So basically you won't be able to confirm anything by 5pm today then?

Will you have the chance to appeal if you aren't able to confirm? I'd imagine this would need to be sorted ASAP for the club, but also other clubs in the pyramid wanting to know if they'll be promoted/relegated

What has this Duggins fella have against CCFC remaining at the Ricoh?

Like the council in general, he's failed to back the club.

The council are more happy with being City of Culture and having a mid table top flight rugby team than their biggest sporting club being in the city.

Local Council politics never ceases to amaze me, always find it astounding how much power what essentially amounts to a load of bloody amateurs can have.

As is the case in most politics, a disgusting lack of respect or empathy for the people that vote for them in the first place.

A football club is important to any town and city.

Even more irony is the fact Coventry won EFL Midlands community club of the year yesterday. Mainly down to the fact it provided opportunities for children from difficult backgrounds an opportunity to a a kids club providing meals.

Well, well, well..

SISU are back with the new stadium plans.

There is nowhere in Coventry even remotely big enough or suitable enough for another stadium.

I'd possibly add Notts County in that.

I'd imagine it's more those 5 clubs understand it's a very easy was of making some money.
Not sure it is "easy" to be fair, logistical nightmare I'd suggest, would you rather they didn't offer and your options became limited?

It was surprisingly simple for Northampton and their fans.

The club turned up at lunchtime on a Sunday and was gone by 6pm. 2000 fans buying food and drink in an otherwise empty stadium and a sizable rental fee. Northampton were open about how it was no issue whatsoever having Coventry play there. For a league 1/2 club like MK Dons, Burton, Walsall and Northampton, letting Coventry share would be financially inviting.

I don't mind them offering, the more information coming out about Coventry Council will mean any groundshare will be attendended by more than the last time. I wouldn't go as it's morally wrong but the tables are turning against the council and Wasps.

There are no real close grounds for you.
We are 50 mins away so maybe a good option, but it can only be short term for you. And the a444 is full of speed cameras!
Our capacity is only 7,000 too.

How the fuck has it come to this, the council seem to refuse to help the club stay at home.....

The council and Wasps are the main problem here.

The council sold the ground to Wasps knowing it would damage the future of the club. Wasps promised that they wouldn't create problems and a few years down the line they are kicking us out.

Sisu are continuing with legal action and I think most Coventry fans support that. The stadium was sold on the cheap and seemingly illegally.

If you think the majority of our fans support that then you must be forgetting that the majority of our fans are grade A morons. Most of them are so entrenched in their hatred of SISU that they actively think that the council have done nothing wrong.

Honestly, I'm past the point of caring. Today's statement garnered no reaction from me. I think I might be done with this football club on an emotional level. I'll always be a supporter but the passion for it outside of the 2 hours every Saturday just isn't there anymore. Coming to terms with the fact we're going to be a League One/Two club for the foreseeable future is shite.

You only have to look at the social media sites to see that the tide is turning. People are seeing that this time CCFC and SISU are almost powerless.

I hate SISU more than most but even I can see past it this time.

All protests have to be towards Wasps now.

Read they are worried your fans will smash up "their ground "

Why did the council side with a rugby team from London rather than support the local football team ?

Ripped some sits up at Oakwell the other week so maybe not unfounded worries.

It's all very depressing.
I still think Nuneaton would have been a better option with some temporary stands to take the capacity up to 6000.
At least its a taxi ride away or a bus.
