Our first game in L2 since 2014, we started off that promotion season with a win at home. We have a very good recent record at home against Swindon, hope we can keep it up.

Predicting we will edge it 2-1, feeling optimistic until the season starts and kills all that.

Would happily take a point but think we'll start with defeat. 3-1.

Tough start for us, I fancy Scunthorpe to be up and around the play-offs with us this season so this will be a real test.

Think we'll come away with a point. 1-1

You lot better not bugger up my prediction of being ‘dark horses’.

Cambridge Utd have had that ‘honour’ for the past 2 seasons.

I was just watching our preview of this match and it showed highlights of us beating Swindon 6-0 the other year. It reminded me of that Rossi Branco for Swindon, I think he's up there with the worst footballers I have ever seen. He made Rory McArdle look solid.

Yet he left us to go to Boavista in the top Portuguese league - and did well, apparently.

Now at Sion in Switzerland

I'm only going by what I have read, but Yates is good at holding the ball up I believe. If we can properly utilise the pace of Woolery I can see this bearing fruit. This discussion should probably be happening in the match day Fred shouldn't it?
Woah didn't know you could move quotes between Fred's.

I've been a shit fan this pre season and not gone to any games so hopefully I'm wrong and Yates can hold a ball up!

Hopefully Jaiyesimi can be involved now he's been confirmed. Be a good option to have from the bench.

Following on from what a Swindon fan said in that other thread about firepower. Our wingers are definitely better than Swindon but our strikers aren't. This could easily be a 0-0.

He's alright, barely seems to shoot though. We comfortably beat Lincoln 2-0 last week yet he didn't have a shot as our lone striker. Will score around 10 I would imagine.

How do know that? If either of them are better than Isgrove I’d be surprised.

Isgrove hasn’t done much though has he? Not lived up to the hype for sure (hampered by injuries of course), Hammill would get into every side in this league. Gillead is pants but no one seems to be mentioning Scunny’s better players who for this league will be really strong.

Can only go by the friendlies. He’s looked a class above.

There’s a few players who’ve done nowt for a while that clubs are relying on.

Hammill and Colclough would get into any side in this league. Colclough won't start today though due to being injured but Gilliead has looked very good in friendlies.

Players form will decide things, not necessarily ability. Cannot comment on Isgrove, as I have never seen him, but I will be hoping that our widemen can hit form early. Colclough will probably be out for a while yet, so Gilliead will have to step up. Playing Novak up front on his own means midfield will need to get involved. Lund, Hammill and Colclough should hold their own, if not do well in this division. Goals will have to come from there. Butler from corners might be worth a goal or two, but I am not confident of our scoring ability. I'm hoping our defence can significantly tighten up this season.

Keshi Anderson starting is a major surprise for us given he's transfer listed. Good player on his day.
May as well use him while he's still here.

Very impressive performance. Scunny had no answer to our pace on the break.

Well we lost to two fantastic counter attacks, both goals coming from our attacks. Game was fairly even for the rest of it. Need to be a lot more clincial going forward. Swindon didn't mess about when they got in shooting positions, we did.

Scunny having a couple of ponderous CBs played into our hands. As last season, we may find it a bit more difficult breaking teams down at the County Ground.

Better side won. Anderson looked excellent. Well organized side, Swindon. Should do well. I'm hoping that there are two worse sides than us come end of the season, cos yesterday we were just like last season - crap.
