Aren't Coventry United the phoenix club?
Aren't they a protest club from when Coventry had to share at Northampton for a season, or something like that? Could imagine some people will head there in protest though, and from the outside that seems more fruitful than trying to set up yet another non-league team in Coventry (if that's the path the fans choose to take).

How can london wasps chuck cov out of a ground in coventry? There should be a mass boycott of wasps games

I doubt the Coventry/local rugby fans care though .

Mind you don't think crowds are that great for them .

Wasps boasting an average home crowd of 17,975 lifted from

Trouble is that it's quite a big Rugby area with the Leicester Tigers and Northampton Saints. I can't see Coventry City getting back into the Ricoh unless somehow they and Wasps can sort out their differences. To me it seems stupid they aren't sharing but I don't know the ins and outs of what went wrong.

Are Cov fans going to boycott going to Brum? What's the feeling about it (obviously pissed off) boycott Sisu?

That 17k is certainly inflated. Many of their crowds last season dipped below 13k. They live off some European games and heavily increased crowds when Leicester and Northampton come to town.

There won't be an official boycott this time because most don't actually see SISU as the main blame this time. However, crowds won't rise much beyond 5k.

Any calls from your fans to set up a Phoenix club?

Nope, won't happen until the club completely dies.

I can understand that, just feels like Cov have been going in the wrong direction off the pitch (and largely on it) for such a long time now.

Christ, I remember them being a rock solid Premier league club and it doesn't seem that long ago. Weren't they one of the clubs who had been in the top tier the longest time.

They were but they got relegated at a very bad time (around 2000) before the serious, serious money started coming into the league.

Yep, only Everton and Arsenal (I believe) had been there longer.

I also remember Coventry for being one of those 'classic' Premier League clubs, but also mainly associate them with Dave Busst and his horrific career ending injury :ohm:

I still think it's the worst injury English football has seen.

Fair play to Bussty, he's still doing lots of community work with the club now.

In modern times yes, we lost Derek Dooley to a broken leg which led to amputation.

28th in the all-time top division rankings based on games played at that level - 1390 games.

The other clubs in this division next season also in four digits:

Sunderland 10th - 3340 games
Bolton 12th - 2802 games
Pompey 30th - 1356 games
Ipswich 32nd - 1084 games

Bolton a are a lot bigger than people give them credit for, albeit a lot of their success was pre-60s.

Approaching 1000 season tickets sold. I'm personally getting one. I wouldn't have dared to step foot in Sixfields last time around because there was no reason for us to move. SISU were fully to blame. This time is slightly different, the club are desperate to stay in Coventry and boycotting wouldn't change anything.

Just a year though, anymore and that will be it for me and 'home' games.
