you don't half like pretending that you're the only United fan who can see warning signs. Have you been to Brunton park lately, have you heard, or rather not heard, the atmosphere.

I think we'll be fortunate in that this is a dreadful division and we picked up a good portion of the points we'll need to avoid relegation early on. I think we'll stay up.

I don’t pretend shit.

Recently I’ve heard alarm bells ringing around BP, but I go back to the start of the season when a lot of people thought we were a decent team after beating Port Vale and Crewe. I was ridiculed by some (not just our fans) for saying I think we'll End up in a relegation battle. I’m simply asking if people still disagree with me. Some may still think we are too good to be dragged into it.

I’m not going to question the Sheridan appointment because he’s much better than some of the alternatives, but his he’s failed to address some glaring problems in our squad. In fact I’d go as far as saying he’s ignored the problems. The striker situation should have been priority number 1. Going into the season with the same strike force that was so obviously our weakness last season is criminal.

Pushed our way through that. Ben Stephens made a big impact when he came on.

Back it up on Tuesday and we can start to have a little confidence again.

We are like the fat chick who got their first match on tinder.

What worries me most about this dismal run of shite that we’re on is that we’re getting outplayed and defeated by teams that have started badly. Over the next couple of months we face more teams who’ve had good and decent starts and are above us. Carry on like we are and I can see plenty of 4 and 5 goal defeats on the horizon.

I don't think we'll end up in a relegation battle because we picked up too many points early on, not because we're 'too good' just because we gave ourselves a headstart. Closest we'll come is, I think we will be bottom five, but we'll be that team that goes into the last couple of months just needing a win or two to see us safe and we'll manage to get that. At this stage we don't just have to be one of the worst teams in the division, we need to be one of the worst by some margin.

I'd be on Sheridan's back more if I felt there was a better striker available he could have signed, but I'm looking around and not really seeing anyone who was available at the start of the season, who could have come in and made a difference. I certainly don't think he ignored the problem. Look at this table of the top scorers in the division for example:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-two/top-scorers

You've got Nadesan and Bennett there, both with 4 goals and one assist. Who else on that table might we have signed. Most of them wouldn't have been available, just Nicky Maynard I can really point to, but I can't imagine he would have been anywhere near our price-range, I'll bet Bury are paying him twice what we could have offered and in any case I'll bet the fact he's a Manchester lad played a part in his signing for them. There were a couple more I initially thought from that list, were available during the summer, but on further inspection, weren't available by the time Sheridan joined.

If we're lucky, he'll have an ace up his sleeve in January. I wouldn't count that out as an option, he's an experienced manager who knows this level inside out and he's rarely out of work, he'll know some people.

It’s not just about goals though is it. If someone scored the same number of goals as Bennett but retained the ball and distributed it as well as say Ibehre for example, we’d probably find ourselves scoring more from other areas as well. The ball goes to Bennett and players make runs but he usually loses it or gives it away. Nadesan would probably score more if he had someone of quality alongside him.

What about Davies who got released by Rochdale in the summer. He’s been without a club until recently when Blackpool gave him a short term deal. There are probably others who we could have got in the summer as well.

I’m hoping that it was simply a case of Sheridan being in the job 5 minutes and not knowing the levels of shitness he had, but now that he knows he’ll be well aware of what needs done in January.

Oi stop making this thread about how crap Carlisle are please.

Why?

No one cares about Macclesfield finally winning, people just want to know which team it was who was unbelievably shit enough to get beat off them!

That's what the story of the day is.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Went to my second Carlisle game of season after Oldham and diffeeence was frightening.

Thought we’d lose game, but manner of defeat is the bigger issue, I thought our entire terrible game plan was superbly summed up when you have 8 mins left.......losing to bottom of the league who have no wins ......you bring your only attack option left on the bench.........and take your only decent attack player from the game off, change nothing and play 9-0-1 for the last 8 minutes seemingly happier to lose 2-1 than risk it and go 3-1 down.

Negative.........absolute and total negative was yesterday and fully deservedly beaten for it.

First half was just an absolute shocking game of football between two terrible sides both inept going forward, our ineffective 9-0-1 hoof to a big man who cannot head or hold up ball technique simply didn’t work all game.........and never once was changed..........macc just looked a poor mistake ridden side low on confidence.......neither did anything good and watching Stalybridge was better quality which tells you how bad it was. 0-0 correct half time score my only hope was their defence seemed to panic and may make a mistake.

And it did at start of half with a goal every bit as dreadful as the football so weird that the cheer was a half hearted ‘oh it’s in’ type. A scrappy crappy blah blah goal which their keeper f•caked up on.

I hoped a goal may kick us to life, inspire some energy but we got worse, lazy ineffective uninterested, random whacks up field to no purpose as all eleven men were as such defending........seeing this the macc manager took a gamble, took of the players of theirs who seemed to play ok and brought on best described ‘big lumps’ whacked 4 up front and just chucked balls up there...........it worked a treat.

Game ended up all Macclesfield, a constant barrage the only hope was their dreadful finishing as 3 simple headers went wide..........we needed to change it up, go two up front just to push them back, we waited and waited and waited doing nothing at all but seem to accept we are sh*t but macc will never score.......then they got pen.

1-1 and confidence lifted and only one winner coming, went 2-1 down and even then no sh*t to care seemed to come from either the bench or team........absolute deserved loss.

Can excuse injuries, can excuse have youth making mistakes, cannot excuse a total lack of effort, or care or a manager devoid of any idea to gamble........just shove anything up front it was obvious from 5 mins the stranded by a mile bennet on own simply didn’t work we didn’t even bother to support him when losing in injury time.

Shocking, cannot see Sheridan lasting until 2019 if that is sum of performances
