Last year, only a small group of people thought Cheltenham would just make the playoffs. They ended up storming the league with 101 points, 12 points ahead of second. I was very critical of them last year but as a team, they are ridiculously consistent and will surprise a lot of people this season.

They've kept the same squad (barring their keeper) and have Gary Johnson. Two huge factors there already.

Ive been to see cheltenham a few times last season and was baffled by their league position, the football they played was bang average against very poor sides. The standard in that league is nowhere near what it once was.

After our last 2 excellent results being a 1 - 4 defeat at North Ferriby followed by a 1 - 2 defeat at Stamford i'm staggered that nobody has put us down in their predicted top 7!

Will submit mine in August.

But I doubt little will change the minds of many with regards to the main top 7 contenders: Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Doncaster, Plymouth, Luton, Carlisle (My tip to go up), Cambridge and possibly Notts County and Accrington.

The strugglers look set to be Morecambe, Stevenage, Newport, Yeovil and Crewe (Mainly due to their manager though).

The rest will end up in midtable and in no danger of going down, but not quite enough to push at the top, but anything can happen.

I see alot of people are tipping us to go up, which is very understandable - Our fanbase expect top 7 as a bear minimum with the money thats been spent on player in transfer fees and the wages on the free transfers we've signed, to go with what we already have.

But we've stil got question marks over us:

- Can our owner just stay calm and unless things become truly horrific, stick with Andy hessenthaler and NOT intervere with the team selection.
- Can Hessenthaler actually take a team up from League Two? Is he good enough - Two 8th place finishes with Gillingham.
- Can we actually defend better as a team, because for the last 2 seasons we have been awful defensively.

Having said that we may well still go down again, so I'll be sticking us 23rd again.
