a Tranmere player during our defeat at the New Lawn. Very stupid by the player if true, especially as Morecambe had a player sent off against us for something similar. Can only think of one incident in the game where this may of occurred. There seemed to be a heated debate during a corner first half. I’ll leave it at that.

Yes, I heard that on the news as well.
Former FGR player Monthe is in the frame.
Quite who he upset is unknown as there is nobody left at TNL from his era with club.

I noticed that too, there was a conversation between Chris Stokes and the ref, with the Tranmere Captain in close attendance...after the referee moved away they continued a conversation and it looked like he was trying to calm Stokes down. Clearly I haven't a clue whether this is related to what has been reported in the media but it struck me at the time that Stokes looked well on his way to a booking for the way he was behaving towards the ref but his opposing number was trying to calm things down, rather than fanning the flames, which isn't always the case.

That’s the incident I was thinking of. All speculation of course!

It was very weird. Stokes (who has his own past record of homophobic abuse at Coventry, as you can easily find on google, although he insisted he didn't think that word had that meaning, well, meatballs in the West Midlands I suppose and that ) did look unusually animated, even furious, with the ref, and with some of Tranmere, then the Ref running off to consult with the fourth official, then nothing more being said or done. (Immediately brought to mind the behaviour of officials when something racist was said during a home game against Scunthorpe last season). My presumption was something verbal had occured.

Hard to assess from what I remember of the incident as it didn't seem there was much if any reaction from his team-mates, so it would be surprising if they all suddenly said they'd heard it. If homophobic language can be proved then Monthe will rightly be in serious trouble.

Saying somebody did something isn't, and hopefully remains so, proof of guilt.
Referees cannot send players off because another player says they said something. If he hears nothing he cannot act.
At best he can warn both teams that he will act if he does hear anything himself.
Too many people are using this 'accusation culture' as an excuse to settle grudges in general society. If it is not proven the accuser should be punished in every case, without exception.
At the very least with wasting police time.

It seems all a bit petty to me. I mean, if I was homsexual I wouldn`t be upset by someone pointing it out and if I wasn`t, I wouldn`t be bothered about it.
This behaviour should have been left behind in the primary school playground.

Its demanding to be treated the same as everybody that causes problems
Thats fine as long as they appreciate that the vast majority of people are all treated like shite anyway.
Different levels of inequality maybe but all of us without huge amounts of money get crapped on.
Change that before you cry about individuals.

Steady on. Not sure the biggest club in a division spending a shit-ton of money in a January window where everyone else was selling off their assets to survive a pandemic is particularly deserving of a place amongst that particular pantheon.

I see your Copa Ibiza and I raise you the 1975 Capital 5-a-side Cup. We smashed QPR 6-1 in the final. ‘Ave that you hoopy mugs!

He’s probably heard worse chat up lines.
A shed load of money we have been under embargo for years , we haven't signed anyone for a fee, and we are well within the salary cap. Just in case you didn't know we have been in administration and to hell and back in the last 5 years. 4 relegations so if we do go up yes it's been a remarkable turn around 20th on 5th of February means we gave everyone a 20 game start at least.
